Just before dinner, Alix took a picture of the three boys and she shared it with her husband. She was still in awe of the fact that they were all sitting together under one roof.

Alix: Hubby, we have teenage boys in the house, three of them. I have no idea what to talk to them about. ƒгeewёbnovel.com

"Elder sister, where is our brother-in-law?" Yuewei asked.

He was the talkative one of the three boys, filling in the gap where the other two remained silent. Alix appreciated it so much because otherwise it would be quiet the awkward event.

"He is working late." she answered.

Nanny Luo and nanny Wang brought food to the table. Wu Wei and Wu Gang jumped up out of the chairs suddenly.

"We would like to help." Wu Wei announced.

Beside him, Wu Gang nodded.

"There is no need, you sit and enjoy this meal." Nanny Wang told them. "You two are a little skinny, don’t be shy to eat."

She put a hand on Wu Wei’s head and gently rubbed it. Dotting, already filled her eyes.

Xiaobo came by like three times a week now and nanny Wang missed him. She was filling up the gap with the boys that Alix had brought over. In fact, she was overjoyed to hear that two of them would be staying permanently.

They were just about to start eating when Bi Cang came strolling into the dining room with guests. "Young madam, your auntie Mo__, parents are here." he announced.

Alix smiled and dropped her chop sticks. She got to her feet as her eyes met the sparkling ones of auntie Mo. As usual, the woman had a smile ready on her face for Alix. With her were Chairman Tai, Tai Ho Sun, and Tai Jiaan.

"Hey sis." Jiaan said casually and he went around Tai Ho Sun to join Yuewei. "Yo, what’s up." Alix heard Tai Jiaan greet Yuewei.

Alix raised her brows at his form of greeting while Ho Sun frowned. But none dwelled on it and Alix hurried over to embrace her parents.

"Mother, welcome to my home."

Auntie Mo beamed up further when Alix called her mother directly to her face. The soft hug which she was giving her hardened as she tightened her arms around Alix.

"Pretty baby." she called out happily. "Mother has surprised you, right? I dragged your father and brothers here to bring you some side dishes. Your father said that you enjoyed the bento so much."

Alix tilted her head and noticed that her brother, father and a maid from the main Tai residence were carrying packages. If these were all side dishes then Alix was surprised. It looked like Bi Cang and another guard were even bringing in more.

"Mother, exactly how many side dishes have you brought?"

They ended the hug and auntie Mo looked back at the things she had brought.

"I might have gone a little overboard."

"Overboard, woman, you bought out all the side dishes the Oriental hotel had on hand." Chairman Tai exposed her.

He walked around them and walked casually over to the dining table. He sat down across the four boys and they clammed up like they had been sharing secrets which didn’t need to fall into his ears.

"Mother, we will not be able to eat all this." Alix touched some of the items and sniffed others which were packed in lovely brown food boxes.

"Store some in the fridge, give others to your brother-in-law and share some with other members of the family." She whispered, "Especially your mother-in-law. I called to check in on her and she told me that she has already moved out of the main Zhang family house."

Alix nodded, confirming the truth of this news. Indeed, Yura had moved out of the mansion and she was now living in a luxury condo just ten minutes away from them.

She had refused to have a hose warming party but she planned to invite them all over for dinner sometime. As far as Alix knew, even Zhang An was moving out of the old mansion and their father had agreed to move in so that the elders would not be living alone. Na Na was going with him.

Even though Yura had removed herself from what Alix considered to be a toxic situation, she couldn’t tell if this was a victory or loss for her mother-in-law.

"She must be lonely living by herself. Divorce is very hard on women our age but she is beautiful and successful. If she wants to re-marry, I think it can happen for her. You should encourage her to do it. Her husband was presumed dead for over twenty years and she stayed faithful to his ghost. Nobody will frown if she decides to date immediately just because they have now separated."

"Mother, not here." Alix told her.

Nanny Wang kept coming closer and Alix was aware of how much the old nanny loved to know everything that happened in the house. She had probably heard auntie Mo mentioning Yura so she walked closer slowly to eavesdrop.

"Are you joining us for dinner?" she asked her.

Auntie Mo nodded. "I hope we are not bothering you since we came without a warning."

"You are my parents, you can drop in at any time." Alix told her.

"Where is my brother-in-law?" Ho Sun asked loudly. "What’s with all the games in your house sis and why do I hear birds chirping?"

"I have two canaries and one chicken." Alix responded.

Tai Ho Sun looked at her in wonder. The canaries were musical birds so sure, she could have them but a chicken! Who raised a chicken in a luxury apartment? They pooped and made a lot of noise.

"I have got to see this." his legs carried him in the direction of the chirping birds and nanny Wang followed him.

The boys and chairman Tai also followed, surprisingly.

Auntie Mo looked around, searching for the path which lead to the kitchen. "Did you buy the chicken for soup? Mother can help you stew it. Your brother is no stranger to killing one, I will tell him to help."

Alix was horrified and she drew her head back. The golden chicken which sometimes laid eggs that had gold nuggets. Eggs that could cure most stomach ailments and went for as much as five thousand coins in game currency and the virtual gaming world!!. That would be some expensive chicken stew, worth millions in real life currency at least.

"No, mother, my chicken is a pet." she crossed her arms and said loudly.

"We can buy another one from the market. How much do we need, five hundred yuan? I your mother can afford thousands of them." Auntie Mo said casually.

Killing a chicken worth hundreds of millions and replacing it with or thousands from this real world was not feasible in any way.

Alix eagerly turned her mother to face the kitchen and she said, "Mother, let’s go to the kitchen and put away the side dishes. You have never met nanny Luo too, right? She is in there and she will be eager to share stories and pictures of me as a child."

Successfully, she distracted auntie Mo and saved her chicken’s neck.
