Chapter 105: 105 Result.

Morning arrived and greeted Jin with its clamorous bell chime that echoed in the town. Jin fixed his collar and went outside the room.

As he closed the door with a dull thud, his gaze shifted to the side, and he saw the girls also coming out from their room.

"Morning, guys". Jin muttered while he tucked the room key inside his pocket.

"Morning, Jin. Did you sleep well?".

Silvia approached Jin’s side after locking the door. Her azure eyes blinked with curiosity as she stared intently at the boy’s appearance.

"Yeah, I slept like a log last night". Jin nodded.

"Morning, you two". Lucya hopped over, letting her straight blonde hair flow down.

Both girls wore casual outfits for easy movement. Silvia’s light blue one-piece, draped over her white jacket, fits perfectly with her graceful image.

Lucya wore a white long-sleeved pink shirt with an unbuttoned top, a navy skirt, and black stockings that covered her long legs. She gave off a bold style with a touch of formality.

The floral scent that wafted through the air filtered through his nose. Their figures, bathed in a golden halo, were too bright for Jin’s casual black outfit.

’As usual, the standard beauty in this world was off the charts.’ Jin gulped to swallow his unnecessary thought and tilted his head.

"Where is Iris?".

A ’click’ rang as the three turned to the source and found Iris opening the door. Her golden hair, tied in a ponytail, swayed along with her movement.

She wore green Elf outfits that came as a set with short pants. The heels stomped over the floor, letting out continuous ’thuds’, wrapping around her feet to her thighs.

"Morning".

Iris walked closer. Her sharp eyes were straight toward Jin, who was gazing at them. The Elven girl’s mouth loosened, and her mind switched into a playful smirk plastered on her lips.

"Jin, you stared at us so intensely. Do we perhaps enrapture you?".

Silvia and Lucya turned to Iris. A moment of silence passed, and with a poof, blood rushed to their head, dying their cheeks pink.

"Of course, there is no boy who wouldn’t be interested in beautiful girls," Jin remarked, turning the two even redder and turning Iris into a statue with blush on her cheeks.

"Fufu, thank you, Jin". Silvia hid behind her fist, giggling with a melted expression.

"O-Of course, I was a beauty". Lucya brushed her golden hair, trying to act tough by showing her confident trait.

Iris, on the other hand, lowered her gaze and pulled her golden tail to cover the heat on her cheeks. She glanced at the boy before her, but soon flinched and turned downward.

"Let’s go, we have an appointment".

Jin parted his lips, knowing that Iris was, as usual, still trying to act flirtatious but lacked the composure to deal with a sudden attack.

He didn’t utter a single word and walked away from the room. The girls who exchanged awkward smiles followed behind him.

The sound of their footsteps bounced over the empty hallway. It seemed the other kids beside them had difficulty waking up in the morning.

They arrived in the desolate lobby and briefly reported their business to the receptionist.

"Understood, I hope you guys succeeded". The receptionist showed her a genuine smile.

The outside of the building was bustling with activity. Jin and his group walked on the side street, listening to the bustling activities of people in the morning.

No matter where the place was, it was still the same. The buzzing crowds and stalls shouted their products. The sweet scent of fresh-baked bread filled their nose with joy.

"Let’s get some breakfast first". Jin turned his back and saw them nod in agreement.

He joined the crowd and bought several loaves of warm bread and skewers. He stopped at a stall that sells juices to wash their mouth from the fat.

With a full belly, the group resumed their walk. They leisurely enjoyed the new scenery around them.

Maybe because this was a town of Dwarves, but occasionally the groups could hear metal being tempered, ringing rhythmically but a bit distant.

They enjoyed the sidewalk until they arrived at the colossal walls, which stretched on both sides, enclosing the academy inside with tight security.

Jin walked toward the post near the open gate and asked one of the guards.

"Hello, I’m here for the Exam result".

"Tell me your name and test number?". The young-looking guard waved his hand, and a book appeared from thin air.

"My name is Jin Midnight, test number 50".

"Irisdina Everleaf. Test number 49".

"Silvia Frost. Test number 48".

"Lucya Eira. Test number 47".

As the girls stepped forward to tell their number, the guard flipped through the thick book and inspected the document while alternating his gaze back and forth.

After a few seconds had passed, he nodded and opened his mouth. "You may enter; just go straight, and you will find a billboard standing in the middle of plain sight."

"Thank you".

Jin gave the man a slight bow and then continued forward like the man had told him to. The place was vast, with a wide cobblestone beneath.

On each side, a green plain stretched, and their eyes often widened to see a flower bed gathered at some spots.

The rustling grass became their guide on this tour until they arrived at the middle place with three black billboards erected. ’So, where is my name?’.

Jin observed the three billboards, two on each side, which were regular blackboards he used to see in class.

But the middle one was absurd. It was adorned with a silver carving around the edges, while its letters were painted in shimmering gold.

"The top 10 candidates accepted into Alpha-Class and mine were...". Jin looked up and saw his name on top of the others.

He scanned the other names. Second was Silvia, then Lucya, with Iris barely reaching the tent rank. Thanks to Jin’s and Silvia’s teaching for the past months.

As he kept looking at the board, Jin’s eyes narrowed to see several names that he deemed worthy were placed in another class. ’What!? Kaede and Kurobe were in Beta-class?’.

"This is ridiculous!". Jin’s low growl was swallowed by the loud cheer from behind.

"Look, look, Iris, we were in the same class together." Silvia, who rarely showed her calm and feral appearance, hopped in joy while shaking the elven girl’s hand.

"U-Um, yeah. It seemed so...".

Iris stammered and stood rooted like a tree, unmoving as she stared blankly at the board.

"It seems we will stay in the same class". Lucya knitted her brows, witnessing the rank on the board.

"Hmph. To think I would lose to Silvia".

"Fufu, thanks to someone who has guided me for the past months".

Silvia giggled behind her fist as she glanced at Jin’s back.

Lucya, who followed the girl’s gaze, flinched back upon realizing the boy was none other than the first place holder.

"Ah, I understand now, no wonder you could surpass me in study".

"Are you perhaps mocking me, Lucya?".

A visible vein twitched on Silvia’s temple, hearing the words from Lucya that stabbed her where it hurts.

"Of course, I was slightly higher. No, I was obviously way above yours in academics."

Lucya crossed her arms, brushing her golden hair with a gaze held high.

"You must remember how I always beat you in math?".

"That was a long time ago, people grow," Silvia shot back, the air surrounding her shimmering with cold mist.

"Hoo, let’s see if you’ve grown enough," Lucya smirked. An intense heat swirled around her like stirred lava.

Iris glanced at the two fuming girls. She slipped past them and approached Jin, who kept staring at the board.

"Jin, what’s the matter?". The Elven girl elbowed his left flank, turning his attention to her.

The boy’s eyes narrowed, seemingly furious at the result on the board. She gulped her saliva to moisten her throat, forcing her trembling lips to squeeze the word in her throat.

"Are you mad at my result?". She looked down; her voice was low.

"You did well, Iris".

A warm touch rested on her head. Its rough surface caressed her hair tenderly, soothing the ragged emotion swirling in her chest.

Iris lifted her widened gaze, seeing the serene expression on the boy’s face filled with affectionate emotions.

"Thank you".

A loud thump resonated in her chest. Her heart swelled with overflowing happiness that flooded her body to the brim.

"Excuse me, are you guys the freshmen who passed the entrance exam?" A young woman in a uniform said. Her age and demeanor showed that she was not a student but a teacher.

"Yes," Jin replied. His gaze was firm, and he occasionally glanced at the board.

"I see, then please follow me to take your academy uniform".

With the woman’s urging, Jin glanced at Iris and then toward the two who stopped quarreling before she knew it.

They followed the woman, and Iris’ gaze took one last look at the board. ’Is there something that is bothering Jin?’.
