Beta Damien’s pov,

I was puzzled by what happened.

I had thought before that this stranger Alpha Anastasia brought back here was a human.

I had no clue that he would turn out to be a werewolf. A very strong werewolf at that. But, how come he’s strong?

No. That shouldn’t be my worry. The real problem is, how was he able to conceal his presence from me?

My eyes widened upon realizing something. I stared at him. ’He is the Lycan King!’. I thought.

’What?! So does this mean that our alpha’s second chance mate is the Lycan King?!’. Darren shouted.

Staring at the Lycan King, I later got distracted when I noticed that the demon was trying to escape.

Revealing my sharp claws as I didn’t want to transform into my wolf form, I dashed towards the demon. Sadly, he entered the ground and got away. He must have regained a little bit of his energy and used it to escape.

I made my claws disappear from my hands before I went and squatted next to the unconscious Lycan King.

Naturally, I should have hated the Lycan King, but the truth has been revealed.

If not everyone, most people, including me, are now aware that he had been wronged twenty years ago.

He wasn’t the one who actually killed his family or killed his pack members.

It was truly the doing of a demon.

I grabbed the sword and wanted to pull it out of his abdomen, but the sword disappeared the instant I touched it.

I did not waste any time and I tore the upper part of his robe, revealing his chest and stomach.

Just one look at him, and I could tell that his body was more sturdy than mine.

Ignoring his muscular body, my attention focused on his abdomen.

According to what I was currently seeing, it seemed like the sword had penetrated into his body. I could tell that because the place he was stabbed had assumed the color of the sword. Purple.

He was bleeding two different blood colors. Red and purple.

Not only that, the veins in his neck had changed to purple.

The pale look on his face made me understand that he was dying. And I didn’t know what to do to help him out.

Whatever that demon used to stab him, it wasn’t an ordinary weapon.

But I don’t understand. Why did he attack the demon? I understand that he could have attacked the demon out of instinct, but that wasn’t the case. I saw rage in his eyes and actions.

Without doubt, I knew that that demon must have something to do with what happened to his (the Lycan King’s) pack twenty years ago.

Anastasia aka Clara’s pov,

I found myself in front of my parents’ house after I disappeared from Luca’s basement.

Although standing outside the house, I could hear some voices inside the house.

I could never forget those voices. They are my parents’ voices.

I badly wanted to enter the house. I badly wanted to tell them that I was still alive, but I just couldn’t do that. No. It was not as if I couldn’t do it. It’s just that I didn’t want to do it because I knew things would get complicated if others found out about it.

But, my parents are trustworthy. I have to tell them. I want to tell them. I know that this wasn’t what I had in my mind when I decided to visit them. Yet, thinking about how they loved and cared for me like I was their very own child, I couldn’t help it.

Past emotions flooded my mind.

I had decided to enter the house, but before that, I enhanced my vision using my light magic and was able to see past through the door that was in front of me.

I saw my parents.

They were sitting on the same sofa and hadn’t touched the food that was on the table in front of them.

Their once bright faces had become haggard. And both their eyes looked dead.

I decided to take things further by trying what I think I had never done before.

Since I could see them with the help of my enhanced vision, I unblocked my mind reading power and began to read my mom’s mind first. ’My poor baby, when are you going to return to me? Huh? How dare you abandon your father and me? Did your father, or I, give you any permission to leave us behind? If I ever get to meet you again, I will make sure to scold you!’.

Tears had been pouring out of my eyes and I didn’t realize that until I touched my face.

’My daughter. Your father and mother love you so much. Please return to us. You are all that we have’. These were my father’s thoughts.

I blocked my mind reading power before my hand grabbed the door knob.

After I did that, I abruptly gasped and placed my hand on my chest because my breathing had suddenly become faster, and my heart was pounding against my chest.

I felt so restless, and I could feel my other hand shivering.

"What is this ominous feeling that I am feeling?". I muttered, as I had never felt this way in my entire life before.

’I think something bad has happened somewhere, Clara. I don’t feel so good either’. Elektra said to me. Until I figured out what was wrong with me, I didn’t want to see my parents in this state.

Because of the overwhelming pressure and the sensation I was feeling, I decided to return to the hotel, as I feared that I might pass out all of a sudden in front of my parents’ house.

After I teleported and returned to my bedroom, the pain grew worse, and I felt like suffocating.

Other than that, why is the Lycan King’s presence faint? It’s almost as if his presence was fading away from this world.

I did not think much about that and laid on my back on the bed, before I tried the best I could to steady my breathing.

But no matter how much I tried, I could not shake off the pressure in my heart.

Despite the pain I was going through, my instincts told me to locate the Lycan King. And when my instincts told me that, I felt troubled at that moment.

I dragged myself off the bed and went out of the bedroom.

Before I knew it, I found myself in the living room, and the sight before me made me fall to my knees, causing a loud impact.

Seeing the Lycan King in that miserable state with beta Damien hitting him and trying to wake him up, my heart felt like it was removed from my chest and put inside an active volcano.
