Chapter 218: Chapter 164 Heavenly Marriage (Part 2)

Due to the grandeur of the Demon Race’s preparations, and the prohibition laid upon each wedding invitation, one could activate it to illuminate the unique symbol of the Demon Race on the invitation, thus granting entry to the Heavenly Court to present congratulatory gifts. This way, imposters with fake invitations could be prevented. In the Heavenly Court, the Demon Gods had arranged for registrations and received the guests there to attend the ceremony.

However, those who arrived first were mostly lesser Primordial Creatures with low Cultivation. The Primordial Great Powers, on the other hand, always arrived late, or rather, they made it just in time toward the very end.

Bai Xing, the grandson of the strategist Bai Ze, was tasked with receiving guests at the South Heavenly Gate. He possessed the ability to identify all kinds of Spiritual Objects in the world and was articulate and observant, which helped him avoid giving offense to any Great Power. Evidently, Bai Ze had put a lot of thought into the Heavenly Marriage.

Within the palaces of the Heavenly Court, these early arriving creatures were allowed first entry and indulged in Immortal Fruit and exquisite brews. Those familiar with each other engaged in discussions on scriptures and doctrines, while strangers with their own agendas gathered in groups to network, chatting away joyfully.

Usually, these small families either lived exposed to the elements or cultivated alone in their caves, seldom having such luxurious experiences. Even without meeting the great powers of the Demon Race, these creatures still felt immensely satisfied.

...

When Bai Ze and Kunpeng led the other Demon Saints back to the South Heavenly Gate, the main attraction began.

The first Primordial Great Power to arrive at the Heavenly Court for congratulatory wishes turned out to be The Three Pure Ones.

Laozi rode the Green Bull, with Xuandou standing behind him; Yuan Shi Tianzun rode the Four Unlikes, accompanied by Randeng and the Nanji Immortal; Tongtian Sect Leader sat upon the Kui Ox, while Duo Bao Little Fatty was leading the Kui Ox.

Kunpeng’s eyes lit up, and he rushed forward to grab the wedding invitations from The Three Pure Ones, and without even looking, he shouted at the top of his voice: "Taiqing Daode Tianzun arrives! Yuqing Yuanshi Tianzun arrives! Shangqing Lingbao Dao Venerable arrives!"

The Three Pure Ones had just set foot inside the South Heavenly Gate for no more than a quarter of an hour when a sprawling vermilion glow started to spread from the southwest. All the demons looked up to see that it was the Netherworld River Taoist of the Netherworld Blood Sea.

The Netherworld River Taoist was dressed in a Blood Robe, striding a Blood Qilin beneath him. The Qilin was wholly crimson with shining scales and snorted fiercely. By the Netherworld River’s side stood Tie Shan, who was slender and captivating with a beautiful face.

And next to them was surprisingly another Daoist—Zhen Yuanzi, the master of the Wuzhuang Temple.

Kunpeng took the wedding invitations from the two Great Powers and bellowed: "Netherworld Divine Venerable arrives! Immortal Zhenyuan of Wanshou Mountain’s Wuzhuang Temple arrives!"

With each loud announcement, one after another, Saints and Primordial Great Powers arrived. The entire Heavenly Court immediately fell silent, quieting down from the previous hustle and bustle. Although everyone knew that the Demon Race of the Heavenly Court had sent invitations to all the Saints and Great Powers, they had assumed that it would be good enough if just a disciple or two came to offer congratulations. They never anticipated that these Saints and Great Powers would personally attend, marking an extraordinary honor.

Now, out of the seven Saints, five had already arrived, with only the Western Two Saints yet to appear. To the many guests present to witness the event, it seemed certain that the Western Two Saints would also come; it was just a matter of time.

Meanwhile, before Netherworld River and Zhen Yuanzi could enter the South Heavenly Gate, they witnessed an intriguing scene.

"Boom!"

Suddenly, like thunder from a clear sky, the Spiritual Energy between Heaven and Earth violently surged. A spectrum of colors—red, orange, yellow, green, cyan, blue, indigo, violet—rose from the base of Mount Buzhou.

Where was the base of Mount Buzhou? Any discerning person could see that the thirteen beams of light came from the Ancestral Witch Hall, and the newcomers clearly bore no good intentions.

Hearing the commotion, Netherworld River and Zhen Yuanzi halted their steps, their eyes shining curiously as they looked at the thirteen beams of light getting closer.

"Hahaha, how could we, the Twelve Ancestor Witches, miss the wedding of Di Jun and Taiyi!" Di Jiang burst into laughter, making a sudden appearance in front of the South Heavenly Gate.

The remaining twelve beams of light also revealed their true bodies inside.

"Exactly, how can we not count as neighbors?" Zhu Rong casually flicked his ear, pretending to be magnanimous as he blew a breath of air and said, "Forget it, since you also sent us invitations, let’s put aside our differences for now!"

At these words, Bai Ze and the Demon Clan Saints turned pale with anger. They were itching to charge forward and fight with these newcomers but remembered that today was a celebration in the Heavenly Court and forcibly swallowed their fury, grinding their teeth.

Kunpeng sneaked a glance at Heaven and Earth Taoist, saw his slight nod, and knew what to do. Despite some grudges with these Ancestor Witches, if Kunpeng could let go of his resentment, given that these people belonged to Li Qingming, he still had that much magnanimity.

With a forced and ugly smile, Kunpeng approached Di Jiang to take his wedding invitation, and with resignation, he announced loudly: "The Witch Tribe’s Twelve Ancestor Witches have arrived!"

Though the shout was loud, it seemed somewhat pale and weak.

The demonic crowd of the Heavenly Court, upon hearing this call, reacted as if facing a formidable enemy, each of them on full alert.

Yet, who would have thought that the Twelve Ancestor Witches and that extremely peculiar black-robed Daoist would enter the Heavenly Court as if returning to their own home, eating spirit fruits and drinking jade liquid, perfectly at ease? This left the Great Demons utterly baffled.

As time trickled by, roughly an hour passed. Figures like The Queen Mother of the West, Yellow Wind Demon Saint... and other renowned Primordial Land powers had all arrived, except for the two Saints from the West.

Just as Di Jun and the other newlyweds could wait no longer, growing increasingly dissatisfied with the Western Two Saints, the corpulent Mile, stepping on a Sixth Grade Golden Lotus, floated merrily to the front of the South Heavenly Gate.

"Poor monk has arrived late, and asks for forgiveness from all fellow Daoists!" Mile said, his belly bulging, as he wedged the jade wedding invitation into Bai Ze’s hand with a beaming smile. He then barged through the South Heavenly Gate without even glancing at the gathering Great Demons guarding the gate.

Bai Ze, Kunpeng, and several Demon Saints were fuming! Even if their masters had arrived, they would still exchange polite words with them. But now, this mere junior, showed such a lack of manners.

Bai Ze, too agitated to care for anything else, tossed the wedding invitation to his grandson Bai Xing and entered the South Heavenly Gate with an ashen face.

Kunpeng and the other Demon Saints looked at each other, smiling bitterly as they shook their heads and followed suit.

With a grimace, Bai Xing opened the jade invitation in his hand and called out in a listless voice, "Saint Jieyin, Saint Zhunti... and Maitreya Buddha who sits beneath them have arrived!"

"Eh?" The guests who came to the ceremony were all stunned, "What’s this situation? Could it be that the Western Two Saints sent only a single disciple to deal with this Heavenly Wedding Ceremony? Isn’t this a blatant slap in the face to the rest of the Five Saints?"

The rest of the Five Saints, as well as those guests from Zixiao Palace back in the day, all suddenly turned pale with anger.

"These Jieyin and Zhunti are truly shameless, to look down on us like this! Do they think they can compare to our Master Hong Jun?" Primordial Venerable, who valued face the most, was raging with anger. The heavy pressure of a Saint instantly erupted like a swelling tide.

The entire Palace of the Polestar was shrouded in this terrifying aura, as Laozi sighed softly, waving his sleeves to dissipate the pressure into nothingness.

Netherworld River Taoist, Lady Nuwa, Immortal Zhenyuan, Kunpeng... each guest from Zixiao Palace wore an extremely uncomfortable expression, their faces so dark, they seemed almost ready to drip water. The usually bold and straightforward Tongtian Sect Leader was even more murderous, with his Qingping Sword buzzing behind him, as if ready to unsheathe and charge towards the West at any moment.

The other guests watched in dread and kept their silence, afraid of upsetting these powerful figures in their anger. The atmosphere in the Palace of the Polestar was so tense, one could hear a pin drop.

In contrast, Di Jun and Taiyi, who should have been the most outraged, were unusually calm, showing a strange serenity on their faces.

Mile, with a smile on his face, exchanged greetings with some familiar faces from the Demon Race on the way to the Palace of the Polestar. He had no idea that he had been set up by his own revered Master, and into such a massive, deep pit at that.

After walking for less than the time it takes to drink a cup of tea, the bare-chested Mile energetically stepped into the grand gate of the Palace of the Polestar.

But just as he set one foot inside, Mile was forced to halt in his tracks, his entire body as if frozen in place.

"Amitabha! The Three Pure Ones, Netherworld Sect Ancestor, Lady Nuwa, how could such high and mighty Saints think to attend a mere ant’s wedding! Master, oh Master, you’ve really put me in a tough spot!" Mile cried out in agony inside. He was currently under the pressure of at least three Saints, the immense aura weighing down on him so heavily that he dared not make the slightest move, for fear of dying by these Saints’ hands.

Mile’s lips squeezed out a forced, unsightly smile, "The poor monk Mile greets all Saints! May the Saints live long and prosperous!"

"Hmph!"

Tongtian, Primordial, and Netherworld River simultaneously snorted coldly and withdrew their aura, deliberately ignoring Mile.

"Mile Daoist, may I ask how your Master Uncles Jieyin and Zhunti have been recently?" Li Qingming, seeing Mile, felt like enemies meeting each other, especially red-eyed. If it hadn’t been for Mile’s intervention, how could he have faced Zhunti so early and be beaten until his cultivation was worn down? Remembering Zhunti and Mile’s arrogance that day, Li Qingming was infuriated.

"Ha, ha, it turns out to be Daoist Qingmingzi, my Master and Master Uncle are well, thank you for your concern!" Mile chuckled twice, settling down at his designated jade table, and even casually picked up a spirit fruit and started eating.

Li Qingming laughed, "Hahaha, after the Heavenly Marriage, we must get to know each other better!"

"Pfft!" Mile hadn’t even swallowed the spirit fruit he had just bitten into when he was startled by Li Qingming’s words and spat it out! Who do you think you are, Li Qingming? You’re someone who dared to confront Master Zhunti! A hundred of me would not be enough for you to beat, isn’t this just outright bullying?

Wiping the remnants of the spirit fruit from his mouth, Mile touched his bald head, his complexion suddenly turning pale as paper, and chuckled dryly: "Daoist friend must be joking, just joking!"
