Chapter 155 - Wanda and Company's Adventure P3

Wanda and Company's Adventure P3

Lupin woke up with a sharp headache. As he sat up, he remembered what had happened before he lost consciousness, so he immediately went on alert and looked around. However, his confusion grew as he saw three people calmly drinking tea not far away, chatting and laughing as if they were in their own home.

"Sorry... but who are you, and why are you in my house?" Lupin asked quickly, drawing the attention of the group.

"Hello, Professor! Don't you remember me? It's me, Wanda," the young woman said with a big smile, delighted to see him wake up.

Lupin observed her carefully before nodding.

"I remember... one of the Flamel twins," he murmured while rising from the cold floor. "But that doesn't explain why you're in my house... after hitting me."

"Sorry about the little assault on your home," Tonks interjected, quickly pulling out her badge. "I'm an Auror, and we're following a lead on a criminal."

"Criminal? Lead?" Lupin repeated, becoming more confused.

Tonks hesitated for a moment about whether to share the information and cast a glance of help at her companions.

"Well, Stephen said you were trustworthy," Rolf said calmly, as if that settled the matter.

"Then..." Tonks sighed and proceeded to explain everything to Lupin, while Wanda ignored the conversation and continued playing with Jefe.

After hearing the story, Lupin nodded in understanding and took a glass of water.

"I see... You're actually not far from those guys. I heard quite a bit of noise next door, but they moved in recently."

"Next door?" Wanda asked aloud.

Tonks and Rolf exchanged quick glances before turning towards her.

"So... you got the address wrong?" they asked in unison.

"Oops," Wanda replied with an innocent smile.

"Any other information you can share?" Tonks asked, trying to ignore her companion's mistake.

"Well... if I'm not mistaken, there was a goblin with them. He'd appear from time to time. Aside from that, nothing else," Lupin said, hoping they would leave his house soon.

"I see..." Wanda murmured, pulling something from her pocket and placing it in Lupin's hand.

The others' eyes widened in surprise at what it was.

"Hey! That's a gold ingot!" Rolf exclaimed, astonished.

"Yes. In the movies, they always pay informants with hard-to-track money," Wanda replied, confused by his reaction.

"No... I mean, yes, but... why the hell do you have a bloody gold ingot on you?" Tonks asked, incredulously.

"Because carrying so many coins is annoying," Wanda replied as if it was the most logical thing in the world. "Also, that's only 1% of my allowance."

"...How do you buy anything? I don't think you can pay with an ingot," Rolf said, feeling a migraine coming on.

"Duh. Most of the shops I buy from are owned by my family. Why would I pay?"

Rolf stared at her in silence before sighing in resignation.

"Knowing you exist makes me feel more stupid... Forget it."

Meanwhile, Jefe looked at the ingot in Lupin's hands with bright eyes, trying to free himself to grab it. Noticing this, Wanda pulled out another ingot and handed it to him without hesitation.

With great joy, the little Niffler stuffed it into his pocket.

The others, after a brief pause, simply chose to ignore it.

"Sorry, but this is too much money. I can't accept it," Lupin said, finally trying to return the ingot.

"I don't care, I already gave it to you," Wanda replied indifferently before walking out of the house, pulling Rolf and Tonks by the arms.

Lupin stared at the ingot, unsure of what to do with it.

...

Later, at the house next door, Tonks inspected the place, now empty.

"If they've already left, it'll be hard to find them," she said with a sigh.

"No problem, we just need to find some hair," Wanda said confidently.

Rolf, immediately understanding what she meant, headed to the rooms to search.

"Hair?" Tonks asked, not understanding. freeweɓnovel.cѳm

Rolf briefly explained the idea, after which she also began searching.

After several minutes, they managed to find some hair that could work.

"Alright, time to find Stephen," Wanda said with enthusiasm.

"Wait!" Tonks exclaimed.

"What's wrong?"

"Is it okay if... I wait from afar? I don't want the instructor to notice I'm not at work..." she said nervously.

Wanda looked at her seriously.

"Do you seriously think that bald monster won't notice you snuck off to follow us?"

Tonks paled.

"Urgh..." she realized she was right. Stephen had many ways of discovering her absence, so she ended up following them with her head down.

...

Stephen looked at them with a frown and sighed, massaging his temples.

"So now you're a team made up of... the troublesome idiot, the clumsy one who escaped from work, a Niffler trying to steal the Philosopher's Stone while we're talking, and... well, Rolf is relatively normal."

As he spoke, he waved his hand, and Jefe floated in the air before he could grab anything.

"By the way, Tonks, I didn't know you skipped work. When you're done playing with them, you'll have plenty of paperwork to catch up on," he added with a cynical smile, taking the bag of hair from Rolf's hands.

"What?!" Tonks exclaimed, turning to look at Wanda, who immediately pretended to be very interested in the ceiling.

"Being normal is good, right?" Rolf whispered quietly.

Stephen tossed them some notes.

"Here are the addresses. And don't get into trouble."

Then, he grabbed his coat and headed for the door.

"Don't you want to come with us? You'd be a big help... especially to me," Rolf asked.

Wanda and Tonks frantically shook their heads behind him.

"No. I have a date with my beautiful girlfriend," Stephen said with a big smile as he walked toward the door. "Beautiful. Girlfriend."

"We've heard you," Wanda muttered with annoyance.

Ignoring them, everyone checked the papers with the addresses and names.

"Looks like we've got them," Wanda said with a smile, seeing that all the targets were in the same place.

Without wasting any time, they set off.

....

After arriving at the marked address, the group found themselves in front of an old, dilapidated farm. From their hiding spot not far away, they watched as several wizards entered and exited, carrying cages filled with Nifflers.

Chief, seeing his companions trapped, began struggling with all his might to go rescue them, but Wanda quickly grabbed him before he could ruin their stealth.

"Calm down, Chief! We'll save them!" she whispered, trying to soothe the little Niffler, who stared at the cages with tearful, dramatic eyes, as if he were starring in a Shakespearean tragedy.

"There are quite a few this time... We can't do the same as before," Tonks said with concern, casting a glance at Wanda, clearly remembering her history of improvised and explosive plans.

"Especially because we could hurt the Nifflers in the fight..." Wanda added with unusual seriousness.

The group fell silent, thinking of a strategy. Chief, for his part, kept staring at the other Nifflers with the determination of an action hero, ready for battle.

Looking at Chief, Wanda had an idea. She quickly set him down on the ground and began removing several buttons, hairpins, and even a small necklace, placing them on Chief.

"What are you doing?" Tonks asked quickly.

"Putting my protective tools on Chief," Wanda replied hurriedly. Then she pulled out a ball that looked very magical, glowing with all kinds of colors, giving it a dangerously ostentatious appearance.

"Hey... you're not going to make me put a grenade in there or something, are you?" Rolf asked with concern.

"Yes, it's like a grenade, but it will disarm everyone within a 10-meter radius. At that moment, we can strike in the chaos. I stole it from my grandfather," Wanda explained quickly.

"Listen, Chief. You don't have to let them see you. Put this in the middle of the room and then leave quickly, okay?" Wanda said seriously as Chief stared at her.

"Do you think he'll understand?" Tonks asked skeptically.

"Well, Wanda and Stephen are a bit special, and for some reason, animals love them... so there might be a chance," Rolf commented seriously.

The three of them watched as Chief ran toward the hideout, avoiding the spots where the guards were and entering through a hole.

"I hope he pulls it off and doesn't get caught," Tonks said worriedly.

"Don't worry. With the protective tools I gave him, if they attack him, he could end up destroying everything within a 50-meter radius," Wanda quickly responded.

"Wait... the real bomb was all that stuff you put on him?" Tonks exclaimed, scared.

"It looks like they've figured it out," Rolf said seriously as he saw the guards quickly entering.

"Prepare to rescue him!" Tonks said, more concerned about the accidental activation of the protective tools.

They all prepared to take action, but suddenly they saw Chief running out, with several wizards chasing him, casting spells at him. However, the protective tools activated several magical shields to defend him.

"Great! Not only did he manage to leave the disarming bomb, but he gathered them all at the entrance," Wanda quickly said, pulling out another tool and activating the bomb.

Immediately, a kind of dome formed for an instant, and in the blink of an eye, all the wizards chasing Chief watched as their wands flew out of their hands.

"Now," Wanda said as she used her magic to fly toward the confused wizards, while Tonks and Rolf quickly started casting spells as they ran toward them.

The attack began immediately. Wanda dove down, launching waves of energy that knocked down the wizards without causing permanent damage. Tonks and Rolf, for their part, attacked with stunning spells, making sure to incapacitate the enemies before they could react.

Chief, still surrounded by his protective shield, zigzagged through the lost spells with impressive agility, letting out small victory shouts every time one of his pursuers tripped over their own robes or was hit by a spell.

"Let's go, we have to free the Nifflers before reinforcements arrive!" Rolf shouted, casting an immobilization spell on a wizard who was trying to retrieve his wand.

Wanda nodded and ran toward the main structure. With a quick movement of her hand, she broke the door. Upon entering, she saw dozens of stacked cages, each one with Nifflers staring at her with big, bright eyes, some more dramatic than others.

"Calm down, guys! Your savior is here!" she said with a confident smile as she waved her hands, using magic to unlock the cages.

The Nifflers didn't waste any time. As soon as the doors opened, they shot out like a whirlwind of furry chaos. Some ran toward the exit, others began to loot the wizards' storage, and a few stayed looking at Wanda with a sort of devotion, as if waiting for orders.

"Hey, Chief, tell your friends to run!" Wanda said while helping a particularly chubby Niffler, who seemed stuck in its cage.

Chief struck a heroic pose and let out an energetic "Kiiiiii!", which somehow seemed to be enough for the rest of the Nifflers to understand the mission.

Meanwhile, outside, Tonks and Rolf continued the battle. Although the disarming bomb had left most of the wizards without wands, some were still trying to fight using more rudimentary methods.

"Don't let them get their wands back!" Rolf shouted, punching one with a well-placed blow.

"You don't need to tell me twice!" Tonks replied, then dealt a blow using blue magic arms she had learned from Stephen, hitting two wizards at once.

At that moment, Wanda ran out of the building with Chief and the Nifflers behind her.

"Mission accomplished!" she announced.

The remaining wizards tried to react, but amidst the chaos of the Nifflers running everywhere, the lack of wands, and the onslaught of Tonks and Rolf, they soon realized that the battle was lost.

"We're out of here!" Wanda shouted as she used her magic to raise a barrier behind them, preventing the wizards from following.

The group ran toward the nearby forest, the Nifflers following them in a crowd, until they were finally far enough to stop and catch their breath.

"Well... that went better than expected," Rolf said, panting.

"Yeah, and without any unnecessary explosions," Tonks commented, giving Wanda a suspicious glance.

"Hey! I don't always blow things up."

Rolf and Tonks looked at her skeptically.

"Well... almost always."

Chief jumped excitedly onto Wanda, rubbing against her in gratitude.

"Yeah, yeah, you're welcome, Chief," Wanda said, laughing as she scratched his head. Then she looked at the rest of the group. "Now, what do we do with this invasion of Nifflers following us?"

The rest of the team remained silent, watching the Nifflers eye them with curiosity, some still carrying boots from their escape.

"Well, I have a place for them," a voice said, making them nervous. They all turned to find Stephen with a smile, a goblin tied up behind him, squirming like a worm on the ground.

.....

"In the end, the greedy goblin who had been fired from the Gringotts bank was using the Nifflers to amass a fortune. And although his plan worked for a while, we quickly discovered his evil intentions. Now, all those wizards, including the goblin, are working in one of our family's mines," Wanda said dramatically, surrounded by a group of children listening with wide, excited, and interested eyes.

On her lap, a small version of Fleur, still in diapers, played with a strand of her hair, completely oblivious to the story.

"One question, auntie!" suddenly interrupted one of the older girls.

"Go ahead, Rose," Wanda replied with a smile.

"If Grandpa is the creator of the Philosopher's Stone... why do we have a mine?" the girl asked curiously, pointing to the large chimney where, like a trophy, a glowing red stone floated.

Wanda smiled mischievously and, with a gleam of malice in her eyes, answered,

"That's an easy answer... To send our enemies to work there."

The silence lasted a second before the children burst into laughter, delighted by the story and Wanda's response.
