Chapter 108: The Majestic Villa Of The Ice King

(Arata)

The car came to a halt outside a grand villa. I had expected anything but this. Instead of being constructed in different shades of black the exterior was a symphony of cool, calming blues, ranging from soft cerulean to deep sapphire, creating a serene and enchanting facade.

I could only imagine how it would appear in the daylight.

Nothing but an architectural marvel that seamlessly blended contemporary design with whimsical, otherworldly elements.

I watched mesmerised through the rolled-down car window.

The villa’s structure was a harmonious mix of sleek, modern lines and organic, flowing shapes. The walls were adorned with stylish iridescent blue tiles that shimmered in the sunlight, giving the impression of a cascading waterfall frozen in time.

Large, floor-to-ceiling windows were framed with delicate, azure-tinted glass, allowing natural light to flood the interior while maintaining a sense of privacy.

My eyes shifted up towards the roof. It was a masterpiece of design, resembling the undulating waves of the ocean, with overlapping layers of blue slate. At the pinnacle of the roof, a crystal-clear skylight could be seen. It must allow the natural light to filter through and create a magical aura.

The huge iron gate painted in deep blue with detailed designs of flowers opened and the car entered the massive grounds.

Olphi opened the door for me, and I stepped out on the cobalt tiles. My stunned eyes wandered towards the well-kept gardens.

The lush landscape was filled with blue flowers and plants, including roses, hydrangeas, and bluebells. A winding path of blue stone led to a sparkling, infinity-edge pool that seemed to merge with the sky.

I was so lost in the beauty of his place that I didn’t even realise he had come and halted beside me.

"Welcome to my humble abode. I hope you find it satisfactory."

I sharply turned to face him.

"You got to be kidding. This is breathtaking," I blurted out and his lips tugged to reveal a tiny smile.

"Let me take you inside. Come." He guided me forward.

I observed that the entrance was a grand, arched doorway framed by cascading vines of blue hydrangeas and wisteria. The door opened leading into a spacious foyer with a mosaic floor that depicted a swirling, abstract seascape.

The interior continued the blue theme, with walls painted in soft, muted tones of aqua and turquoise, accented by bold, cobalt blue furnishings and decor.

Seemed like some interior designer didn’t get the memo and used his own imagination to create a blue heaven.

We moved ahead towards the living room and I was left even more stunned. It featured a central fireplace with a mantelpiece made of polished lapis lazuli, surrounded by plush, navy blue sofas and chairs upholstered in luxurious velvet. A large, abstract painting of the ocean and white sand dominated one wall; its deep blues and whites evoked the tranquillity of the sea.

Breathtaking, everything in this place was breathtaking.

"Let me show you the kitchen. A chef will always be available and you can also get whatever you desire," he softly said, seeing me lost in the beauty of this majestic place.

I barely nodded and moved like a mindless dummy.

We moved towards the kitchen. It surely was a chef’s dream, with sleek, blue-grey cabinetry and countertops made of polished blue granite. A large, central island was topped with a slab of shimmering blue quartz, and the backsplash was a mosaic of tiny, hand-painted tiles in various shades of blue.

Every modern electronic had been elegantly fitted on the countertops.

"It’s marvellous," I commented, tearing my eyes away from the kitchen.

"It’s at your service. Feel at home and use whatever you like."

Thankfully I nodded at him. He seemed rather relaxed inside his place, even proud, but in a pleasant way, not the usual haughty way he came across in the office.

"Come, I will show you to your room," he offered, and I followed him out into the main hall.

The imperial staircase, which winded towards the upper floor of the villa, featured two sweeping flights that rose symmetrically from the ground floor and met at the central landing of the first.

The entire structure was a masterpiece of design, with deep blue railings made of intricately wrought iron, adorned with elegant silver colours. The sophisticated patterns shimmered under the soft chandelier lighting.

We began climbing and I observed how the steps were crafted from polished blue marble, veined with lighter shades to create a luxurious yet cohesive look.

The balustrades curved gracefully, each post topped with ornate blue crystal finials that caught and reflected the ambient light. The walls flanking the staircase featured royal blue panelling with black and silver inlays, complementing the rich hues of the stairs.

My eyes slowly drifted upwards to find the vast ceiling painted with a celestial scene in varying shades of blue, depicting swirling clouds and adding to the staircase’s dreamy ambience.

The entire staircase seemed to be a doorway to a fantasy book I loved to read on Webnovel.

I knew he was rich but the man got taste like the real taste.

We arrived at the blue-painted door which had a huge diamond-shaped embedded as its focal point. Its rich, deep cobalt hue was reminiscent of the ocean at twilight, inviting curiosity and wonder.

The paint on the door had a subtle, velvety matte finish, giving it a modern yet timeless appeal.

"Put your hand on the crystal," Karsten instructed and very intrigued I did as he had asked. The crystal felt warm under my fingers and began to glow with a faint cyan light.

"Lean closer and say enter," he asked, facing me.

Again, I obeyed, and the door clicked open.

"Your voice has been recorded in it. Only you can access your room and whomever you give the command to enter. No one else can access your room without your permission," he explained.

Mesmerised, I only nodded for I had never seen such a system before.

Karsten had beautifully merged modernity with antique and retro-classic style.

I was impressed, this was the most beautiful villa I had ever seen and I had seen a lot of them.

The door opened and I took a step inside to inspect the guest bedroom he had offered me.
