Chapter 1347: Draconic Intimidation

It seemed that the monsters felt Rain’s approach and quickly looked at him... they fired yellow beams of liquid toward him, but he sidestepped and avoided those... the metallic floor that was hit by the attacks immediately melted, and that showed the power of those beasts.

"Focus on the big guys with no long-ranged attacks," Rain said via Telepathy toward his friends, and then he threw the javelin to Seara. "I will deal with the scorpions. Work together with Sealyn to keep the snakes busy."

In the next moment, Rain flew toward the beasts in a straight line, and when they used the same attack to keep him at bay, Rain just blocked with the ominous sword. The weight of the attack slowed him down a bit, but soon Rain realized that the weapon was fine.

In the next moment, Rain disappeared, and then one of the monsters suddenly stopped moving and flinched... before long, the tail of the beast began to fall off, only then to spin around and then be tossed toward another giant Scorpion that was hit and got dizzy for a moment.

Using the part of the tail that was exposed, Rain attacked the first giant Scorpion with the ominous Sword and kept destroying its exoskeleton until it reached the head of the creature... The monster stopped moving for a moment, but soon Rain saw the damage he had caused being repaired...

"The gem is still weak, so it didn’t take that much mana..." Rain though. "As long as it has enough mana, it will be able to repair itself quite a bit."

It was a pain, but Rain tried again... he used Impulse to the side and then lowered his stance and tensed his legs. When the other monsters tried to target him, Rain let his energy explode and then disappeared... in the next moment, half of the head of the monster was severed and cut off from the body of the monster... still, the head soon began to return to its original position.

"Ah, fuck it..." Rain said.

With a precise touch of the ominous sword, Rain directed a chilling power toward the severed head of the giant scorpion. As the icy tendrils encased the decapitated appendage, a frigid aura enveloped it, locking it in place within a sheath of dark ice.

Before long, the frozen head began to crack under the intense pressure, its icy prison unable to contain the force within. With a resounding shatter, the frozen head fragmented into countless pieces, scattering across the metallic floor like shards of crystalline glass.

"So much time wasted agaisnt a single one of those fuckers..." Rain thought.

As Rain turned his attention to the next target, he witnessed a sudden sea engulfing the area, transforming the metallic landscape into a shimmering sea. In the wake of this watery onslaught, a barrage of lightning bolts descended from the heavens, striking the drenched monsters with electrifying precision. Paralyzed by the shocking assault, the creatures were left vulnerable and incapacitated, allowing the warriors to descend upon them with relentless force.

Empowered by their newfound strength and resolve, the warriors unleashed a coordinated barrage of attacks, their weapons cutting through the air with deadly efficiency. Despite their enhanced abilities, the battle still raged on for some time as they worked tirelessly to vanquish the formidable foes before them. Still, even they had to fight for a while to cause real damage...

"They are using the skills that help their allies become a bit stronger... but the range is limited, I guess..." Rain thought. "Still, we can only keep fighting until Iori finishes making most of the people here retreat."

The group was suffering some heavy losses, but Rain could tell some wounded people were disappearing quite fast. Iori was making them vanish first in order to avoid further casualties... to avoid that even further, Rain decided to go all out.

While holding his sword, Rain put his hands together, and then he used his secret technique on one of the giant scorpions... in the next moment, a dark rain fell on the head of one of the beasts and immediately smashed it.

"... I was planning to wound them enough to steal their mana, but this can be useful," Rain thought while smirking.

Rain looked in another direction and then chose another target for his secret technique. The monster tried to run away, but with a body of that size, it failed to do so fast enough. The creature was killed, and then another skill of the dragon slayer path reached level 100.

Level 15: Draconic Intimidation - Master the ability to project a commanding presence, intimidating dragons and disrupting their focus. Decreases the parameters of dragons in the area by one thousand points per level.

Rain’s mood sure was improving fast... he immediately equipped the skill and kept attacking the monsters around. To the point that he even let some monsters hit him with their attacks... all in order to attack them at the same time and faster...

With each successive attack, Rain’s keen awareness noted a gradual decline in the power of the shadow enveloping his form. The corrosive acid emanating from the monsters’ attacks began to eat away at his clothes and flesh, akin to a swarm of relentless creatures devouring his skin. The sensation was visceral, each impact inflicting tangible damage as if countless tiny predators were feasting upon him.

Despite his formidable prowess and relentless assault on the monsters, Rain couldn’t ignore the debilitating effect of the acid’s relentless assault. As his clothes disintegrated and his flesh bore the brunt of the acidic onslaught, he knew he had to act swiftly to mitigate the damage and press on with his offensive.

"Time for some improvisation..." Rain thought.
