Former Interstellar Mercenary In Urban Cultivation World-Chapter 1322: Whispers of Destruction and Rebirth
Chapter 1322: Whispers of Destruction and Rebirth
"A thousand years ago, its mass was a thousand times that of Planet Veloxia, but now it’s less than one-tenth of that. If this continues, Planet Neo-Shengis might completely vanish in less than a year."
"If you know how dangerous Planet Neo-Shengis is, why do you still want to come with us?"
Minister Sharif chuckled. "The Crimson Moon Dynasty conducted simulations. Based on the black hole’s gravitational pull and proximity, Planet Neo-Shengis should have disappeared 800 years ago. The reason it hasn’t is likely due to something left behind by cultivators. This isn’t just an opportunity for other star systems—it’s an opportunity for us as well."
"The two immortals can’t stay in the Andromeda Universe forever, and we can’t rely on you indefinitely. The future is uncertain, but if the two immortals were to leave this universe, we would have no one else to depend on but ourselves."
Amalia studied them in silence.
The others did not object to Minister Sharif’s words.
After a moment, she let out a soft laugh. "I’m glad you think that way. There’s no such thing as an eternal gathering—everything must eventually come to an end. The most we can do is give you a good opportunity. From then on, it will be up to you. If you all wish to go, then so be it."
"Thank you, Ms. Amalia." Minister Sharif sighed in relief.
"By the way, where’s Kenny? Has anyone seen him?"
General Rafiq answered, "Yesterday, before he left, Mr. Kenny told me that if you came looking for him, I should tell you he went to outer space near Planet Oblivion-Theta."
Amalia nodded her head in acknowledgment and then departed to find Kenny Lin.
Planet Oblivion-Theta wasn’t far from the first mining planet.
When viewed from outer space, the entire planet appeared pitch black, heavily polluted to the point of complete devastation.
Taking a small spacecraft, Amalia headed toward Planet Oblivion-Theta, and an hour later, she spotted Kenny Lin hovering in the vacuum of space.
She piloted her ship closer, activated autopilot mode, and then exited the ship to join him.
"What are you looking at?" Amalia followed his gaze toward Planet Oblivion-Theta but saw nothing unusual.
"I’m watching the souls of the dead," Kenny Lin said with a half-smile, half-smirk.
Amalia thought for a moment and quickly deduced what he meant. "Speaking of which, the Solvaris Star System seems to be the most suitable place for your Yin-Yang Pearl’s needs."
Kenny Lin made a soft sound of agreement. "I noticed as soon as we arrived—the Yin-Yang Pearl has been restless."
Amalia asked, "Then why didn’t you mention it earlier?"
"The Solvaris Star System is on the path to destruction, and destruction is exactly what the Yin-Yang Pearl needs. Or maybe it’s not just energy, but something more mysterious, something related to life itself—kind of like the myths and legends from Earth’s mortal world."
He had been pondering this question for some time now.
What exactly did the Yin-Yang Pearl require?
Was it really just the energy of the dead?
Amalia watched as he opened his palm, revealing a wisp of black mist dancing within.
This mist was both Kenny Lin’s thought and, at the same time, something separate from him.
Unlike before, when the black mist would lunge excitedly toward dark energy, this time it seemed hesitant, peering left and right as if deep in contemplation.
If it had facial features, Amalia imagined it would be narrowing its eyes the way Kenny Lin did when he was up to something mischievous.
She reached out and tapped it with her finger.
The black mist shuddered slightly, even pushing back against her touch as if telling her to stop messing with it.
"What are you thinking about now?" Amalia squinted at him.
Kenny Lin grinned. "What could I possibly be thinking?"
"If you’re not thinking about anything, then what’s going on down there?" Amalia’s gaze shifted meaningfully to his lower body.
Kenny Lin held up the tiny black wisp in his palm, smirking. "Wanna try touching it a few more times?"
Only a fool would take him up on that offer.
Seeing Amalia refuse, Kenny Lin looked disappointed. "Fine. This little guy is essentially a part of me—a fragment of my being. But it also has a bit of its own consciousness. Right now, it’s like my fully exposed, vulnerable self. It’s my sensitive point—just like how, when we make love, you always deliberately touch my sensitive spots to make me climax early."
Amalia stared at him in exasperation. "Can’t you find a better analogy?"
"No analogy could be more accurate than this one," Kenny Lin insisted.
Amalia decided not to argue.
A drama king like him always had his own way of doing things, and there was no point trying to reason with him.
"So what’s your plan now? Or rather, does it have any thoughts?" she asked.
Kenny Lin mused, "Hmm, it does have some thoughts. Destruction and rebirth—both are things the Yin-Yang Pearl needs. But I still feel like it’s missing something."
Amalia nodded. "Of course it’s missing something—the counterpart to this black essence: white essence."
Kenny Lin gave her a helpless yet indulgent look. "We already have the power of destruction, but where are we supposed to find the power of life?"
Amalia spoke seriously. "I don’t think it’s a matter of finding it. Maybe we should start at the source—how was it born in the first place? If we figure that out, we might be able to find what’s missing."
They exchanged a glance.
Neither of them had an answer, but they both thought of the same person.
Meanwhile, in the small world, basking in the sunlight, Wealth sneezed.
Back on the mining planet, the preparations were nearly complete.
Since Amalia had stored most of their belongings in her small world, there wasn’t much left to pack.
In just two days, after shuttling between several mining planets, everything was set.
The battlefield slowly began to leave the asteroid belt.
