My CEO Boss Is A Masked Internet Sensation-Chapter 106: Karsten’s Impossible Suggestion
Chapter 106: Karsten’s Impossible Suggestion
(Karsten)
I tried to keep my emotions in check when I saw her emerge from the private terminal, wearing a periwinkle sweater and a white skirt. A colourful scarf covered her hair as it swayed in the cold evening wind. I wished to yank it away and feel those silken tendrils between my fingers.
Why was she so fucking beautiful?
My eyes betrayed me as they refused to shift from her face and dipped to her fresh tulip lips. The coffee in my hand was left forgotten as I answered her greeting.
"Welcome back, Arata."
Caysir opened the door for us and I let her settle in first before entering the car from the other side.
Once the car began to move I turned my head to face her.
She seemed nervous, why?
Her leg was moving and she was clutching her skirt too tightly. Something was wrong.
"How was your trip?" I casually asked and her attention was turned to me.
"Good, we made some precious memories. My family was overjoyed to see me," she answered with a fake smile. I could sense she was holding herself back. There was more she wished to speak.
Her body betrayed her, I understood it perfectly now.
"Is anything the matter?" I asked, watching her closely, and her eyes wavered to the front and then returned. Insecurities stared back at me, flashing like a beacon in them, summoning me.
"Can we speak in private?" she asked, quietly.
"Of course, I need to discuss tomorrow’s event as well, so let’s grab some food, and we will have a conversation at your place."
I told Caysir and Olphi to grab takeout on the way. She remained restless throughout the journey, and although she tried to fake composure, it didn’t work as I could read her. Once we arrived at her apartment, she let us in. Olphi and Caysir dropped the luggage and food and went outside, giving us privacy.
She took off her scarf and eased into her lounger. I did the same, keeping my curious gaze on her.
Taking out her cell phone, Arata clicked on it twice and then extended it towards me. She solemnly stated.
"I received another threat."
Every muscle in my body went rigid as I grabbed the phone and began to read what she was trying to show me.
The bloody audacity of this man, he had even acquired her number and was now threatening her through text messages.
He had even written her full name at the bottom, her real name. I smashed my teeth against each other as anger bubbled inside me.
She calmly spoke but I could detect the sadness and disappointment her words held.
"As you can see and deduce from this text. In reality, I am Arata Zyair. I had used a fake name to secure a job with your company to just see if I would be accepted without my family name. My parents are Zyair Kincaid and Skyla Zyair, the owners of Kincaid International of Angel City."
I turned my face towards her and she was watching me with an apologetic look. I wished to tell her that I had always known. That her hiring was on purpose. The text she had received from us was not random but meticulously planned, but I held my tongue.
"I see. So were you testing me?" I carefully asked.
"I was merely trying to find myself, Karsten. To see where I stood as a woman with no powerful name, and your company accepted me, you accepted me. I am grateful but I can’t hold that fake identity any longer." She shook her head filled with gorgeous vermilion hair. "Someone out there knows and can expose me at any time. It was better coming from me than some random psycho," she explained with a sad sigh.
Lost and slightly broken, she seemed and I wished to hold her.
"If you want to fire me after learning this, I will understand because I can’t live in fear anymore." She lowered her head and shook it. Her red locks swirled left and right, catching the artificial light.
"Arata," I gently called her. Reaching with my hand, I tipped her chin up so she would look at me. There was no way I was ever letting her go, especially not when she was in such a situation.
"I am not going to fire you but protect you. This asshole is done harassing you." My thumb gently rubbed her chin. Vibrancy returned to her saddened eyes.
"But remember, I will not treat you differently just because you are the daughter of the most powerful couple in Angel City. You will still be fetching my coffee and running the thousand errands I will be giving you."
Now she fully smiled, her face brightened like a spring flower. Her kissable lips spread out revealing her pearly teeth to me.
"I expect nothing less from my haughty boss," she answered with her usual naughtiness. But I knew my next words might not sit right with her.
"Good, you shouldn’t. But, I am not going to let you live alone anymore. Not until this freak is caught. Therefore, you are moving in with me. Today," I announced and her naughty smile disappeared. A cute scowl descended on her face.
She snatched her face away from my hold.
"What? No way. You have already placed Caysir on my head, I can’t live with you." She protectively crossed her arms and stared at me with bunched-up brows.
I slowly shook my head. She was going to test my patience, a lot of my patience. She acted like a petulant spoiled child at times.
"Arata, he has your number. From what I have gathered so far, he pretty much knows a lot about your family and is having you followed. Here as well as in Angel City. You are not safe, he can have you attacked and I can’t let you take that risk. So, please, listen to me."
Her pout didn’t disappear but her next words did put a smile on my face. I had to fight back a snort. This girl would be the death of me.
"Right, so I can see and listen to you having a go with other women? Hell, no. I can’t put myself through that torture."
Is that what she was afraid of? That I would bring home women and she would have to hear me having sex with them.
Seemed like my blue rose was jealous. If I had been in my other persona, I would have claimed those pouting lips of hers and assured that nothing of the sort would ever happen.
Right now, she was the only woman I wished to touch and pound into.
Only if she knew.
