Trash of the Count's Family-Chapter 293Book 2: : Crazy bastard. And an even crazier bastard (2)
<Crazy bastard. And an even crazier bastard (2)>
After the part about a hero, something else caught Alberu Crossman’s attention.
[Birth of the ??God]
Alberu’s gaze stopped on the ‘??God’ part.
‘Mm.’
‘??’. He had a feeling he knew what was underneath the question mark.
‘Is it talking about the omnipotent god?’
Thanks to the messages he got from Cale, he already knew that the Hunters, some gods, and the Demonic race were trying to turn this virtual reality world to a new real world.
“…How bothersome.”
But for some reason, these ??… He felt like the hidden portion was not ‘omnipotent.’
“Maybe-”
Although this god was called the omnipotent god, the true name might be a bit different?
Alberu scowled but he shook his head and rid himself of the complicated thought.
‘I guess I should be the one to send Cale Henituse a message first. It’s been a while since I've done that.’
There was no need for him to make any rash judgments on his own.
“What's going on?”
Alberu raised his head after hearing someone calling out to him.
Ahn Roh Man, the President of ‘Roan’ on Earth 3 and the top ranker in this game, was looking at Alberu with a concerned gaze.
Alberu answered in a nonchalant tone.
“It’s nothing.”
“Yeah?”
Ahn Roh Man scanned Alberu up and down.
Alberu did not hide his discomfort at this gaze.
“What?”
Ahn Roh Man smiled.
“No. It’s just……”
Ahn Roh Man had a tired yet mature smile as he shrugged his shoulders as if it was no big deal and turned away from Alberu.
“Let me know if something happens. I want to help you guys.”
Alberu looked at Ahn Roh Man’s back and answered.
“Yeah. You are the one I have to ask all my questions to. I have nobody else to ask.”
“Haha, thanks for saying it like that.”
Ahn Roh Man peeked behind him and continued.
“But when will you change how you address me?”
“What about it?”
Alberu asked if he had no idea what Ahn Roh Man was talking about. Ahn Roh Man mischievously answered.
“I told you to call me hyung.”
“Pfft.”
Alberu chuckled before responding just as mischievously.
“I don’t place just anybody above me.”
“Wow. Princes truly are different.”
The two of them chuckled together before starting to walk again.
They had a quest to complete today.
Slash, slash.
Ahn Roh Man moved his sword to create a path as they walked through the jungle.
Alberu just leisurely walked behind him and looked at Ahn Roh Man instead of looking around.
‘Ahn Roh Man.’
He was helping Cale and Alberu because of his bad relationship with the Transparent © as well as other reasons.
It could be called a form of cooperation, but…
‘…He is not an ally.’
Ahn Roh Man.
This guy was not someone they could trust.
He was more wicked than they expected and Alberu was sure that Ahn Roh Man had his own goals that he was hiding from Cale and himself.
Alberu just hadn't figured it out yet.
‘Hmm.’
Alberu’s gaze sank deeply while looking at Ahn Roh Man's back.
Slash slash.
Ahn Roh Man's gaze, as he slashed through the jungle to create a path, was as dark as the shadows of the jungle as well.
‘It’s not easy.’
‘This isn’t easy.’
Alberu Crossman and Ahn Roh Man…
The two of them had the same assessment of each other as they slashed through the jungle in silence.
Of course, Alberu had not accepted Main Quest 2 yet.
??God and the hero.
The hero's allies.
Seeing that list of words made him realize that it was an issue that would only be resolved once he met with Cale Henituse.
‘However-’
Alberu snorted.
‘A hero?
They want me to be a hero?
A guy like me?
What nonsense.’
Alberu, who was pretty good at being objective about himself, believed that while he could pretend to be a hero, he was not someone who could be a true hero or had the character to become one.
‘Choi Han or Cale Henituse… Or even Rosalyn-
Yeah, people like them.’
Alberu already had a lot of people around him who resembled the hero and the hero's allies you often read about in fairytales.
‘As for me-
I'm suited for the King who gives the missions to the hero.’
“Pfft.”
Alberu chuckled once more before he stopped thinking about Main Quest 2 and continued to walk.

He needed to become an Emperor in this game.

Cale looked at the empty chair across from him once Inquisitor 3 left.
“Will she do as you think?”
Cale nodded his head at the First Bishop's concerned voice.
The First Bishop still seemed anxious and added on.
"What if she goes and tells Axion everything? Commander-nim, what if she reveals your existence to the other Inquisitors-”
“It doesn’t matter, does it?”
Cale shrugged his shoulders.
“Even in the worst case scenario, we just end up in battles. That’s something we have to do anyway.”
Cale's answer could seem extremely lackadaisical.
However, the First Bishop closed his mouth after hearing what Cale said next.
“Please don't worry. That is why we put a tail on her.”
“That is true.”
The First Bishop thought about what he had seen a few moments ago.
Cale Henituse suddenly looked up at the air and started talking.
‘Freedom, are you there?’
A small whirlwind had appeared next to him.
Clunk. Clunk.
The reception room window suddenly shook violently and Clopeh had opened the window.
Gusts of wind burst into the room.
‘…Wind Elementals-!’
Seeing Elza open her eyes wide in shock made the First Bishop understand that Wind Elementals had appeared.
‘Freedom will be by your side.’
Elza’s pupils shook at Cale’s comment. He did not miss that moment and continued in a low voice.
‘I guess you are able to sense the existence of the Elementals. But you are someone who cannot see Elementals.’
‘…….’
Elza could not say anything and left with a Wind Elemental keeping an eye on her.
“…Even if Elza tries to do something, we will get that information. There is no need for us to worry.”
The First Bishop let out a quiet sigh and relaxed.
On the other side of the door, Elza shook her stiff shoulders while looking at the closed reception room door.
However, her body was still stiff.
She could not get herself to stop being so tense.
Shaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa-
A breeze suddenly blew through the hallway despite there being no source of wind.
A breeze carrying refreshing air gently brushed past her cheek.
It seemed to be telling her to relax.
Elza’s face turned odd.
‘Someone who cannot see Elementals.’
It was a nickname as shameful to Elza as Elf Butcher.
An Elf who could not see Elementals and could not contract with them.
That Elf was truly an useless Elf. But there had been Elves who protected her and treated her warmly despite her issue.
She called the deceased former tribe leader her Uncle, but she was actually an orphan.
Her Uncle brought her with him when she was thrown away at such a young age that she could not even remember it. He cherished her as if she was his own child and raised her.
Sometimes sternly, other times warmly…
He told her to call him father, but she could not get herself to do so. That was why she called him uncle.
Her uncle’s children had treated her as if she was one of their siblings.
All of them had died.
Because they went against the Dragon Lord's orders.
‘It is true that we respect the Dragons, but that is because they do things that deserve our respect. We cannot respect their existence itself. If they cast aside their role as the neutral party that protects our world and become greedy, we must resist them.’
Her uncle never strayed from that decision.
It almost led to the entire tribe being killed, but the Grand Elder lowering his head allowed their line to continue.
‘I would like to meet the Grand Elder.’
Elza slightly frowned.
Cale Henituse. She recalled what the red-haired human had said.
‘I hope you can set up a meeting. Tonight would be great.’
That was him informing her.
Just like with the Dragon Lord, she had no choice but to do as he asked.
Shaa–
The breeze gently embraced her face and moved past again.
She would feel the breeze touching the scowl on her face.
Elza’s face turned odd.
The human who gave off a suffocating aura…
She recalled something else he said.
‘I guess you are able to sense the existence of the Elementals. But you are someone who cannot see Elementals.’
Elza had not been able to say anything.
She thought that even this human was looking down on her.
She had to submit to the aura of the individual looking down on her and could not even move her head as she pleased. She felt so weak and useless.
The human said something at that moment.
‘There is an Elf around me as well who cannot contract with an Elemental.’
Elza had flinched at his casual comment.
‘There is another Elf like that?
Ah, that guy is quite skilled at healing. He’s almost at the level of a high-ranking priest.’
Cale was talking about Pendrick.
‘He has his healing powers while you seem to have received fighting power, Elza.’
His nonchalant tone carried a peculiar sense of calm that made it sound as if he was just stating a fact.
“Haaaaa.”
Elza sighed before chuckling at the breeze that tickled her cheek.
She could not see the Elemental so she spoke into the air.
"Aren’t you supposed to be keeping an eye on me? Is it okay to console me like this, Mr. Elemental?”
She could not see or hear Elementals.
She could just sense the presence of Elementals when they used their powers.
That was why she could not hear what the Elementals around her were saying.
‘Sniff sniff… Freedom! Fragrant scent! An Elf that I like! Finally found!’
Some of the Wind Elementals by Freedom’s side mumbled.
‘Hey, shouldn't we tell that Elf that there is a crazy Elemental by her side?’
‘I don’t know. That Elf can’t even hear us.’
‘What should we do?’
‘Ah, I don’t know! She can’t contract with him anyway, so what’s the worst that could happen?’
‘I guess so.’
Freedom mumbled to himself.
‘Freedom, chaos! Ideal! Strong Elf! Sniff sniff! An Elf Swordsman! Chaos! Destruction! Crush! Keke!’
Flutter flutter.
A gentle and refreshing breeze roamed around Elza’s side.
She felt odd as she had never had an experience like this but started to walk again. She had a reason to go back to the Grand Elder-nim.
“Mm.”
She hurried before stopping again.
She looked back at the closed reception room door.
“…I warned him, so he should have understood.”
She jumped out the second floor hallway window and started walking toward the rear garden to find the Grand Elder.
Cale was still looking at the empty chair, thinking about what she had said.
“I'll know once I chat with him?”
Elza had told him stuff about Axion.
“Based on his personality, I'm certain that Axion will want to chat with you. He doesn’t prefer to fight if possible. He despises his people getting hurt.’
Elza sighed before continuing to speak.
‘Whether it is me, the Grand Elder-nim… Even all of the different races and humans under him… He truly cherishes all of us. He cares about all of us. That is why he would want to avoid a fight if possible. He will want to chat with you for that reason.’
The First Bishop had said that was good.
Elza sighed and responded.
‘…You’ll know once you chat with him.’
Cale had read the fear visible on her face.
Elza was speaking calmly but she was definitely scared.
‘…The fact that you can’t communicate with crazy bastards… You’ll know once you meet him yourself.’
Cale leaned against the back of the chair.
“A crazy bastard you can't communicate with.”
It was at that moment.
“Hoo hoo.”
The low laugh gave Cale the chills.
He slowly looked to the side.
Chhh-
Cale watched the tea filling the teacup before looking at Clopeh who was pouring the tea.
Clopeh smiled gently as they made eye contact and started to speak.
“Cale-nim. There is something I realized after creating the Indomitable Alliance.”
His words revealed his desire to give Cale advice.
Cale decided to hear him out.
Clopeh continued in a gentle tone.
“There are no crazy bastards who don’t listen.”
“Yeah?”
“Yes, I've met all sorts of characters people call crazy bastards, but they were all able to be convinced if you talked to them properly.”
Clopeh looked holy, as he usually did, when he smiled.
“They all ended up nodding their heads at my story and telling me that everything I said was correct.”
“…….”
Cale’s face turned unsettled but Clopeh continued in his calm tone.
"Cale-nim, you speak better than I do and anybody who chats with you will see your character, which is much more amazing than my own, so I'm certain that they will listen to you.”
“…I see.”
For some reason, Cale felt certain that the reason Clopeh's conversational partners felt like they were able to communicate well with him was not simply because Clopeh was a good talker, but…
He didn't want to continue this conversation so he just agreed.
‘Yes, I'm sure it was like this.
I'm sure they all responded like I did.’
Cale ignored Clopeh's smile.
* * *
Later that evening…
They decided that it was difficult to infiltrate via teleportation magic circle because of magic devices and it was determined that Raon would come with Choi Han tomorrow in the second group of priests.
“Commander-nim.”
Pope Casillia did not hide her tired face as she spoke to Cale.
“This is what Axion said to me.”
The Pope wondered how Cale could be so relaxed as he stood there waiting for her to speak. She explained what had happened.
“He said that he is curious about the person cooperating with me and wishes to have a meal with you.”
Axion was reaching a hand out to Cale through the Pope.
In an extremely peaceful manner at that.
In return, Cale gave an extremely peaceful and positive answer back.
“Sure, we can do that. Please let him know that I look forward to a delicious meal.”
Elza came to look for him not long after that.
Shaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa-
A breeze that was a bit stronger than last time was roaming around her.
"The Grand Elder-nim has accepted your request for a meeting.”
Cale looked out to see that the sun had set and night had arrived before answering Elza.
“That sounds great. Let's go.”
It was time to meet the Grand Elder and the World Tree.
