Top Assassins Call Me The Lady Boss-Chapter 73: "You miss my teasing."
Chapter 73: "You miss my teasing."
Chapter Seventy-Three
"Nope," Markus said flatly as he picked up his phone and started scrolling through.
"Seriously, get out. I have something important to do." He was seriously not angry at him and not at Asli too but at himself.
Markus was not listening to him and he sighed. He always told him everything anyway. "Asli would be there."
Markus’ phone dropped from his hands and onto his lap. His eyes widened, and the color left his face. His lips parted slightly, but no sound came.
His jaw trembled as he swallowed hard, while his gaze was fixed on Ahmet as if the words had struck him like a physical blow.
Ahmet could tell he didn’t know what to say. It took him a while to utter, "Are you guys operating..."
"Operating?" He repeated while he laughed and Markus laughed too. "You should’ve known this was going to happen when I told you I was going to blackmail her." Ahmet pointed out.
"I did but I didn’t know it would that soon. She didn’t seem to be... easily... you know she’s in her own world with her own rules." Markus informed him and he nodded, agreeing to that.
"Who was I kidding?" Ahmet mentioned again through a chuckle.
"I did suspect her when I saw her limping. You weren’t home throughout the night so I connected the two and you should see how her hands kept touching her gun, waiting for me to show any sign of knowledge about the two of you." Markus narrated while he nodded to prove he wasn’t even exaggerating things.
"So you knew? Oh my goodness..." they both laughed "How come you didn’t say anything when you already knew." Ahmet continued and Markus raised his shoulders.
"Yeah." Markus continued to laugh. "I dared not show that I knew. Did you not listen to me when I said your woman was ready to kill and silence me? She was fcking monitoring my breathing to make sure I wasn’t breathing differently."
Ahmet fell into silence and then spoke. "And I would bet everything I have that you were teasing her."
"You’d win millions!" He joked. They both went silent again.
"Are you not going to judge me?" Ahmet finally spoke.
"Judge you? Seriously? We burn the city together." His tone became serious suddenly.
"It was just to get on her nerves." He was explaining. Maybe deep down he didn’t want Markus to think he didn’t care about their organization. Asli and her family were off-limits.
They all knew that. Asli knew that. Yet, they still...
"You don’t need to explain man." Markus’ words broke through his thoughts. "I would have tapped that too. She is hot, both body and temper." Markus joked, and immediately, Ahmet shot a mean look at him. "But it seems you have already ruined her for any man anyway"
"Not helping, man." Ahmet did not look or sound angry anymore.
"Seriously, when I saw her limping, I looked at her for a while and knew that it wasn’t from training or a fight. I knew that walk too well but come on, it was Asli here so, I wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt. Then her nanny came with the ’Asli needs time off to rejuvenate.’ Her father called and the scream... it just confirmed it. In my head, I was like Ahmet was going to kill the man behind her ’cheating’. I got home and learned you weren’t home. I asked when you stayed outside and realized she wasn’t home those hours too." Markus resumed teasing and honestly, Ahmet didn’t know what to feel about this.
"You were quiet."
"You miss my teasing? You miss my teasing! You miss my teasing." He chanted and they both laughed. "Seriously, I thought Marco was going to find out Asli wasn’t sick and throw a fist when she screamed loudly like that. But... the man couldn’t even tell when a woman was screaming out of pleasure..."
"Yeah, remember the report we have on him? The man is a psychopath... and a rpist." Ahmet concluded while clenching his fists.
"What are you going to do? If Asli finds out about our plan to take control of their Villa, she won’t sit still." Markus reminded him of it.
’Sit still.’ the two words rang a bell in his ears and he shook his head while he sat in the car. He had told her that while he pointed his gun at her.
"She won’t." He murmured then sighed. "But... we can’t change our plans."
"Hmm. Spark the car." Markus tried to change the subject.
"No. Get down. Seriously. If she were to see us together... l, we... she would suspect us." He was able to convince his cousin of that.
"Go easy on her," he advised before hurriedly running out of the car.
"I’m gonna punch you," he yelled while Markus’ laughter filled the atmosphere. "We are back to square one." He whispered under his breath when his cousin left. Asli was not going to give in so easily now. Would she?
Blackmailing her was not going to work this time around. He started the engine and headed straight to his apartment.
Like he thought, Asli had left. He sat on the bed and looked around.
Was he really in love with her or was it just the idea of claiming her that excited him? He had asked himself this question before... over and over again but he could not answer. He knew no one could answer this for him except himself.
If this had been anyone else, he wouldn’t have come back to apologize. Fck, he would not have brought her here in the first place.
If it were any other person who he had suspected, he or she would’ve been in the dungeon and being tortured for the truth and once they found them guilty, they would have been killed.
Or was it because Asli was a Mafia boss? Hell, he would’ve killed Maxwell or his friends if they were in Asli’s place an hour ago.
She was gone and he was missing her. He laughed. He was doomed. He knew he could be doomed but now he knew he was. He certainly was.
He picked up his phone and contemplated calling her. "No, she should cool off first." He knew she was going to be pissed. He pointed a gun at her while she was defenseless and innocent.
Well, could she blame him? It was not as if she hadn’t done it before so why was he feeling guilty?
’Hey, let’s just say I am to punish you for your previous engagement with our missing shipments. Your punishment would have been greater than me pointing a gun at you and not even firing... so let’s call it even.’ the words danced in his head and for a moment he thought it made sense.
But after picking up his phone and staring at her number, he knew it was not a good idea.
What was he supposed to do? How was he supposed to call her and apologize? Was he that guilty when she was not innocent as well after all? Would she even pick up his calls?
