Beast taming, starting from zero point-Chapter 975 - 793: Gathering in the Dense Forest
Chapter 975: Chapter 793: Gathering in the Dense Forest
"Gui Gui."
In the hotel room, a Gui Manweng opened its eyes and let out a sound.
A man with brown hair, who was on the phone complaining to the front desk about a Tailhot Mouse intruding into his room, brightened his eyes. Ignoring the fact that a wild Pet Beast had entered the room, he quickly put down the phone and eagerly confirmed:
"Are you sure?"
"Gui Gui."
The Gui Manweng nodded confidently.
"Sir, we’ll send someone over shortly..." The voice of the front desk staff sounded from the phone.
Before the person could finish speaking, the man slammed the phone down with a "bang" and hurriedly walked toward the door.
The Gui Manweng followed close behind.
"Tail Tail..."
The Tailhot Mouse, originally eating on the bed, glanced toward the door upon hearing it close. Its face showed a "how boring" expression.
It jumped off the bed, grabbed a bottle of mineral water from the room, approached the window, and transformed into a white ray of light, leaving through the wall outside.
...
An open field overgrown with grass.
Qiao Sang groggily opened her eyes, seeing Yaobao, Lubao, and Gangbao hovering above her with worried expressions.
"Why did I fall asleep?" Qiao Sang stared at the gap between the three heads, looking up at the night sky, confused for a few seconds.
Then, she suddenly bolted upright, internally screaming, "Damn it, was I just hypnotized by a wild Pet Beast?"
Once she stood up, she noticed Billet nearby, staring grimly in the direction of the dense forest.
"Ya Ya!" freewebnσvel.cøm
She was just about to approach and inquire about what had happened when Yaobao urgently called out beside her.
"What? You’re saying Little Xun Bao is missing?!" Qiao Sang was stunned upon hearing this, turning to look at Yaobao, completely forgetting that she could confirm this herself.
"Ya Ya!"
Yaobao nodded vigorously.
Little Xun Bao often stays invisible for extended periods, but its aura is usually detectable. Now, however, its presence had vanished, and despite calling for it, there was no response.
Qiao Sang immediately sensed Xun Bao’s state and, discovering that it was unharmed, let out a sigh of relief.
She raised her hand, intending to summon Xun Bao back.
Although Xun Bao wasn’t nearby, it was still within sensing range. Summoning it back should be no problem.
At this moment, Billet looked over and said in a deep tone, "Do not summon Ghost Ring King back yet."
Qiao Sang’s brows furrowed lightly. "Why?"
"Before you fainted, did you hear the sound of a flute?" Billet did not answer directly but posed a question instead.
"The sound of a flute?" Qiao Sang paused and began to seriously recall.
It seemed, maybe, there really was the sound of someone playing a flute...
Her eyes widened suddenly, "Adinixi was just here?"
Billet nodded, emitting a slight "hmm." "If my guess is correct, your Ghost Ring King is currently with Adinixi."
Pausing for a moment, Billet then said earnestly: "We can determine Adinixi’s location based on the position of the Ghost Ring King."
Qiao Sang fell silent briefly before sensing Xun Bao’s location. She found that it was in the depths of the forest.
Various thoughts flashed across her mind.
Judging from the position, Xun Bao indeed might be with Adinixi.
But why?
Could it be that Xun Bao wasn’t hypnotized?
After noticing that she and Yaobao had fallen asleep, did it venture into danger alone, tracking Adinixi, to make it easier for her to find them once she woke up?
No, no, Xun Bao shouldn’t be that brave...
Then why is it with Adinixi?
Could it be that Adinixi took Xun Bao away deliberately?
But for what purpose?
Thinking about how a potentially Emperor-level Phantom Beast might have abducted Xun Bao, Qiao Sang began to feel deeply anxious.
As her thoughts surged, Billet spoke:
"Just now, I received more detailed information about Adinixi. While it’s true that it has always appeared in places with music, that was its pattern from a hundred years ago. Two hundred years ago, it showed up at various amusement spots. Three hundred years ago, it was consistently found near hot springs or water bodies."
"So, its interests seem to shift every century."
Having nearly forgotten that she was accompanied by a knowledgeable elder—though perhaps not entirely reliable—Qiao Sang asked, "Why would it take Xun Bao?"
"Some Phantom Beasts are said to have the ability to see through illusions or glimpse into other spaces," Billet said gravely. "The rings of Ghost Ring King also count as a separate space. It’s highly possible that Adinixi has spotted the space enclosed within the rings but couldn’t retrieve anything from within, hence taking Ghost Ring King along."
"Damn, it’s actually targeting the treasures inside the rings..." Qiao Sang spoke anxiously, "We must go in immediately!"
The rings were packed with countless valuable items. Who knows if Xun Bao might hand them all over...
...
Deep within the forest.
A certain cave.
"Xun Xun~"
Little Xun Bao pulled a carton of milk out from its rings and handed it to Adinixi.
"Di Di~"
Adinixi opened it, drained it in one gulp, and revealed a satisfied expression.
"Xun Xun~"
Little Xun Bao then pulled out several packets of potato chips and Energy Pills from the rings.
Adinixi munched on the chips and Energy Pills, stuffing its cheeks till they were bulging.
"Xun Xun~"
Little Xun Bao eagerly presented another bottle of milk.
"Di Di..."
Adinixi took the milk, drank a sip, and swallowed all the food in its mouth, looking utterly content.
"Xun Xun?"
Little Xun Bao sensed the perfect timing, pointing at the rings in Adinixi’s claws that it had never let go of. It let out a sweet call, asking if it could play with them.
"Di Di..."
Adinixi thought of the snacks it had been treated with, reluctantly handing over the flute.
"Xun Xun!"
Little Xun Bao’s eyes glimmered as it grabbed the flute, gave it a wistful touch, and prepared to play.
It puffed up its cheeks and blew into it, only to find no sound coming out.
"Xun Xun!"
Unwilling to accept this outcome, it blew harder into the holes.
After turning completely red from the effort, the flute still remained silent.
"Xun Xun..."
Little Xun Bao lowered the Red Flute in frustration.
"Di Di."
Watching the entire scene unfold, Adinixi curved its lips smugly, letting out a proud call to state the flute could only be played by it.
"Xun Xun!"
Little Xun Bao, unconvinced, handed the flute back to Adinixi, calling out.
"Show me then."
Adinixi took the Red Flute and placed it at its lips.
Instantly, a melodious and captivating tune echoed through the cave.
...
At the same time.
Back in the grass-covered open field.
One area of the scenery abruptly distorted like rippling water waves.
Soon, figures began emerging one after another, stepping into the field seemingly out of nowhere.
"Is this the place?" A gray-haired elder scanned the surroundings and asked.
"This is it!" The brown-haired man affirmed, glancing toward the Gui Manweng by his side.
"Gui Gui."
The Gui Manweng stepped forward, extending a vine that curled around the ground, retrieving a small eye-like object resembling a green bean.
The elder focused on it and confirmed it was indeed a Gui Eye.
"Stay here, Ogefu will come with me. If Adinixi emerges, find a way to block it temporarily." The elder spoke as he headed toward the dense forest.
A dark-haired youth followed closely behind.
