The Ultimate War Of The Apocalypse-Chapter 381 - 374
Chapter 381: 374
Gao Yuan mentioned some things that were already widely known in Shenzhou, such as the Armored Beasts, and how the Serpent People would attack any team with even a modest scale.
The value of intelligence, or rather, the value of information, does not lie in how many people know it, but in whether it can be shared. Perhaps in Shenzhou, commonly known things are not a secret, but in distant Africa, which has lost communication, these are extremely valuable, high-value intelligence.
What is common knowledge to the high-ranking officials of America is intelligence worth a fortune in the eyes of Russians unacquainted with it.
Now, it was the same for Nate.
Gao Yuan really told everything he knew, of course, that which he could say, and Nate was indeed very interested, especially learning that the aliens don’t just drop viruses but also release monsters like the Armored Beasts, which clearly startled him.
Nate often fell into deep thought, and his brows never unwound.
"This place is a remote corner, so the aliens haven’t paid much attention here, but once the aliens have dealt with the threats in key areas, they will eventually turn their attention here. I hope you can prepare in advance," Gao Yuan finished speaking.
After a long pause, Nate ended his contemplation, nodded at Gao Yuan, gave a slight smile, and said, "I’ve decided to establish the Fourth German Will, right here."
"Uh, what? What do you mean?"
Nate sighed and said, "If you have any dreams, remember to realize them early, lest you lose the chance forever."
It was an unrelated answer, but Nate’s expression became serious, and he slowly continued, "I do not think humanity has hope of victory, but I also do not believe that humanity should just wait to die, no, it’s sitting around waiting to die, it’s... it’s..."
Gao Yuan said, "Both idioms are correct."
Nate nodded and said, "Good, you understand my point, so there’s nothing more to discuss now."
He turned to look at his adjutant and murmured an instruction; the adjutant immediately called on the walkie-talkie. Moments later, the adjutant started making continuous reports to Nate.
Their conversation lasted a few minutes before Nate said to Gao Yuan, "First aid has ended, your injured must be sent to our base, or if you have a better place for them."
Gao Yuan hesitated, then turned to Li Jingang standing behind him and said, "Ask about the condition of the injured."
Li Jingang had helped Ashraf with some items and had been watching over the injured in the house. When Gao Yuan asked, he immediately whispered, "Li Yang, Panxin, Liu Chunxiao, Wang Ning, seriously injured, Song Qian, Nie Erlong, Cao Zhenjiang, lightly injured."
Gao Yuan’s heart bled upon hearing this. There were too many wounded; Spark Squad had lost over half its strength, severely damaging its vitality.
For the seriously injured to heal would take many months, at the very least two, while the lightly injured would take no less than a couple of weeks up to a month to recover.
Therefore, the seriously injured must be properly placed in a safe location, as there was no other option. Gao Yuan couldn’t possibly continue dragging them along on a long journey; if they didn’t die in battle, they would perish on the way.
This battle had saved the Angel Mercenary Corps but had severely weakened Spark Squad. However, if they hadn’t relieved the Angels, Gao Yuan’s path might well have ended here anyway, so it wasn’t clear who had saved whom. It was mutual assistance.
After pondering for a moment, Gao Yuan said to Nate, "Would it be appropriate for our wounded to recover at your base?"
Nate immediately said, "Of course not, since we might be attacked by Sanitation Workers at any time. We still have the necessary medical supplies, but we lack proper recovery conditions. If the injured can only stay in an unpleasant underground shelter long term, it’s obviously not conducive to recovery. Unless you have better conditions and a place for the wounded, you’ll have to leave them here. You couldn’t possibly intend to take them to find Ram, could you?"
This was the honest truth; it wasn’t feasible to travel long distances with the seriously injured, but Nate’s place was obviously not an ideal spot for recovery, mainly because his base could be breached at any time.
Therefore, the best choice could only be to send the seriously wounded back home by ship to recover in Israel. Regardless, the situation in Israel is far better than here.
Gao Yuan immediately made a decision, turning to Li Jingang and saying, "Ask if our people can return with the ship, and if so, what medical conditions they need."
Li Jingang also responded immediately, "They can return. There are enough staff and medicine on the ship. I’ve already communicated with Li Yang, who, after discussing it with Avi, believes that returning by ship is the best choice."
Li Yang had anticipated the situation, saving everyone a lot of trouble. Gao Yuan immediately looked at Nate and said, "Our seriously injured will go to Israel; we have a sailboat that can send them away."
Nate nodded and smiled, "Good."
"I hope you can help us transport the injured to the coast."
Nate smiled and said, "Of course."
Gao Yuan now had a plan for the seriously injured, but had not yet decided on arrangements for the lightly wounded; he decided to make a decision based on the recovery time needed by the injured.
"Mr. Schumacher, when do you think the Sanitation Workers will launch their next offensive?"
"It could be at any time, but based on past encounters, the Sanitation Workers need to regroup their troops and move tanks and artillery, which should take at least half a month. So, if the Sanitation Workers launch a major offensive, it won’t be for another fifteen days," Schumacher answered.
Gao Yuan said, "Alright, we need to rest here for some time, is that okay?"
"Of course, that’s not a problem," Schumacher affirmed.
The adjutant glanced at his watch, whispered to Nate, who nodded, then said to Gao Yuan, "Then, our conversation can now come to an end."
Just then, Li Jingang whispered to Gao Yuan, "Avi wants to talk to him; you need to bring it up."
Gao Yuan immediately said, "Mr. Schumacher, among us, we have an officer from Israel who would like to speak with you, but he has limited mobility, could you go in and talk to him?"
Nate stood up and said, "It’s time to talk, let’s go."
As Nate got up, Gao Yuan followed suit, and the adjutant immediately began to pack up the arranged tables and chairs. Within a minute, everything had been stowed in the trunk of the car.
Never mind their combat power, the people of the Angel Mercenary Corps were certainly quick at clearing tables and chairs.
Li Jingang led the way, with Gao Yuan and Nate walking side by side into the building and up to the second floor. By this time, Li Yang had lost a leg and was lying on a stretcher that could be propped up, while Avi lay beside Li Yang.
Avi looked at Nate, Nate looked at Avi; Avi lay there, Nate stood.
After a long gaze, Avi finally said, "Mad Wolf."
"That’s me."
Avi took a breath and said softly, "You plan to establish a nation."
"Yes."
The conversation seemed a bit explosive, and Gao Yuan initially didn’t understand it, but he quickly grasped why.
Nate was from Germany, and his men, mainly those from the direct lineage units, were also German. Avi, however, was from Israel, a Jew. Considering the history between these two groups, it was easy to understand why there was tension, because Israel would not tolerate an armed force established by a German right under its nose.
Despite lying down, and being surrounded by Nate’s men on Nate’s territory, Avi still exuded a strong presence.
"What kind of nation?"
Nate didn’t hesitate, his face serious and stern as he said, "A real nation, one where soldiers have dignity."
Avi tilted his head, still intently watching Nate. Nate continued coolly, "But you don’t have to worry. I have never considered Jews as enemies; that’s not what I’m after, so you don’t have to feel fear."
"We have never feared, because we will eliminate threats in their infancy."
Nate smiled, then he clasped his hands behind his back and said, "You haven’t managed to eliminate me."
"That’s because we haven’t really made a move yet."
A German and an Israeli, yet they were conversing in Chinese.
Why was that? It was because neither wanted to use the other’s language, and then, of course, there was another Shenzhou person as the observer.
Knowing foreign languages is great, and knowing more is even better. Gao Yuan felt envious.
The two men continued to lock eyes, but Gao Yuan finally couldn’t help saying, "Can we talk about something constructive? I think, with the aliens attacking in full force, isn’t it time for you to put aside historical grievances and look to the future?"
Nate responded immediately, "I have no problem with that."
Avi looked at Gao Yuan and said softly, "Have you forgiven Japan?"
"Uh, that’s..."
Gao Yuan scratched his head, then said in a low voice, "As a nation, Japan doesn’t exist anymore."
Avi was silent for a moment, then he turned to Nate and said, "What do you think?"
Nate unhesitatingly said, "What I think is none of your concern, because I’m fighting the Sanitation Worker, and then I’m going to hit the aliens hard. While you’re incapable of doing anything, you don’t need to worry about what I’m thinking."
Avi said coolly, "We have the capacity and the will to do a lot. If you request it, we can support you and join forces against the aliens, including the Sanitation Worker."
Nate smiled slightly, the corners of his mouth curling up as he said, "Request? That’s a good word. If you send a request to me, I’ll consider cooperating with you, providing the necessary support."
So much for cooperation, Gao Yuan had already given up any hope of Nate receiving help.
After thinking, Gao Yuan said in a low voice, "If you don’t mind, do you agree to a three-way cooperation? No, it should be four-way, there are also the Russians..."
Avi immediately looked at Gao Yuan and said, "I’m injured and can’t continue to move forward with you, but I will immediately request to dispatch troops to move with you."
Gao Yuan immediately said, "We don’t need many people, but they must be elite."
After a moment’s consideration, Avi said, "We have suitable candidates. Our Egg Bomb Squad is always on standby."
"Egg Bomb Squad?"
While Gao Yuan found the name curious, Nate’s lips curled up again, and he slightly raised his head without showing any disdain, his natural arrogance evident as he said, "The Egg Bomb Squad trained by the Ram? Indeed, they would be quite suitable to cooperate with the Ram in combat."
After speaking, Nate looked obliquely at Gao Yuan and said, "I can consider sending a part of Angel’s Main Squad to work with you. As for the number, half of the Egg Bomb Squad will suffice."
They couldn’t keep reducing the numbers, or Avi’s men would be cut in half as well. So Gao Yuan hurriedly said, "Let’s agree on that, then. Both sides will send the same number of troops. Good, it’s settled!"
