The Emperor's Omega Is An Extra-Chapter 303: Awkward Position (2)
Chapter 303: Awkward Position (2)
When Levin nervously entered the room and stood just in front of Spade’s table after respectfully greeting him, neither of them spoke after that for a moment. freewebnøvel.coɱ
Spade was only sitting calmly on his seat while he was sitting on it leisurely, at least on the surface.
After pondering for a moment, he also realized how harsh he was toward Levin. He would never be indifferent to his cousin, someone he trusted with his back.
However, his rage wasn’t unfounded either. He was far consumed with his anger, and it so happened that Levin was there, and Spad had bent his anger on him.
"You’re here." Spade raised his head and looked at Levin.
Levin lowered his gaze and nodded.
"Yes... Y-Your Majesty."
Observing the alpha, Spade also knew that the guilt that was also tormenting him was being experienced by the other, if not more intense.
Spade sighed and clasped his hand, staring deeply at Levin, who had never once met his eyes.
He knew that this distance was inevitable. There were a lot of reasons and involvements why a change was almost certain to happen. Even with that, he was still sad to see this happen... for the second time.
Still, Spade’s mentality this time wasn’t as bad as the previous one; he could give a relatively reasonable mission rather than only sending Levin to his death under the guise of not wanting to kill him by his own hand.
"I called you this time to give further details about your mission." Spade didn’t beat around the bush and said his intentions directly. In their current situation, they couldn’t mend their relationship so easily.
There was guilt, confusion, doubts, and every other extreme factor preventing them from doing so. These knots needed to be undone first before they could gain the opportunity to fix everything, or at least what could still be fixed.
Levin only stood straight with his lower head, listening intently to what he had to say. Spade also didn’t urge him to continue.
"Your mission is still almost the same. But... You will need to cooperate with someone." Spade slowly gave the details, leaving no time for Levin to process them all at once.
This was a crucial time. Spade wanted to hand this matter to his most trusted aide, and at the same time, it was only him who needed to do this.
After listening to him, Levin’s head shot up with widened eyes. His face was filled with shock.
"T-This..." As he was about to say his opinion, Spade only shook his head, not wanting to hear him.
"Levin... I’ll be honest with you." Spade’s voice held heavy tension that shifted the uncomfortable atmosphere much further. He looked at him straight in the eyes. Spade also didn’t conceal the fury that was in his heart, which was reflected in his eyes.
Levin gulped, his hands trembling, being the other end of such gaze, but he couldn’t avert his eyes and met those gazes.
"We’ve been in an awkward position for some time. Things will only escalate from this moment on. Levin... I will not give him a chance. Again, I’m giving you a chance to make a choice. Are you still willing to fight by my side?"
This was undoubtedly much more than just an ultimatum that he once gave Levin. Was it cruel for him to do this? Spade knew that things could get much crueler than this.
Spade would strike first. He had to end this as soon as possible. Spade was giving Levin the cruel yet crucial choice: would he see the end with him by his side? Any of the choices carried a heavy consequence.

After Arren visited his father, who was also only deciding to leave the palace the next day since he had affairs he had to deal with, he didn’t stay there for long, though, as Arren also wanted to visit a place.
These past couple of days, Arren has only rested his mind without thinking of anything. His mind was relaxed, and so his emotions needed at least a buffer before he faced the horrible memories once more.
His appointments with Ms. M were just around the corner, and Arren had no intention of ignoring this for long. Still, that didn’t prevent him from strolling around the palace, however.
There were actually a lot of his memories that were uncovered, especially the nostalgia he had for the place that he once always visited as an excuse to see Spade in the past.
And there was something he wanted to visit the most.
It was probably almost five in the afternoon. Arren had traversed the same direction he once took a lot of times in the past. Of course, Arren had also visited it a few times in this current timeline as well.
The garden. It was a garden that had been part of his life before, where he experienced a lot of things, and most of them were related to Spade.
Most of them were happy memories, but some were sad ones.
Arren’s feet halted after a while, his gaze landing on a mini-garden he once stumbled on. Looking at it, the garden was no different from the garden in his memories when he was younger in the previous timeline.
It was small, and there were only a few flowers in there—not even bigger or that different from a few scattered gardens in the palace. Arren’s memories recalled the years of changes this garden was supposed to have.
The last time he saw the garden in his past memories, it was much bigger than this, and the flowers were more varied. Arren began to move forward and entered its vicinity, and at once he stopped once more.
The memories continued to pour into his mind. The single table at the center suddenly became the focus of his attention. Arren had once been seated there as well one time when he got lost in the palace not long ago, and he didn’t get any recollection of how important this place was to him.
Now, though, Arren’s heart swelled with emotional changes as the memories of the past made his feelings somewhat unstable. His steps were not fast, but he soon approached the table in just a few seconds. His fingers trailed on the table, and then he sat on the usual seat he was always sitting on.
His mind then wandered to the precious memories that were only deep within him.
Suddenly, Arren’s mouth was engulfed with a bitter taste of regret. It was only for a moment, though, as when he lifted his head and noticed a gaze on him, he immediately looked in the direction of the gaze.
Their eyes met for a few seconds, taking in all the memories that the garden had given them.
Gradually, Arren’s lips arched into such a bright smile that his eyes turned into a slit. He then waved to the alpha like he usually did in the past.
It was fine. Even if the past couldn’t be recreated, they could create more precious memories in the present and the future.
