Chapter 72: “Where is my Cargo?”

Chapter Seventy-Two

"Put your gun down!" She yelled, only because she saw his fingers going to the trigger.

If he shot that gun and he missed, heaven would have to hold her down. "If you are going to shoot, make sure to kill me." She warned and his eyes didn’t flicker for a second.

This was a cold blooded Mafia. She had almost forgotten that. Ahmet was a monster just as she was and for him to point a gun at her like this could only mean she did not mean a thing to him.

Did he mean anything to her?

Yes.

Her rival. Her enemy. The son of her family’s killer. She was now remembering all that when he was pointing his gun at her.

"My Cargo!" He repeated like a mad man and she yelled back, "I don’t know where it is!" She didn’t even know he had any shipments arriving. She was so engrossed with what was going on between them that she did not even think about ways to annoy him like she would’ve usually done.

"You came here to find stuff, didn’t you? And I foolishly opened my doors to you. What was I thinking?" He laughed bitterly and positioned the gun well before her. "When I saw how you turned this room upside down, I should have thrown you out."

’Thrown me out?’ she asked herself. Did she ever tell him she had nowhere to stay? Well, if she had come to him then he was right to think she had nowhere to go. She told herself.

"I’m off to find it but pray, I do not find any proof you are behind it!" That was a warning and right now, she did not understand why she was feeling something other than killing someone. She wanted to cry. She did not know why. Oh, but she was not going to do that in front of her. She won’t give him that satisfaction.

Or was it that there was something wrong with her?

She had hijacked his stuff before and she wasn’t going to stop but why did it hurt seeing his reaction? Was it because she was innocent about this missing one? Or was it because of how close she thought they had gotten?

He left after wearing his dress. She sat silently while her eyes followed his every move. He looked angry and did not spare her a glance. Then, he left, banging the door on her.

Why did he not sack her? Why did he not throw her out? Why did he not drag her out? Was he not scared she’d do something again? If he was so sure she was being his missing cargo, why didn’t he throw her out?

Was he setting a trap for her?

************

Ahmet was furiously driving out of his compound. Among the seven cargos that were shipped, four were very important to him. He was yet to find out which Cargo was missing. He was not patient enough to hear it on the phone.

Maybe it was because he did not want to hear the answer over the phone. He was scared of what his anger would do if he found out it was among the four that she hijacked.

Did she think he was going to shoot her? The gun wasn’t even loaded. He was angry, yet he couldn’t do anything to her. Screw these feelings. ’Screw you, Asli!’ He thought to himself as he drove.

If this had happened before he ever saw her nakedness, he would’ve shot her or tried to kill her... fought her, maybe.

But now things were no longer like they used to. This was going to be bad when all she knew how to do was cause trouble.

Ahmet grabbed the steer tightly as he entered the Villa. He walked towards his men who stood there with dejected faces.

He forcefully and impatiently opened them one after the other. Before he could open the last one, he found the fourth important Cargo.

He sighed in relief. But still, someone stole his Cargo and only Asli had the guts to do that.

"I give you all three days to find it!" He ordered and walked away. He was angry right now, he did not think he would be able to see Asli again until he cooled off.

"You have been missing for some days now," Markus’ voice asked immediately after he entered the hall. A teasing smile on his face.

"Yeah. I’m regretting it now," he whispered while he walked past him. He was feeling betrayed.

"You know you can talk to me right?" Markus suddenly turned serious after seeing how off his cousin was.

Ahmet could tell him. He might not understand him. Nobody would. If they found out about him and Asli, they would chastise him.

Maybe Markus wouldn’t but was he ready to tell him? No, not yet. Markus joked about everything but would he still make a joke out of it?

"Yeah. But not yet." He told him and was grateful he didn’t push. He began to walk away.

"Right! I almost forgot. The shipment that arrived last night, I stole one." Markus casually informed him and he froze in his steps. What did he mean by that?

"I sent you a message to inform you. Did you not receive it?" He added and Ahmet swore he wanted to strangle him.

"Well, Asli was sick so her father gave me the order to steal the shipment. He thought it was just one so I picked the one least important to us." He was casual about it and Ahmet’s mouth was left ajar.

"Why are you surprised? I knew everything about the shipment so it was easy for me to change the delivery venue of one. I didn’t do much work."

Did he seriously think Ahmet was surprised at how good his stealing skills were?

"Markus, I could strangle you right now!" Ahmet yelled, his deep voice echoing through the room.

"I will find a way to bring it back." He told her while he scanned her over. "It’s not that serious." No, it was but how would he know that when he didn’t know he pointed a gun at her?

"It’s not about the Cargo!" He said through gritted teeth. What an impatient man he was.

"Well, if you had read your messages, you would’ve known the agenda. Besides, If they had not called you first to inform you, you wouldn’t have known one of them was missing. I added an extra three just in case the authorities were to stop and search through them. The four cargos were what we needed, I made sure they were delivered." Markus tried to defend. "Why are you so pressed anyway?"

"I don’t give a damn about them!" At this point, he didn’t care about the shipment. Which was strange because earlier, it was the disappearance of one that made him so angry, that he wanted to discipline her.

He usually checked his phone before he always left his room. Why did he not check this time around? Why was he so sure she was behind it? Could anyone blame him? Did she not turn his room upside down when he had returned?

Maybe he was blaming himself that he took that lightly and punished her that way instead of giving her a real punishment. But then, that would mean that she was guilty.

"Do you know how long it took for me to get her to lose her guard?" He revealed without thinking. "Do you know how..."

"What are you talking about?" Markus asked him. Curiosity plastered all over his face.

"Forget it, man." He waved his hand, dejectedly. Could he blame him? Marco had ordered Markus to do that and he himself hadn’t checked his messages before he got the call. He had blamed Asli when It was all his fault.

He groaned and made a u turn to the door. He was only hoping he would meet her there so he would apologize.

He knew she was not going to be there but he just wanted to be sure she had left... if she was innocent, he could only imagine what a mess she was creating in his apartment.

He did not really care about that as long as it would make her forgive him. Knowing her, she’d rather fight him than forgive him. He couldn’t believe this. How did he move from making love to her to pointing a gun at her? That too right after?

Who would blame him? She wasn’t exactly innocent. Only she would have the guts to do that.

He swore again, wanting to kick something... or someone, and by that someone, he meant his cousin.

Before he could hop into his car, Markus was already inside and wearing his seat belt.

Ahmet touched his forehead, massaging it. He was having a migraine and Markus was making it worse.

"Get out!" His voice echoed in the car and he didn’t even know why he shouted in that manner.

***********

I know @call_me_mirror would want to kick someone and by someone, I mean me. 😂
