Chapter 1171: Chainsaw

"Who sent you?"

"Uh." Hera cleared her throat to get Tiger’s attention. "Tiger, what the hell is wrong with you? You ask first before you beat him up. How can he answer if he has no teeth anymore?!"

"I’m showing him a preview of what his life would be if he doesn’t talk."

"Get out of there," she hissed, clicking her tongue as she marched inside the torture chamber. On her way, she caught Deborah along with Ulysses and his bodyguards on the side. "What are they doing here?"

"Watching the exhibition." Deborah smiled. "I’m helping them decide quickly on whether to get on your good side or the other side." fгee𝑤ebɳoveɭ.cøm

"Oh." Hera rocked her head and shrugged. "Fine."

Deborah smiled as she faced the guest slash hostages. "You’re lucky. Hera is here to show you how things are done correctly..." she trailed off as she heard a motor sound getting started. Deborah slowly shifted her attention to Hera.

There, right where the assassin was tied, Hera placed the chainsaw on the man’s lap while pulling the string to start it up.

"Wait," said Hera. "I’ll just start this first and then ask you."

"..." Deborah, Ulysses, and even the two bodyguards could only stare at Hera, aghast.

She kept pulling the string, making this cracky motor sound, while the blade was still on the assassin’s leg. Didn’t Hera come here and scold Tiger for beating up the assassin before asking the question!? Then, doesn’t she know that once that chainsaw worked, that man’s leg was immediately cut off? Why doesn’t she ask first?!

"Hera, you should ask him a question first," Tiger remarked lazily. "If you don’t, his leg is gone before he even tells you a word."

"But he won’t answer if this thing isn’t working yet."

Ulysses opened and closed his mouth until he blurted out, "Then put the blade away from his leg!"

"He doesn’t need a leg to talk, right?" Hera smirked evilly at Ulysses, making the latter gulp nervously.

"Uh..." the assassin shuddered as Hera pulled the string one more time, feeling his heart skip a beat each time. Yet Hera still has the audacity to smile at him reassuringly.

"Just a moment," she said apologetically. "This works, I know. It just needs a little warming up."

The moment those words rolled out of her tongue, she pulled the string once more with all her might.

"They want Ulysses dead so they can pin his death on you!" the man blurted out in fear, feeling his groin heat up as he unknowingly peed himself.

Meanwhile, everyone in the torture chambers went quiet, listening to the man’s confession echo along with the fading motor sound. Ulysses, in particular, stood frozen on the spot, wide-eyed.

As for Dominic, who was listening to everything, couldn’t help but look at the window on his side. He could already picture what was going on on the other side based solely on the noises he heard.

’And here I was, worrying about her and missing her,’ he thought. ’But she’s just getting freaky over there. Now I miss her more.’

The side of his lips curled up, feeling a little indebted to Moose because, even though in this way, he could feel that he was with her.

"Good job," he whispered with a smile. "Let’s hear what he got to say."

"Good job. Now, let’s hear what he got to say."

Hera’s cheeks instantly blushed, touching her face as she held back any flirtatious remarks. Her reaction, however, was quite too obvious for everyone to see.

Was she that happy to make the man confess just by scaring him?

"Ah..." Tiger squinted his eyes, catching the earpiece she was wearing. ’Is she talking to Dominic? Since when is she allowed to contact him without getting tracked by anyone?’

"Hera," he called. "I don’t want to interrupt your glorious moment, but he seemed ready to talk."

"I know." Hera smiled from ear to ear, casting Tiger a delicate look. "But I’m not yet ready."

Tiger grunted, biting his tongue from saying anything as he glanced at their guests. They still had to be careful.

"Seriously." He ruffled his hair, stepping in and shoving Hera to the side. ’Dominic is just throwing her off her game. She’s become useless at this point.’

"Continue what you were saying." Tiger picked up the chainsaw from the assassin’s lap and then tossed it away. "You already started, so I highly advise that you just continue now. After all, it’s still the same."

The assassin shuddered, realizing he let his fear get the best of him. He pressed his lips into a thin line. His shoulders trembled as Tiger raised his fist a little. He hadn’t noticed it earlier because Tiger just came in and started throwing punches. But now that he was given a chance, the assassin couldn’t help but wonder whether to feel amazed that he was still alive after getting punched by those gigantic knuckles or scared of the pain.

"Just in case you didn’t know. Earlier, I was holding back," Tiger remarked quietly but sternly. "This time, I’ll make sure one punch is enough to knock you out and wake you up. You’ll be in and out of consciousness every day for the next month. Yeah. Next month, because I’m keeping you alive until you realize and regret you shouldn’t have kept that damn mouth shut."

His lips stretched into an evil smirk as a glint flickered across his eyes.

"You see that little guy over there?" Tiger tipped his head in Ulysses’ direction. "He heard you. So, this is your only chance to leverage what you know because, by tomorrow, we won’t need it anymore."

The assassin gulped one more time while staring at the devil before him. If Hera was like an evil maniac who would chop him off even before he could confess, this man carried a different level of threat. He didn’t know which was worse between them, but what he could ascertain was Tiger’s threat wasn’t empty at all.

Tiger would do it, and the assassin would live his remaining days in great pain.

"It was the three families," the assassin muttered, hanging his head low as he felt no hope at all. "I don’t know which families exactly, since I’m simply taking orders. But what I do know is that I need to assassinate Ulysses Ebonhart once he stepped foot in the Reaper’s territory."
