I transmigrated and got a husband and a son!-Chapter 1238: So, who won?
Chapter 1238: So, who won?
"So, that is why they told me to tie her up tonight. I thought they were being thoughtful."
Dominic nodded in understanding and then paused. "I should stop her before she becomes the most hated in the Reapers."
With that thought in mind, Dominic strutted in the direction his wife went to. But just as he reached the mezzanine, he saw Princess and Joker with Hera. Princess was holding Hera’s waist while Hera’s upper body hung low, swaying lifelessly.
"It’s not what you think it is!" Joker quickly explained, afraid Dominic would chase everyone out of his properly. "We didn’t hit her head or anything like that!"
Dominic didn’t think of that, but now that he mentioned it, he had the idea. "Even if you hit her head, how did you do it without getting hurt in return?"
Princess and Joker’s expressions stiffened at the question.
That was what he was more curious about? Not the fact his wife was now dangling unconsciously like a doll?
Sensing the disbelief in their eyes, Dominic explained himself. "I don’t think a surprise attack is enough to take her down."
"Right." Joker felt a little insulted, but it was true.
Hera was always sharp, and her instinct was beyond animalistic. A surprise attack would only trigger her survival instinct and they would end up getting hurt. It was why they didn’t do that!
"We spiked her food," Princess explained bluntly and Dominic quickly understood.
"Oh."
"Don’t worry. It’s just a strong sleeping pill, but she’ll wake up in time," she reassured, gazing down at Hera and sighing. "Everyone was worried that Hera would jump in the middle of the fight, and Ram didn’t want her help."
But that wasn’t why his wife would jump in that fight, though, Dominic thought.
"This is Ram’s last battle, so we all want it to end fair and square. Hera will definitely ruin it because she’s biased!" Joker added, rendering Dominic speechless.
’So, they told me to tie her up because of Ram and not Basti?’ Dominic didn’t have the heart to disappoint them, though.
"Alright. I understand." Dominic nodded and went to Princess to carry his wife in his arms. But before he could turn his back on them, he darted his eyes between the two.
He squinted and said, "You bet on Wolf, did you?"
"What?" they asked in unison. However, the horrified looks on their faces, as if they were caught red-handed, said it all.
Dominic chuckled and didn’t say anything, walking off with Hera in his arms.
Meanwhile, Princess and Joker looked at each other.
"You bet on Wolf?" Princess asked in dismay. "Is that why you’re helping me?"
Joker took a step back and quickly said. "No! My money’s on Ram!" and fled like a bolt of lightning.

Hours later, most of the Reapers already left the landscape to hunt for Moose. The man suddenly disappeared when his chosen contender was losing. They have to get their money back!
Left in the area were Ram and Wolf, lying flat on the grass. Both of their faces had cuts and blood and parts of their eyes were swollen. Their appearance was the giveaway the match was fierce and both of them didn’t hold back.
"Haha!" Wolf laughed weakly while staring at the beautiful sky full of stars. "You old man still got it, huh?"
Ram smirked, unfazed by the cut on his corner brow. "And you’re still a nice punching bag."
"Hey, don’t forget that jab you got at the end. It knocked you out."
"Tch. Felt like a nail bite," Ram chuckled, only to hear Wolf laugh as well.
Both of them gazed at the sky with appreciation in their eyes. Their bodies ached, their faces throbbed and numbed, but the satisfied smiles in their eyes remained.
"Hey," Wolf called, only to hear Ram hum. "Do you think if Bear joins, we can take him down together?"
"Keep dreaming." Ram’s answer was quick with a slight laugh. "Vincenzo is the only foolish one who challenges him back in the day."
"Foolish, but he’s... cunning. We’ll have to give him that."
Ram nodded slightly. Tonight’s battle was fierce, but truthfully, Ram was able to release his frustrations. Having an illness and knowing he would die from it eventually was something he accepted. Even so, it still upset him.
He wanted to live longer and watch Hera raise her children. He wanted her children to remember him as one of their grandfathers.
It was frustrating, knowing he couldn’t do that much. At the same time, he was still grateful that he was able to see her in this blissful state of life.
"Do you think you’ll meet him?"
Suddenly, Hera’s voice came in. When the two old men glanced up, all they saw was Hera sitting on the grass and lying down with them.
"Of course, they’ll reunite." Wolf humored. "But we have to remind ourselves when we think of them, we look down."
Hera chuckled. "That’s not nice."
"It doesn’t matter where," Ram remarked. "But I know wherever they were, that’s the place I am going as well. After all, we fought the same battles and share the same intentions and heart."
His smile looked a little bitter, but also at peace. "It’ll be a fun place with Vincenzo and Felice, regardless."
After saying that piece, Hera and Wolf didn’t say a word. They simply stared into the sky, holding their breath while tears formed in the corner of their eyes.
Sensing the changing mood, Ram maintained a short smile. He didn’t say anything for a while, staring at the sky quietly.
"Hera," he called after a while, only to hear her forced hum. "Once I die..."
"No," Hera cleared her throat, catching him turning his head to her from the corner of her eyes. "I’ll hear it next time."
"Once I die, don’t attend my funeral." His voice was low and kind. No matter how old he got, Ram’s gentleness never failed to get to her.
Hera slowly turned her head to him, biting her quivering bottom lips as tears rolled down the bridge of her nose. "Why?"
"Because I want you to remember me like this." Ram smiled, his face was beaten up pretty badly, and had a missing tooth on the side. Yet, he grinned at her so brightly as if this didn’t hurt him at all. "If you don’t bury me, then... you can just think I’m just away from a mission. I don’t want to be the first reason you’d cry in the first year of your marriage."
"Can you promise me?" he continued and his face softened, stretching his arm to her. He still had his gloves on, but he still tried to pat her head. freewёbnoνel.com
Hera forced a smile through her tears, nodding in understanding. "Then I won’t be there. I will throw a party so big to celebrate your life, though."
"Sounds good."
Ram and Hera smiled at each other while Wolf was quietly bawling his eyes. When Wolf couldn’t contain it, he started howling.
"You stubborn old man! How can you not get treatment? So what if you lose all your hair — you’re already losing them, anyway!"
Hera and Ram gazed at him and chuckled.
"So? Who won?" she asked and looked back at Ram, only to raise her brows when Ram sighed.
