Kailen mused inwardly.

The potions disappeared from the lab immediately into the storage ring.

The shadows creatures returned to the shadow expanse.

Kailen however ,decided to meet Arrie before he headed towards the potion hall.

" I missed you so much" Kailen voiced as he kissed Arrie’s neck from behind and hugged her.

" I’m cooking Kai" Arrie voiced,chuckling.

"This villa is literally for us with no one around.There’s no need for us to have any reservations" He clicked his tongue slightly, impatient .

Arrie chuckled " Let me finish cooking okay?. After that we can get down to some business,then head towards the potion hall"

" Whatever the dainty devil says " . Arrie chuckled ,shaking her head as she cooked.

He stood by the side, observing her cook

" You really can cook" He voiced.

" Oh please, knowing my past ,it’s only natural. Some of my clients literally wanted human food and ’ that food’ so it’s only natural"

When Kailen heard that, he somehow felt unpleasant in his heart. His facial expression changed.

Arrie sensed Kailen’s mood had shifted.

" Babe are you okay" She adjusted the stove and turned towards him.

" Don’t tell me you are jealous?" She chuckled, seeing his facial expression..

" I somehow felt jealous when I heard you talk about cooking for your clients in the past. I guess it’s jealousy" Kailen voiced honestly , opening the kitchen refrigerator for some juice.

Arrie chuckled " Even if it’s my past?. You really are smitten aren’t you?"

" You bet I am" Kailen nodded.

"Pfttttt hahahaaha" Arrie broke into laughter.

" What?" Kailen asked with a questioning gesture.

" Oh my gosh. It’s so nice to know this part of you. The cold, level headed , confident Kailen ,is jealous"

Kailen sighed " Are you gonna cook or should I forcefully carry you upstairs?"

Arrie’s words remained stuck in her throat. She turned around to cook, mumbling " When did you become so straightforward "

Kailen laughed, then asked her " How many kids do you want to have in the future ?"

Kailen’s question startled Arrie.

" Slow down bro" Arrie voiced,startled. She was currently frying some eggs. The sounds of kitchen utensils were reverberating as they spoke.

" Wow, that was harsh " Kailen voiced, his voice cold ,feigning anger. He knew she was just messing with him. All the more reason to mess with her too.

" Oh I didn’t meant to hurt you babe" Arrie pouted. She had never seen Kailen mad at her.

She felt freightened.

" Pfffttt.... You should see your face. Gotcha" Kailen broke into laughter.

" You...Hmph!" Arrie hurrumphed, realizing his trickery.

She smiled " Twins. A boy and a girl ,hopefully "

Kailen’s eyes grew soft. " Twins huh. Let’s see how that is gonna turn out . Sounds like a plan "

" What are you goals Kai ". Arrie asked. " I know the revenge for your parents part but after that what’s next?"

Kailen stared at her , smiled,sighed and replied " You and I both know how devastating and torturous being weak can be . I want to be so strong that no one can hurt you or me, or anyone we care about. My goal is simple. I don’t intend to be some hero for the masses. I simply want us both and the family we will come to have to live peaceful lives Arrie , and the friends we have to also be safe" He furthered "I cannot say much for now but all I can tell you is that the universe is extremely vast and being strong is the only way to be safe. My goal is to be so strong that nothing in the universe can pose a threat to you, me or anyone I care about,just that , simple . With strength ,our fates will be in our hands ,and we won’t dangle in the palms ,at the whims of others. For that matter,my goal is to stand at the peak, and anyone that stand in my way on that path, will be trampled "

Arrie stared at Kailen ,silent .

Never had she seen him speak with such resolve and confidence.

That look in his deep abyss like dark eyes as he stared at her said it all.

Arrie was so moved that had she not finished cooking and turned off the stove,the meat she was trying would have over burnt and been ruined.

" What’s your goal Arrie ?"

Kailen asked ,staring at the dumbfounded Arrie’s enchanting figure.

" My goal is to stand by you through thick and thin Love. No matter what happens, I’ll be there for you. And when you stand at the peak, I’ll be there with you, helping you protect what we both hold dear"

Kailen had never felt more attractive to a woman than he did now. The sincerity pulsing from her words was literally palpable.

" What did I do to deserve you" Just when he spoke, Arrie’s figure flashed towards Kailen , the duo’s hearts beating wildly full of emotions,as their phantoms flickered and dissapeared from the kitchen.

It was obvious the food would be left uneaten for a while.

The couple stood on the balcony of the room in their pajamas in each other’s embrace , staring into the star spread sky.

Kailen and Arrie had never been happier.

" After the Antarctica expedition let’s get married "

Arrie muttered .

Kailen’s eyes opened widely in surprise as he chuckled " You best me to it again"

Arrie chuckled " Sorry slowpoke. Propose earlier next time"

The duo chuckled.

There was nothing wrong with getting married in this world at their age.

After the great change 200 years ago,the natural anatomy of humans naturally experienced a shift due to the changes that occured with the planet. Call it evolutionary adaptation or whatever you will. By seventeen, individuals, awakened or non awakened looked comparable to full grown adults from the era before the great change. The legal age was literally seventeen years of age.

Technically, in the current era inasmuch as many would not marry during their teens like around 17 ,18, or 19 years, it would also not be a wrong thing to do as it would be a decision between adults.

Kailen and Arrie had never been more certain of this decision.

Kailen voiced " After the Antarctica expedition, I’ll take you to see my parent’s grave"
