Reborn as Mr.CEO's Fat Wife-Chapter 783: The plan changes, Abigail takes action
Chapter 783: Chapter 783: The plan changes, Abigail takes action
Brandon Piers and Abigail returned to the manor and saw Elder Piers and Old Mr. Smith sitting in the living room playing chess. Teddy was sitting on the carpet nearby, holding a picture book about bears, reading it seriously.
As soon as the two of them came in, the little guy looked up, glanced at his dad, then his mom, hesitated, and stretched out his small hands toward Abigail for a hug.
Abigail used the hand sanitizer, walked over, and picked up the little guy.
Elder Piers glanced at his grandson, waved at his old friend, "We’ll continue tomorrow."
Then he called Brandon into his room.
Old Mr. Smith got up slowly and looked at Abigail, who was holding Teddy, "Have you had dinner? They might talk late into the night; take Teddy and go to bed early."
"Yeah, grandpa, you should go to bed early too." Abigail responded, carrying Teddy upstairs with Aunt Claudia.
In the nursery, Abigail gave Teddy a bath and read him a story before he fell asleep.
After Teddy fell asleep, Abigail carefully got off the bed. Aunt Claudia was already dozing off. Abigail quietly instructed the maid beside her before leaving the children’s room.
Back in the bedroom, Brandon wasn’t back yet. After Abigail showered and lay down, just as she was about to doze off, she finally heard the door open and struggled to open her eyes, "Why so late? What did grandpa say to you?"
"Company matters, don’t worry." Brandon replied and walked to Abigail’s bed, soothingly touched her head.
Abigail nodded sleepily, "Oh, I talked to Headmaster Theodore about borrowing his lab. If you’re free, talk to Eva Bell tomorrow. If everything’s okay, I’ll operate on her the day after tomorrow."
"Okay." Brandon saw that Abigail had arranged everything and didn’t say more.
When he came back from the shower, Abigail was already asleep on the bed, snoring slightly under the covers.
Brandon couldn’t help but laugh softly, reaching out to pull down Abigail’s blanket a bit, then lay down. The person sleeping almost unconsciously rolled into his arms.
Holding the soft little woman, Brandon hugged her tightly. He found himself becoming more and more attached to this warmth.
The next day.
Abigail woke up to find that Brandon was gone. She quickly washed up after glancing at the time, then went to Teddy’s room to help the little guy dress and wash up.
After breakfast with the little guy, Pullan and Hughes took her to school.
The news of Brandon Piers being dismissed from his position as Piers CEO was removed from the hot search by Joshua Piers’ people last night, but many reporters still blocked the medical school, hoping to get something from Abigail. Fortunately, they were prepared and entered through the school’s side gate, avoiding the reporters.
However, after the exam, Abigail didn’t return to the manor after saying goodbye to Lena Locke and the others. Instead, she went straight to the medical university’s lab.
Because Eva Bell had fainted.
It was faster than Abigail expected. To avoid attracting outside speculation, Abigail, after receiving the call from the manor, had Elder Piers arrange to send Eva to the lab.
What Abigail didn’t expect was that Brandon Piers came along too.
After Abigail completed the emergency treatment and removed the danger, she looked at the man on the side, "What’s going on with her?"
According to Abigail’s last examination, Eva’s condition wasn’t good but not so severe to this extent. If any later today, she might have died.
"She communicated with the outside world today. If I guessed right, Oliver has been threatening her." Brandon’s response was concise. He didn’t mention that a servant at the manor had been bribed to pass information to Eva.
Abigail was a bit puzzled, "Threaten her for what?"
If it was to stir up her relationship with Brandon, in the current situation, it seemed useless. Was it that Oliver wanted Eva to find a chance to kill her in the manor?
"Eva has five percent of Piers’ shares, given by my father. But because their relationship deteriorated, she never used those shares, so they’ve been in my hand. But if Eva insists on taking them back, it’s not impossible. I guess Oliver wants her to take back those shares." Brandon briefly explained the reason to Abigail.
Abigail slightly understood but couldn’t help but wonder, "How does Oliver know about Eva’s heart condition?"
"I find that strange too." Brandon had also realized this issue. Although Eva was sometimes extreme, she wasn’t entirely brainless. How could she tell Oliver such an important matter and even let him get her chip remote control, which was equivalent to handing her life to him—very irrational.
Besides, even if Eva and Oliver were to collaborate against Abigail, fundamentally, the two stood on opposing sides. Unless from the beginning, Oliver knew something about the chip implantation in his and his mother’s hearts.
Maybe even Oliver dominated it.
Thinking of this possibility, Brandon looked at Eva with a complex expression for a while before lightly sighing and asking Abigail, "She’s out of danger now. What next?"
"Next is the surgery, of course." Abigail noticed the seriousness on Brandon’s face and deliberately lightened her tone.
Brandon was puzzled, "Surgery? When, I’ll arrange it."
"There’s no time like the present." Abigail said as she already started preparing.
Brandon’s mouth opened slightly, "Are you sure?"
"What’s there to be unsure about? Headmaster Theodore’s lab is fully equipped, even better than the hospital by several degrees. She just happens to be unconscious now, so we don’t have to waste time persuading her." Abigail shrugged indifferently, seemingly about to perform a minor operation rather than a highly risky heart surgery.
After hearing this, Brandon felt that his Abigail was right. The previous feeling of being a bit hasty immediately vanished, instead feeling incredibly proud of his little woman, "Okay, we’ll do it your way."
Abigail nodded happily, "You wait here, I’ll go prepare."
Abigail went to change into sterile clothing.
Because they came in a hurry, their preparations were inadequate. They couldn’t find suitable doctors to assist now, so Abigail had Pullan bring over Lena Locke and Wilson Jasper to assist.
The two were quite scared, but because of their internship at Piers’ hospital and the previous medical competition experience with Abigail, they quickly adapted to their roles.
Intentionally letting Lena and Wilson learn, Abigail’s surgery movements were slower this time, unlike the last time she was racing against time for Brandon, hence the surgery took nearly five hours.
When Abigail came out, it was already 9 PM. Brandon had watched the entire surgery and suddenly understood Joshua Piers’ painting.
His Abigail looked like an angel when she performed surgery.
...
Oliver Piers’ ward.
"Caught? Useless!" Oliver cursed under his breath, dissatisfied after hearing that the newly bribed servant at the manor was dismissed.
However, remembering that the message to Eva had been delivered, his mood improved. He knew that woman valued her life the most, so she would definitely come to him within a few days.
