Born Into Villain's Family: I Have a 200\% Rebate System-Chapter 116: Opinion
Chapter 116: Chapter 116: Opinion
The room fell into complete silence.
For a moment, no one spoke. No one moved. The tension was so thick it was suffocating.
Then—
"PFFT—HAHAHAHA!"
Laughter exploded in the hall like thunder.
"Did she just say she is Miss Dawn?"
"What kind of joke is this?!"
"Where did this nobody come from? Is she crazy?"
The businessmen clutched their stomachs, wiping away tears of laughter. Even some of the guards holding Alex down couldn’t help but smirk.
Nora, who had been sweating in panic, suddenly realized something.
No one believed Aurora.
Even though she had been scared at first, the laughter of the crowd gave her an idea.
She had originally lied to those fools, that she had hired a stand-in for herself and now she just needs to extend the act and present real Dawn as the stand-in.
With that thought, Nora pretended to be calm and said,
"This...lady is telling the truth. She is Dawn! The real one! Yes, the real one. Please don’t mock her."
Jasper was confused, he turned toward Zain who instantly whispered to him,
"The woman in the beige suit is the imposter hired by Miss Dawn. Miss Dawn wants to see everyone’s real face and hence..."
Jasper’s eyes flashed with understanding.
Ah, so that’s how it is.
His lips curled into a smirk as he nodded slightly. "I see... I see..."
The businessmen, still laughing, looked confused.
"Huh? What is happening?"
"Miss Nora is saying that woman is really Dawn?"
"That’s impossible! She’s just some random nobody!"
But then—
Nora raised her hand and then turned toward Aurora, with a fake gentleness she said,
"We all believe you are Miss Dawn, right Mr. Green?"
Jasper raised an eyebrow and chuckled.
"So you’re telling me this lady in the beige suit is really Miss Dawn? How interesting..."
He turned to Aurora with fake respect and did a small bow. "I deeply apologize if we offended you, Miss Dawn."
But his mocking tone made it clear—he still didn’t believe it.
The other businessmen quickly caught on and laughed along.
"Yes, yes! We are so sorry for not recognizing the great Miss Dawn!" one man snickered.
"Haha! Such an honor to meet the real Miss Dawn!" another man laughed.
Their voices were filled with sarcasm.
No one truly believed Aurora.
Aurora’s brows furrowed. She kept on feeling that everyone was only faking the respect they were giving her.
However...
"It doesn’t matter. Just let that young man go. I want to have a talk with him in person."
Nora was stunned.
Does Dawn truly know Eldest Young Master Green?
If yes then...they were f*cked up!
In a cautious voice she asked,
"Miss Dawn, do you know this gentleman?"
"No." Aurora shook her head.
Nora heaved a sigh of relief before saying in the familiar gentle voice,
"Then please forget about him Miss Dawn, he is not worth your time."
Aurora finally realized what was amiss in Nora’s tone.
Nora’s sounded as if she was a mother who was guiding a stupid child.
With a frown, Aurora said,
"Did I ask for your opinion?"
The room went silent again.
Nora’s smile stiffened.
The way Aurora spoke... was cold, and powerful. Like she was someone standing above all of them.
The businessmen looked at each other, confused.
Jasper’s smirk twitched for a second before he quickly recovered.
"Oh my, Miss Dawn is quite...direct," he said, pretending to be polite, but his tone was mocking.
"But Miss Dawn, please don’t take it the wrong way. Miss Nora is only worried for you."
"Yes, yes!" A businessman laughed awkwardly. "Miss Nora has always been kind and gentle!"
Nora quickly nodded and smiled again.
"Yes, Miss Dawn. I only wanted to help you. This man is nothing but trouble, I—"
"Shut up."
Aurora’s voice was calm but sharp like a knife.
Everyone froze.
Even Jasper’s expression darkened slightly.
Nora’s face paled.
Aurora took a step forward, her cold eyes locking onto Nora.
"I don’t need your fake kindness," she said. "And I don’t need you to speak for me."
The businessmen gasped.
"How dare she talk to Miss Nora like that?!"
"Who does she think she is?!"
But some of them suddenly felt nervous.
If this woman was truly Miss Dawn... then they just laughed at her earlier.
Aurora turned to the men holding Alex down.
"Let him go."
The guards hesitated.
Jasper chuckled.
"Oh, Miss Dawn, you must not understand the situation. My brother made a mistake, and he must apologize properly."
The businessmen nodded.
"Yes! He should kneel and apologize!"
"Kneel!"
"Kneel!"
The chanting started again.
Aurora’s expression didn’t change, but there was a cold glint in her eyes.
A second later—
CRACK!
The wooden floor beneath her feet shattered into small pieces.
It wasn’t Aurora...but Nora.
Her tone was chilly as she said,
"Since Miss Dawn is asking for something you all should give it, or is it that you all know some news."
At her words, everyone panicked and one by one businessmen quickly shut their mouths. The laughter, the mocking—it all disappeared in an instant.
Some of them turned pale. Some nervously looked at Jasper.
Jasper’s smirk faded for real this time. His eyes darkened as he stared at Nora.
Nora’s voice was light, but there was a sharpness hidden beneath it.
"Why are you hesitating?" she asked, tilting her head. "Is there something you all know that I don’t?"
Her words hinted that everyone knew about her real identity as Dawn and knew that Aurora was her stand-in.
In reality, she was scared, what if Aurora caught on her words, and cleared the misunderstanding?
She would be doomed!
The businessmen immediately shook their heads.
"No! No! We wouldn’t dare!"
"Of course not, Miss Nora!"
"We were just confused, that’s all!"
Nora smiled, but it didn’t reach her eyes.
"Good," she said. Then she turned to the guards. "Let him go."
The guards didn’t dare to hesitate anymore. They instantly let go of Alex.
Alex coughed and rubbed his wrists, giving Nora a long look before stepping beside Aurora.
Jasper clenched his fists. His control over the situation was slipping. He had to do something.
Quickly, he put on his usual smirk and clapped his hands.
"Well! Since Miss Dawn and Miss Nora both agree, then of course, we must listen!" he said with fake enthusiasm.
The businessmen all nodded quickly.
"Yes, yes!"
"Whatever Miss Dawn and Miss Nora say!"
Jasper turned to Alex, his eyes cold but his smile polite.
"My dear brother, you’re free to go," he said. "But I do hope you’ll behave better next time."
Alex didn’t even look at him. He turned to Aurora instead.
Aurora glanced at him, then looked back at Nora. "Miss..."
"Nora."
"Miss Nora," she said, voice calm. "You seem to have quite a bit of influence here."
Nora’s fingers twitched slightly, but her smile remained.
"Why, Miss Dawn, you flatter me," she said sweetly. "I only do what’s best for everyone."
Aurora chuckled. "Is that so?"
Something about the way she said it made Nora’s heart tighten.
Jasper, who had been watching, suddenly smiled again.
"Well then!" he said loudly. "Now that the matter is settled, why don’t we all enjoy the party again?"
The businessmen quickly nodded.
"Yes, yes! Let’s drink!"
"Forget about this little misunderstanding!"
The tension in the room didn’t disappear, but everyone pretended it did.
Aurora didn’t say anything else. She simply turned around and walked out.
Alex followed her.
Once they reached Aurora’s seat, Aurora sat down and motioned for Alex to sit down too.
Alex nervously sat down and looked at Aurora with curiosity.
Just when Aurora thought he would ask for investment, Alex said gratefully,
"Thank you so much for saving me, Miss Dawn! You..."
Then suddenly he paused.
"You... what?" Aurora raised an eyebrow, waiting for Alex to finish his sentence.
Alex scratched the back of his head awkwardly.
"Uh... you really saved me back there. If it weren’t for you, I’d probably be on the floor right now, eating dust."
Aurora chuckled lightly. "You seem to get into trouble a lot."
Alex sighed. "Yeah, you could say that. My dear brother loves making my life difficult." fгeewёbnoѵel.cσm
"Your brother," she said, tapping her fingers on the table, "doesn’t like you very much, does he?"
Alex scoffed. "That’s an understatement. He wants to crush me."
Aurora hummed in thought. "And why is that?"
Alex leaned back, staring at the ceiling.
"Because I exist. He thinks I’m a threat to his position. Even though I don’t care about fighting for the family business, he still sees me as a problem."
Aurora took a sip of her drink, her eyes thoughtful.
"You must have done something to make him that scared of you."
Alex laughed bitterly. "I guess being born was enough."
There was a short silence.
"I know someone who is in a similar situation as you." Aurora chuckled as she thought about Alex.
Alex chuckled.
"What’s your name by the way?" Aurora asked.
