Wizard: Start with Biological Transformation to Grind Experience-Chapter 151 - 026: Time flies
Chapter 151: 026: Time flies
White Castle.
Humming a tune, Avery walked into the room.
A maid was tidying up the desserts on the coffee table. As Avery passed by, she casually picked up a fork, stabbed a piece, and popped it into her mouth.
"Miss, that’s..."
Avery replied, "What does it matter? It’s not spoiled yet, right?"
With that, she walked happily deeper into the room.
In the bedroom, Lisa was arranging the bedding. Her gaze paused briefly on Avery as she walked in, then she smiled and said, "Looks like there’s some good news. So, things are progressing smoothly?"
Avery twirled a strand of hair around her finger: "In the Shadow Land—oh no, in the entire Ancient Ruins—you can’t find a girl more outstanding than me, can you?"
She picked up a mirror to take a look at herself, then turned back and said, "Can you? Really?"
"Haha!"
Lisa chuckled, "That calls for a celebration."
Avery put down the mirror and said somewhat sadly, "It’s a pity the time is so fleeting. There’s not enough room to savor the beauty of it all. Just when things have started, we’re already set to part. Ten years! If only I didn’t have to go to the Magic Mirror..."
Lisa’s smile faded. "Avery, you mustn’t entertain such thoughts."
Pausing for a moment, she said solemnly, "Love is only a part of life, but not the whole of it. You must remember who you are and what you’re truly meant to do."
"Whether the future leans toward order or chaos, you are the key."
Avery nodded, "Don’t worry, I know exactly what I’m doing."
She walked to the window and gazed out at the serene and tranquil world, "Moreover, it’s only by preserving this order that I can have the time to enjoy the beauty it brings. No matter what, I won’t allow anyone to destroy it."
...
Shadow Land, Lynch Mansion.
Walking into the room, Lynch let out a long sigh.
This day, what even is going on?
Everything seemed fine when I left, but by the time I came back—after just a meal—how did I end up with an extra person alongside me?
"Truly peculiar."
Shaking his head, Lynch set these chaotic thoughts aside. What’s done is done; there’s no point in dwelling on it. Best to go with the flow.
Promptly, he returned to the Cultivation Room to begin his training for the day.
Three days later, Lanice officially set out for the Magic Potion Manor. On the day of her departure, all the familiar apprentices came to see her off, including Lynch.
They made plans to meet up someday at the Fairy Tavern for drinks.
But as to when that day might be, nobody had a concrete answer—not even as they helped Lanice board the carriage.
Life resumed its usual rhythm, passed day by day in training, studying magic, meditation, and Knight Training. Lynch’s progress soared.
Three months flashed by in the blink of an eye.
Over these three months, Lynch had added more than twenty spells to his repertoire, reaching a five percent milestone in the pursuit of mastering all middle and low-level magic from the Tower.
Early one morning, Lynch had a visitor at his mansion—it was Adam.
Since the last competitive tournament, Adam had been out on assignments for the Law Enforcement Team. Such busy schedules were typical.
Upon arriving at Lynch’s Mansion, Adam didn’t waste time before issuing a challenge to Lynch. Although he had lost to Lynch in the last tournament, that didn’t mean he planned to give up. Over the past six months away, he had been relentless in his self-training.
Isn’t it just perfect? Lynch hadn’t slacked off even a single day either.
The outcome, naturally, was self-evident.
"Next time, I’ll definitely beat you!" Adam could only console himself with such bold declarations.
"I’ll be waiting."
Besides the duel, Adam also shared a few stories from his missions. Apparently, they had been hunting down Black Wizards, specifically targeting the Blood Origin Cult responsible for the ambush on Ghost Island. As for the results, he didn’t disclose much—it seemed classified.
"There’s been an uptick in the Tower’s battle missions lately," Adam casually mentioned during their chat.
Lynch noticed it too—not just battle missions, but even hunting tasks had been commanding higher rewards recently. Moreover, apprentice dueling tournaments were being organized more frequently.
The Tower appeared to be intentionally encouraging everyone to boost their combat abilities?
Training continued.
In the blink of an eye, half a year had passed.
During these six months, Lynch had added another fifty spells to his collection, achieving a ten percent progress toward mastering all templates without spending a dime.
When his spell count surpassed one hundred, Lynch unlocked a new trait.
Trait: Magic Master.
Magic Master: You’ve accumulated over 100 Basic Magic Models, becoming a burgeoning Magic Master. You’ve seamlessly integrated every spell from all three major categories. Now, learning any apprentice-level spell comes effortlessly to you.
Trait Effect: Gain a 10–55% efficiency boost when learning apprentice-level spells.
This trait was clearly an upgraded version of Magic Little Expert. Upon gaining it, the latter trait vanished—apparently, similar traits don’t stack.
Equipped with this new trait, his progress in learning entry-level spells received a significant boost.
Of course, it called for learning a few spells to celebrate.
With this momentum,
another two years rolled by.
Throughout these two-plus years, Lynch persistently continued his spell studies. He had mastered over 300 beginner-level spells, achieving a thirty percent milestone in his quest to master them all!
Beyond spells, his most remarkable achievement lay in his rising power.
After more than two years of tireless effort, Lynch finally condensed his fifth Basic Will Rune.
[Meditation lv5: 16/32000]
Spiritual growth at last!
Spirit: 11.3.
After a slow climb, his spiritual power suddenly surged significantly. Spirit level 11.3 equates to 113 spiritual power, enabling him to accomplish considerably more each day.
A celebration through cultivation was absolutely mandatory.
This celebration,
saw another three years quietly pass.
Five hundred spells!
Through more than three years of hard work, Lynch had mastered over 500 beginner spells, achieving a fifty percent milestone toward mastering all templates.
In terms of raw power, he had no surprises—condensing his sixth Basic Will Rune.
Spirit: 13.6.
This sixth rune marked the final step in his Mid-level Apprentice phase. A single step forward would elevate him into the High-level Apprentice tier.
Yet this step happened to be the toughest of all, as clearly reflected in his system panel.
[Meditation lv6: 1/50000]
Compared to the fifth rune, the required skill points jumped by a whopping 18,000—almost equivalent to the total training required during the entire Low-level Apprentice phase.
No other option—he’d have to grind it out slowly.
Training is like that: without accumulating small steps, one cannot cover a great distance. The Wizard’s Road allows no shortcuts.
Lynch continued his daily cultivation, day after day.
Over this period, Subaru and the other familiar apprentices experienced many events: some fell in love, broke up, then fell in love again.
Some earned accolades in tournaments, basking in momentary glory.
Some stumbled upon small ruins during mission outings, becoming hot topics of conversation.
Others sneaked off to the Human World for fun and returned with grand tales to brag about.
Lynch participated in none of it; he merely focused on his own work, training in silence.
While others engaged in romances, channeling hormones, he trained and studied.
While others shined brightly in tournaments, he trained and studied.
While others ventured out to hunt for treasure, he trained and studied.
While others sought entertainment in the Human World, he still trained and studied.
Steady like water, consistent and unwavering.
The days passed, one by one,
time swept by like rushing water, years flowed like a stream—just like that, another five years quietly slipped away.
The fifth year, marking ten years since Lanice’s departure.
Lynch finally fulfilled the objective he had set ten years earlier, completing it at last.
Progress: 100%.
All 1,286 public templates from the Tower—mastered in their entirety!
Simultaneously, his Meditation skill polished off its final points, smoothly advancing him to a higher tier, adding another leaf symbolizing wisdom to his cloak. He had become a bona fide—
High-level Apprentice!
