My CEO Boss Is A Masked Internet Sensation-Chapter 107: Will He Convince Her?
Chapter 107: Will He Convince Her?
(Arata)
Live with him?
ABSOLUTELY THE FUCK NOT, in capital letters.
For all I knew, he had a string of lovers he invited to his home on weekends, and by no means was I comfortable seeing or hearing any of the wild meetings he had with them.
A part of me was jealous and apprehensive too. He certainly knew I had someone for casual sex. He could purposely tease me by bringing a woman along.
"Is that what you are afraid of? Or are you just jealous?" He cocked his head at me, and those deep swirling orbs of his stared back at me in amusement.
Quickly, I became defensive and narrowed my eyes.
"Why would I be jealous?"
He let a teasing snort fall through his full lips.
Tempting, why were his lips so tempting?
"What if I make a promise that I will not bring any woman home as long as you are staying with me?"
He extended his large, callous hand towards me to make a promise, but I wasn’t done yet and asked.
"What about my privacy? And if I need to go out? I know you are going to hold me hostage."
He let his head shake and his lips slightly flattened.
"I will not invade your privacy and either Olphi or Caysir will take you wherever you wish to go in my car." I know why he insisted on his car. While mine had only bulletproof glass, his whole car was bulletproof. He was thinking and planning way ahead and too seriously.
I knew this would make it almost impossible for me to meet Azul but I had been having doubts about him. Even though my heart didn’t agree that he had any hand in this, my head wanted me to be careful and trust Karsten.
Arguing with him was going to be fruitless because he loved to win arguments and enforce his decisions, it was part of who he was.
Dominating and mastermind, at times controlling too.
"What about your family visiting you?" I asked next.
"You are my girlfriend in their eyes. It will only be natural if you will be living with me. Besides, I can handle my family," he calmly answered, trying to assuage all my fears. His hand was resting near my leg now but not touching it.
"What about my family?"
"Well, now that you are living alone. They will surely call ahead before visiting because only you can let them in. So when they do, I will drop you here. Your apartment will remain as it is. Caysir will keep it clean and ready for whenever it will be needed."
See, the snowman had an answer to every question I posted. While I was running out of them, he appeared as calm as a cucumber, ready for more.
So casually he dropped the next words.
"And if you need any help unwinding. We can always practice kissing," he shamelessly offered, making my earlobes burn and turn red. I snatched away my gaze from his challenging one and mumbled in embarrassment.
"Dream on but no."
He clicked his tongue.
"Too bad, it sounds like I am a bad kisser." He was far from that. His kisses were soul-melting. For a man so cold, who didn’t believe in love, he certainly knew how to make a woman swoon with his lips.
He leaned in, so close. His eyes dipped to my lips as if he wished for a taste, and I could smell those whisky notes that muddled my thoughts.
Picking up a lock of my hair, he gently tugged it behind my ear. His rough fingertips brushed against my soft skin and goosebumps coasted all over my skin.
The sharp contours of his face I observed one by one. With every gaze, my heartbeat increased a fraction until it was the only sound pounding in my ears.
"We need to move, Arata. Like I said, you are my responsibility and I have to keep you safe. Come willingly or I will have to whisk you away, girlfriend." His voice had never sounded so smoky, so velvety and so demanding. I should have said no and pushed him away, but lost staring in those bottomless pits of his I found myself nodding.
He triumphantly smirked and patted my head as if I had answered a simple math sum like two plus two is four.
"Sometimes you become such a good girl. Go pack now so we can head over." With that, he leaned back and I had no option but to get up and head over to my room.
My heart was still racing as if it was participating in a bloody marathon.
Why did this man have such an effect on me?
I took out two suitcases and threw in my clothes, makeup, toiletries, shoes, books and a spare towel. I would take along the necessary stuff and could always get the rest later.
The packed luggage I had brought along will go as it is.
A few hours later, I was ready to head over to my boss’s house.
Who would have thought that when I left Angel City this morning, I would have to shift with Mr. Iceberg?
Ah! well. Recently, life had only been throwing curve balls my way.
"Ready?" Karsten asked, seeing me all packed up and I sadly nodded.
"You will like my place," he assured.
Olphi and Caysir got my stuff and soon we were back into his car and heading towards his house.
I had never seen his place and wondered what kind of house he lived in.
Was it an all-black castle with an Ice prison to hold the people who defied him?
If he had been born in medieval times, I was sure he would be a king who owned a dungeon to throw all his enemies in or people who dared to question him.
The thought of him wearing a crown and ridiculously heavy jewelled clothes while sitting on a throne flashed in my mind and I was hardly able to contain my laughter.
Karsten the Ice King.
Karsten Chevalier, the first of his name, the Lord of the Permafrost, the Owner of the Glaciers, the one with ice in his veins.
I snickered with all these ridiculous names.
