The Young master's fake bride and her lucky system-Chapter 286: Assistant Gu sees a ghost.
Caishen smiled widely and shook his head as much as he could in his position. The elder of the Tai family was loud mouthed, outspoken, rude, pretentious, tough, ambitious and focused. Not that these were bad qualities but he would have preferred for his wife not to emulate most of them. A woman that couldn’t even curse, how could she possibly be as rude as the old man?
He did have good qualities too, the best of them all being his big heart. He had opened it up to Alix and given her a safe place.
Caishen was not blind and he had noticed that the Zhang family was not necessarily a warm place in his wife’s eyes. He hoped that this would change in future.
"I think I have discovered something that we both like which makes us happy." She said.
He lowered his eyes and met hers that were looking up at his.
"This, we both like sleeping. Think about it, we usually cuddle and sleep at various times of the day." she shared.
He thought about it as she suggested and he thought about the time they spent alone at home. They did cuddle and sleep a lot, especially now in the winter. They were like two bears hibernating on and off whenever they got a chance.
For someone that used to find it hard to sleep after his accident, it was an enjoyable way to pass time. He loved being surrounded by her warmth. He would never admit it but she made him feel safe, and it was not because of her immeasurable strength. It wasn’t because she had punched two people and broken their jaws.
It was because she was very nurturing, caring, sweet and warm. The word warm made itself present in his thoughts again when he thought about her. It was the word he would use to describe her if someone asked him to.
Except for the moments when they lost themselves in the throes of passion. She wasn’t warm but hot, riveting like electricity. Thinking about her in such a way caused a discomfort in his groin.
He took a deep breath and eliminated the pesky thought immediately.
"Is what we are doing considered to be fraternization at work?" she asked. "I have heard that the Zhang group has strict rules on such things. You don’t allow office romance."
"Not office, just same department romance. If two people choose to pursue a relationship then one must move to another department. The policy was put in place to avoid unfortunate events."
She giggled and said, "Like throwing coffee in the other person’s face after a break up."
He frowned a little and laughed. "No. I don’t think that has ever happened here. It’s a precaution to prevent one individual from sabotaging the other’s work after a break up. And then there is the issue of gossip which prevents the employees from being productive, the discomfort of having to work together and see one another all day. The policy was put in place to protect the employees and much as the company."
"I heard that you make them some papers with human resources too." she said, more like questioned as she wasn’t sure.
He nodded. "To protect the company from liability. Huaifai home electronics was sued a couple of years ago because someone committed suicide at work after a break up with a fellow employee."
"Oh, i remember this." she said eagerly.
It had been national news and people had condemned all companies that didn’t care about the mental health of their employees. The parents of the dead woman actually won the law suit and a manager had lost her job when the company was cleaning up it’s image. Even the man involved in the relationship was terminated from his position.
Caishen pulled her body to his and leaned his head down. He whispered to her in English, "It doesn’t matter when it comes to us however, I own the company."
Alix pulled her head inward and chuckled. Her chuckle resulted in him chuckling too. He had been anticipating the silly laughter as soon as he switched to English.
"Now you are teasing me." she replied softly.
She didn’t move however as he invaded her space by bring his face closer to hers. A smile formed on her face when he touched the back of her head.
"Yes I am." he admitted.
"I know that you want to kiss me." she said.
"Yes I do." he whispered. He looked at her lips and smiled. "They are pretty."
"Hmm." she responded.
"Your lips, they are pretty." he told her.
A shy smiled broached on her lips and she couldn’t hold it back. No man had ever said that to her, especially not in the seductive voice he was using.
A small girly giggle escaped her lips and she blushed.
He leaned down and licked the corner of her lips. "A pretty mouth that I want to kiss."
Alix lost all willpower to stop him and she closed her eyes just as his lips brushed hers. It crossed her mind as he kissed her passionately that work fraternization was actually good. Office romance was one of the best romances.
Outside of Caishen’s office, assistant Gu who was unaware of what his boss and wife were doing inside was ready to escort the medical examiner, his sister Ning into the office.
The doctor was rather impatient because she had at most thirty minutes to spare before rushing out to examine a body for the police.
"Wait here, the boss’s wife is inside so I should give him a heads up first."
"Aah, Caishen’s piano wife." her eyes lit up.
"Right, you are Zhang Bo’s fan." Gu Biming mumbled. He had escorted her to his last fan concert where they saw Alix play the piano and cello.
Biming pushed the door open slowly and went inside quietly. As soon as he set his eyes on the orange couch and saw what was happening, his eyes popped wide open.
Not making a single sound, he walked backwards as quickly and quietly as he could, and closed the door slowly.
After closing the door, he grabbed sister Ning’s arm and pulled her away forcefully, bringing her to his office.
"What, why do you look like you have seen a ghost?" Ning asked him.
Biming put a hand over his heart and replied, "It’s worse than a ghost."
"What?" she asked curiously.
Biming pointed to his mouth. He looked around his empty office as if he was looking for spies and then he said in a scandalized voice, "Kiss."
"Kiss." she replied loudly.
Biming grabbed her by the waist and covered her mouth with his free hand. "Not so loud. Caishen will have my head for having a loose mouth if word gets out that he was kissing his wife in the office."
Ning slapped his hands away and he let her go. She glared at him and said, "They are married, is it news that they kiss? Aah, you are acting like as if it’s a big deal."
Biming opened his mouth and closed it a few times as he looked at Ning. He had no way of explaining that everyone in their little group thought Caishen was in a sexless marriage.
"This is crazy, oooh, this is crazy." Biming groaned and sat down.
He wasn’t sure if he should tell the others or not about this big news.
