The Beautiful CEO's Dragon Blood Bodyguard-Chapter 39 - 00 Dare Not Meet
39: Chapter 0039: Dare Not Meet
39 -0039: Dare Not Meet
Long Fei returned home, and it was already past eleven at night.
After he entered, he didn’t expect He Yan to still be awake.
Hearing his movements, she came out and smiled at him, “Back already?”
Long Fei nodded and forced a laugh, “Sister Yan, you’re not sleeping yet?”
He Yan said, “I was just about to sleep!
The students will start school in the next couple of days.
I just posted some flyers at the entrance of the village and at the school, hoping I can rent out this house soon!”
“Don’t worry, our house is well-built; it will be rented out!”
Long Fei comforted her, knowing that for these landlords, the beginning of the school year was like gearing up for battle.
One more tenant meant an extra share of the rent.
“I’ll take your word for it!”
He Yan stroked her hair with a laugh and asked him, “How was work for you today?”
Long Fei replied with a smile, “Not bad, pretty relaxing, no real challenges!”
He Yan nodded, “Then do your job well.
I believe in you.
In a few years, you’ll have made a name for yourself!”
“Same to you!”
Long Fei smiled, locked his car, and went upstairs back to his room.
He Yan wanted to talk more with him, but seeing his rush to leave, she ended up not saying anything and turned off the light and went into her room.
She had a feeling that Long Fei would surely do great things in the future.
Although He Yan was no longer a young girl, she owned a house in the city and maintained her figure and appearance quite well.
She wanted to hold on to this man, but she was afraid he would reject her.
After all, they had only been living together for a few days, and she was not sure if Long Fei had any romantic interest in her.
In a second marriage, she didn’t ask for much, just a man who was warm or cool when needed, and who would protect her and her daughter at critical times.
Long Fei was kind, competent, and physically strong, fitting her desires well.
But she was becoming less and less confident in herself.
The night passed, and Long Fei woke up early as usual to go to work.
Maybe because he was tired, he didn’t have a nightmare again that night. freewёbnoνel.com
However, the bruise on his chest was still there, and the fact that it hadn’t spread gave Long Fei some relief.
After he arrived at the company, he resolved that if Bald Nie and his two cronies provoked him again, he would take them down after work that evening.
Of course, he’d have to choose a deserted place to do it.
There were always places on the streets without surveillance.
He could cover his face, fight, and leave, and the police wouldn’t be able to find out anything.
Things turned out a little different from what he expected.
After Nie Dayong and the others came over, not only did they not provoke him, but they also waved and greeted him with smiles.
Long Fei was baffled, unsure of what they were up to.
He certainly didn’t delude himself into thinking that Nie Dayong and his mates would see him as a brother.
After 8:30, he sent Yang Huo and Steel Hoop to stand guard at the entrance while he went to the underground parking lot to wait for his one-night wife.
Long Fei was startled by the underground parking lot on his first visit—it was as big as half a football field.
The entrance was automated; a swipe of a card allowed entry.
Their job was to stroll around there when there was nothing else to do, sit in the guard house, and, when there was more traffic, to help direct cars a little.
Yang Huo and Steel Hoop had already told Long Fei about Lin Yingying’s parking spot.
The chairman and CEO, along with a few high-level executives, had dedicated parking spots.
Numbered 1—20!
People in the company were aware that even if those spots were empty, they generally would not park in any of these ten spots.
One of the security guards’ tasks was to notify any unknowing person who parked in their spots and ask them to move.
Long Fei sat in the guard booth, watching the monitors showing the footage from the surveillance cameras, keeping an eye on spots 1—20, waiting for Lin Yingying to arrive.
He was anxious yet eager to see Lin Yingying, but also afraid to meet her.
If they bumped into each other, what should he say to her?
He certainly couldn’t ask her, “Did you still…
that night?”
He let his thoughts wander for a while, when suddenly a red sports car roared to life in the garage and reversed into spot number 2.
Long Fei stared at the security monitor, his fists clenched tight with tension.
On the screen, a woman in a black OL suit stepped out of the car and smoothed her voluminous curly hair.
Her tall, slender legs were encased in flesh-colored stockings.
That look, that poise, Long Fei couldn’t be mistaken, she was absolutely the woman from that night.
When she stood, her posture was straight and confident, exuding an air of both grace and luxury.
Her gait was full of elegance, like a proud peacock strutting.
Even in the dimly lit underground garage, she still radiated an irresistible charm.
Determined, Long Fei suddenly stood up.
But as soon as he stepped out the door and saw Lin Yingying from afar, without exchanging a word, he turned around and sat back down, ineffectively wiping the sweat from his brow.
He was a security guard, and she, a president.
Long Fei sat alone for a long time, unable to get over the mental hurdle.
Head bowed, like a defeated soldier retreating from battle, he went and changed the tire.
Below, the atmosphere was gloomy; it was more comfortable standing at the gate.
The sunshine made one’s heart feel brighter.
At lunchtime, Wang Xiaoya approached him with a sweet smile, “Fellow countryman, shall we go have lunch together?”
With silly grins, Steel Hoop and Yang Huo quickly nudged Long Fei.
“Alright!”
Long Fei smiled, regaining a hint of self-assurance in Wang Xiaoya’s warm smile.
The two joined the queue to get their meal on the fifth floor, following the crowd.
The man behind them was impatient and kept shoving forward incessantly.
Pushed by the crowd, Long Fei kept bumping into Wang Xiaoya; even through their clothes, he could feel the softness of her body.
His face flushed.
To keep Wang Xiaoya from noticing, he straightened up with a jolt and leaned backward.
The line, with more than thirty people in it, was pushed back by his force, creating a ten-centimeter gap between him and Wang Xiaoya.
It felt as if a great mountain stood behind her.
A girl in the line chuckled at Wang Xiaoya, “Your friend is really strong; if it wasn’t for him, we might have been squashed!”
Wang Xiaoya pursed her lips and smiled quietly, finished getting her food, and found a place to sit down with Long Fei.
Long Fei still filled two plates to the brim.
The canteen manager had already notified the general manager, who flicked her hair, ready to have a serious talk with Long Fei.
After eating for a while, Wang Xiaoya asked him with concern, “Did Nie Dayong and his crew bother you today?”
“No, I’ve been waiting all morning!”
Long Fei shook his head, looking disappointed.
Wang Xiaoya exclaimed, “You’re actually hoping they would give you trouble?”
Long Fei laughed, “Yeah, if they don’t start trouble, how can I beat them up?”
Wang Xiaoya frowned with worry, “Did I talk to you in vain yesterday?
It was so hard for you to find this job, don’t lose it because of them!”
She sounded like a girlfriend chiding her boyfriend.
Long Fei paused and looked at her, then chuckled as he tapped his head, “Understood, Lady Xiaoya.
From now on, I’ll take any slaps or scolding without talking back.
I aim to be named an Outstanding Employee by the end of the year!”
“Get lost, how come you’ve learned to talk nonsense just like Chu Feng!”
Wang Xiaoya glared at him, a blush creeping onto her cheeks, wondering why she was even having this conversation with him.
Perhaps it was because she saw in him a kindred spirit, someone else from the countryside, and her empathy overflowed?
