Chapter 1346: First dragons

"Look for any information regarding their..." Rain said.

Before Rain could finish his sentence, the entire world around them began to tremble violently. It was not the familiar sensation of being struck by a mana cannon capable of obliterating everything in its path with a single devastating blow. Instead, the tremors came in rapid succession, as if the ground itself was being pummeled by a relentless barrage of impacts.

With each tremor, the earth quaked, and buildings swayed precariously, threatening to collapse under the relentless onslaught. The air was filled with the deafening roar of destruction as the relentless barrage continued unabated, shaking the very foundations of their surroundings.

Rain showed an alarmed glance, realizing that he was facing a threat far more immediate and unpredictable than anything they had encountered before. Whatever was causing the relentless barrage of impacts, it was clear that their situation had taken a sudden and perilous turn for the worse.

"Numerous powerful sources of energy landed on the planet, and they have high concentrations of corrupt energy as well..." Sakaki said.

In response to those words, Elisabetha’s anger began to leave the ominous sword like a much denser miasma. It looked like the high level of the Wrath’s path was affecting her as well... Considering Sakaki’s words, it seemed that a bunch of first dragons had arrived on the planet... and the battle didn’t even last for half an hour.

"... Can you tell if they know what we searched here or if they can tell that we hacked their database?" Rain asked.

"They won’t if you steal all the mana here," Sakaki said. "However, we will lose all the information as the mana will return to be pure and raw energy."

Rain hesitated for a moment and then swung the ominous sword before piercing the ground. In the next moment, all the screens began to distort as the gem attached to the ominous sword began to drain all the mana available... or at least some of it. The gem began to pulsate with power quite strongly, and that showed how much mana it had been drained.

The room could finally be seen now, and it seemed like an ordinary squared chamber at the end of a cave... there was nothing remarkable about the place. Still, Rain could tell that the place worked like a good power spot to harness and control the energy of the planet.

"Prepare for evacuation," Rain said via Telepathy. "How are things out there?"

"A bunch of giant monsters that appear to be mutated dragons arrived, and we are fighting against them," Iori said. "It will be hard to make everyone return to the pocket dimension like this."

"Just start working on that and leave the rest of the job to me," Rain declared. "I am on my way."

Rain could have teleported outside, but he decided to fly instead while he organized his skills and equipped the right ones. Aside from the wrath ones that increased his critical damage and raw power, Rain also equipped the dragon slayer path and its skills... it was time to unlock more of them, and there was nothing better for that than a good fight against those freaks.

"That guy should be the one who sent them... is he nearby?" Rain thought as he recalled the enemy who checked the vessel when it was captured.

"Probably not... my best guess is that he wants to kill as many of us as possible without exposing himself," Sakaki said.

"Who cares about that? Focus on killing them all!" Elisabetha raised her voice.

Elisabetha’s eagerness to engage in battle against the enemies was understandable, given her usual behavior for combat, especially when foes like the first dragons were involved. Rain, however, remained focused on the strategic implications of their situation. He recognized the validity of Sakaki’s words that their primary objective should be to reduce the enemy forces and attempt to evade detection.

Acknowledging the potential instability of the mana gem attached to the ominous sword, Rain swiftly created another mana gem and affixed it to the weapon. This precautionary measure was essential to ensure that he had access to his full combat capabilities without risking the sudden failure or explosion of the gem during the upcoming battle. With his preparations complete, Rain was ready to join the fray and confront the mutated dragons threatening their group.

Before long, Rain left the hole that he had created, and then he saw the scene that could only described as hellish... It was one of chaos and destruction as colossal monsters moved freely, wreaking havoc with each thunderous footfall and savage movement. Among the monstrous horde were creatures of various shapes and forms, each more menacing than the last.

Giant purple scorpions scuttled through the rubble, their massive pincers snapping ferociously as they crushed anything in their path. Those sharp weapons split into two countless warriors. Their armored exoskeletons glistened in the dim light, a testament to their formidable strength and resilience.

Winged snakes soared through the air with grace, their serpentine bodies twisting and turning as they unleashed blasts of poison upon the unsuspecting targets below. Their razor-sharp fangs dripped with venom, poised to strike down any who dared to approach them.

Among the chaos, humanoid monstrosities lumbered forward, their grotesque forms adorned with multiple horns protruding from their bodies. With a single eye gleaming malevolently, they unleashed waves of punches and kicks, reducing buildings to rubble and sending shockwaves rippling through the ground.

As these monstrous beings moved with relentless purpose, their destructive rampage left nothing but devastation in their wake, signaling the dire threat they posed to Rain and his allies. Hundreds of them were being smashed and turning pulps of blood...

"Give me a break... we can’t pop out allies from our asses," Rain said and then charged toward giant scorpions.

Rain needed to save as much mana as possible, and while trying to do that against enemies of that level was dangerous... he didn’t hesitate.
