Chapter 117: Chapter 117: Meeting For The First Time
"Alex Green," Alex replied.
"Oh, Alex...wait! What? Your name is Alex Green. Does that mean the blondie who was insulting you was Jasper?" Aurora was stunned.
Alex nodded.
Just then Emily arrived and seeing Alex sitting with Aurora, rushed to her side and whispered in a soft voice,
"You might already know but I will introduce you, he is Alex your half-brother."
The doubts in Aurora’s heart were confirmed and for a moment she didn’t know how to react. freewebnøvel.coɱ
A complex feeling rose in her heart. She was thrilled to meet her half-brother, but to think he was humiliated so much made her blood boil with anger.
Without realizing it, Aurora’s aura turned cold. The weight of her cold aura was so overwhelming that for a minute, even Emily froze.
’Does Aurora hate Alex? Then why did she even offer to invest $10 million in the first place? And why did she after hearing how Alex was getting bullied offer to invest more? Am I misunderstanding something?’
Emily wasn’t the only one who had misunderstood Aurora’s cold aura, even Alex’s face turned pale,
’Does Miss Dawn too look down on me, an unfavored child? Or is she scared of Jasper too?’ Alex didn’t dare to think.
He was so desperate for the funds that even though he knew Dawn might not even glance at his documents, he still said,
"Miss Dawn, please take a look at my proposal," Alex said quickly, his hands tightening around the documents.
His voice was shaky, but he tried to sound confident.
Aurora snapped out of her thoughts and looked at him.
She could see the nervousness in his eyes, the desperation. He thought she was disgusted by him.
Aurora sighed and reached for the papers. "Alright, let me see."
Alex blinked in surprise. "R-Really?"
Aurora gave him a small smile. "Why not? You worked hard on this, didn’t you?"
Alex nodded quickly. "Yes! I spent months preparing this!"
Aurora started flipping through the pages.
The more she read, the more impressed she became. The business plan was well thought out.
Alex had potential—he just needed someone to believe in him.
Emily, who was standing nearby, watched everything with wide eyes. ’Wait... does Aurora actually care about Alex?’
Alex sat nervously, watching her every expression. After what felt like forever, Aurora finally put the papers down.
"Not bad," she said.
Alex’s eyes lit up. "Really?!"
Aurora nodded. "Yes. But... there are a few problems."
Alex’s excitement dimmed a little. "Oh... what kind of problems?"
Aurora tapped the table.
"Your plan is too cautious. You’re not thinking big enough. If you want to beat Jasper, you need to take bigger risks."
Alex gulped. "Bigger risks?"
Aurora smirked. "Don’t worry. I’ll help you."
Alex’s mouth fell open. "You... you’ll really invest?"
Aurora leaned back in her chair. "Of course. I am ready to invest $70 million."
Alex nearly fell out of his chair. "S-Seventy million?!"
Emily gasped.
Aurora nodded. "Yes. But on one condition."
Alex straightened. "Anything!"
"I need to verify your background and for that, you need to answer some of my questions," Aurora said in a non-negotiable tone.
"Sure." Alex wasn’t afraid and even thought of explaining how his mother wasn’t the mistress.
But the question Aurora asked stunned him,
"From what I have heard you love your mother but when your mother invited you to live with her, you only stayed for 6 months before vanishing from there completely, why is that?"
Alex’s expression turned blank, the question seemed to have stabbed in his heart and his eyes turned moist.
It took him a long while before he lowered his head and took the proposal back. Without a word, he stood up and said,
"I will take my leave. Forget that you met me."
With that, he turned around ready to leave.
Aurora was taken aback by Alex’s strong reaction and she stood up to stop him when a voice interrupted,
"He won’t tell you, but I can."
Alex stiffened and Aurora frowned, both of them turned around and saw Jasper.
Alex clenched his fists, his whole body tense.
"Jasper, stop talking," he said through gritted teeth.
Jasper smirked and leaned against the wall, looking relaxed.
"Why should I? It’s such a good story," he said, crossing his arms.
Aurora narrowed her eyes. "What are you trying to say?"
Jasper chuckled. "Oh, you’ll love this," he said, tilting his head toward Alex.
"Shut the f*ck up!" Alex shouted.
Aurora seeing his strong reaction decided to intervene,
"I am not interested to hear anything Mr. Jasper Green, leave."
Jasper however chuckled,
"No! Miss Dawn, I think you should hear it you will find the story very interesting."
Alex’s eyes turned red and he clenched his jaw,
"Jasper, I will kill. Don’t you dare to say anything!"
Jasper laughed.
"Kill me? Oh, please. You can’t even fight back when people insult you," he said, shaking his head.
"But fine, if you really want to stop me, come and do it."
Alex’s fists trembled. His breathing was uneven, and his nails dug into his palm.
He wanted to shut Jasper up, to make him disappear, but he knew it wouldn’t work. Jasper enjoyed pushing him to the edge.
Aurora could see Alex struggling and frowned. She stepped between them, her cold gaze locking onto Jasper.
"I said leave," she repeated, her voice firm.
The grin on Jasper’s face vanished and he said coldly,
"You should know your place ’Miss Dawn’."
Nora who had followed Jasper didn’t interrupt him.
Just now, many of the businessmen wanting to gain favor from her had transferred villas under her name and gifted her diamond jewelry.
She had already asked one of her friends to sell the villa and the jewelry and the friend would be arriving soon.
Once her friend used some black market channels to sell everything she would leave by the next morning.
Then no one would be able to catch her.
Now Jasper can act as arrogantly as he wants and it would be better if he injured the real Miss Dawn, then she would have more time to leave the country.
