Rebirth as The Billionaire's Seventh Wife-Chapter 175: Ring?
Chapter 175: Ring?
Once her heart settled, Aurora continued...
"There is no way my father wants to get rid of his own child, right?" she asked, her voice shaking as she fought to hold back her emotions.
Alex remained silent for a moment. He also thought like Aurora. There’s no way Thomas Moon would do something so cruel unless he had lost his mind.
"Rory, I agree with you. I’ll talk to your father first..."
Aurora clutched Alex’s hand, interrupting him before he could complete his sentence: "Alex, are you going to share my story? My rebirth? Please don’t!"
"Of course not..." Alex chuckled softly as he patted her hand gently. "Besides, didn’t you mention that no one can learn about your rebirth if they don’t believe in it?"
"Yeah, you’re right." Aurora feels relieved.
As much as she wanted her father to know about her rebirth, she decided against it, at least for now. He is still staying in the Graystone family’s house, worried that it will endanger his life, too.
"I plan to chat with your dad about the phone call. Don’t worry, I have a good way to approach him," Alex said as he outlined his plan.
Eventually, Alex wrapped up his plan, saying, "Rory, you might not know this, but I also looked into your accident, and it was your father who actually prompted me to do so."
"He did!?" Aurora asked in surprise.
She had already suspected it, knowing that her father and Alex wouldn’t easily accept that her accident was simple.
"Yes, that’s why I started investigating. But just like you, I can’t find the clue. I still can’t find where the truck driver is, while my people are still searching for him out there. If you didn’t tell me that he had died."
Alex shook his head, feeling embarrassed. This is why he relied on her so much: she could accomplish what his other team members couldn’t.
"Rory, do you have any questions about my plan?"
Alex’s question brought Aurora back to the moment, pulling her away from the worry weighing her mind about her father’s safety.
"Yes," Aurora nodded, her eyes shining with concern that caught Alex’s attention again. "Alex, could you please bring my father here? I want him to stay with us. Please..."
Alex’s eyes widened in surprise at Aurora’s request, but a warm smile spread across his face just a moment later.
He playfully tousled her hair before asking, "Rory, how did you know what I was thinking?"
"Really? Are you considering having my father move in with us, too?" Aurora’s heart swelled with happiness at his kindness. "You are so sweet, thank—"
Alex’s lips sealed Aurora’s lips before she could finish her sentence. She was shocked, but she was helpless against his warm kiss. She could only accept his kiss with the same passion he offered.
Just as Aurora felt she was about to die from lack of oxygen, Alex gradually withdrew his kiss and looked at her lovingly. His blue eyes seemed to harbor a desire to devour her.
Aurora felt like a drowning person gasping for breath as she inhaled the fresh air. Her tear-filled eyes met his, and he smiled while softly rubbing her lips with his thumb.
She couldn’t believe this man had just kissed her passionately during their conversation. And surprisingly, his kiss felt different from before. She sensed that he was no longer holding back; he was more passionate now.
Rory, this is definitely the best kiss I’ve ever had!" His eyes shone with pure excitement.
Aurora, "..."
She felt too worried to say anything, afraid that this man might take her to bed now.
However, Aurora was mistaken, as Alex didn’t even look at the bed; he suddenly stood up and exited the room, saying, "Wait a minute, I have something to give you..."
’Huh!? Why did he suddenly leave?’ Aurora felt confused as she watched him leave the room.
Soon after Alex returned, he handed her a small velvet box she recognized, making her heart race.
"Rory, this is the birthday gift I’ve prepared for you," he said, settling back beside her. "I will never forget your birthday, Rory. I know it; I just like to tease you that evening. But I regret upsetting you..."
"I forgive you, Alex..." Aurora smiled and accepted the box. She wasn’t surprised to see the box, because she had seen it in his office desk drawer a few weeks ago.
"Thank you, Rory!" Alex said excitedly, "Alright, hurry, open it..."
Aurora was stunned to find what was inside the box. She realized it was the ring she had selected all by herself when Alex asked her to choose a suitable one for his future wife.
Alex’s words lingered in her mind a few days before her accident, when he asked her to choose the diamond ring. "Choose the one you think is nice, expensive, and you like the most."
She turned to Alex and asked, "Isn’t this ring for your future wife? Why did you give it to me?"
"I plan to give it to you, Rory. That’s why I asked for your choice." He smiled with pride.
When he noticed her astonished expression and watery eyes, he realized she was likely overwhelmed with joy. However, he felt a lump in his throat at her next question.
"Didn’t you agree to marry Aurora Spencer when you asked me to choose this ring? So, is this really for her?" Aurora inquired.
Alex couldn’t help but smile even more as he gently held her hand and took the ring from her. Before sliding it onto her finger, he gazed deeply into her eyes and said, "You are Aurora Spencer!"
"I know. But why did you want to give it to me on my birthday?"
Though Alex didn’t respond to her immediately, he lovingly slid the ring onto her finger.
After softly kissing her hand, he looked into her eyes again. "This ring is yours because I never planned to marry her for real, Rory. You remember what happened the first time we met, right?"
She nods, recalling the two-year marriage contract he had offered her.
