The Emperor's Omega Is An Extra-Chapter 252: Planned Abduction (1)
Chapter 252: Planned Abduction (1)
He soon dismissed this thought. Perhaps saying he was too worried for Arren’s safety was even more accurate in this situation. He couldn’t be blamed for it.
Arren was really a prime target for the organization. If not for the unexpected situation on the frontlines, Spade would not leave the capital. It was also not possible to bring Arren with him, as it could even pose a greater risk.
Frowning, Spade shook his head and calmed his negative thoughts. After dismissing everyone and ordering them to return to their respective positions, Spade, his secretary, and a few of his guards were left inside the tent.
Spade took his phone and decided to call Arren. Instead of worrying here, he could just ask the omega. The call rang a few times before a busy tone sounded.
He frowned and dialed again. It only repeated itself the first time. Busy? His brows knitted and he looked at his phone, but after seeing the time, Despite being uneasy, he realized that maybe Arren visited his omega father.
He knew that Arren would be cooking the dishes for him, and in most cases, it was really possible that the omega didn’t bring his phone with him.
Nonetheless, he was not completely at ease.
"Serrien," Spade called his secretary, who stood not far away from him.
"Yes, Your Majesty?"
Unclasping his hand that was already clenched into a fist without him knowing, he continued. "Tell a team of royal guards to check on Arren and tell him I’m calling."
Serrien nodded and immediately complied.
The royal guards were actually stationed outside, and they weren’t really guarding Arren 24/7, which was Spade’s way of respecting the omega’s freedom and boundaries.
Spade was also confident in the defense of the capital, and there was no way to really sneak in from inside without knowing its structures at all. It could even be said that the organization’s force sneaking in without the guards’ knowledge was close to zero.
However, it was truly his neglect. Yes, the organization alone didn’t have the means to bypass the security outside and stealthily go inside the palace with its strict structure. Spade failed to take his aunt, Princess Noreen, to the account.
Well, who would have guessed this situation? The Princess was a member of the royal family and even a direct descendant; her knowledge of the structure of the royal palace was no less than that of Spade. Especially so for some of the significant and most hidden secret passages in the palace.
And, unbeknownst to everyone, the princess who was being traced by Levin was now in front of the empress and Arren! And she was not alone.
The tension continued to rise the moment Princess Noreen entered the room, and soon men in black outfits followed in until they completely occupied the room and blocked the exit.
The last one that entered, Arren, was too familiar with Duke Merphen. Someone who was also being hunted by the Black Intel and suspected of already escaped with the leader.
Arren bit his lips so hard that he tasted blood. His hand that was gripping the armrest had already gone white as he shuddered all over his body. The moment he saw them, Arren already guessed the possibilities.
Empress Liviera’s eyes widened with shock, and as he recovered, a burning anger flickered in his eyes when he looked at the princess he hated to the core.
"You bitch! How dare you return here?" the empress shouted with firm madness as he rushed towards the princess but was stopped by the black-clothed men. His eyes only became fiercer, but he didn’t force his way in.
Although his mind was really being overtaken by anger at this moment, to the point where his body was shivering from anger, Liviera’s little reason left still knew that he couldn’t win against the black-clothed men who were the organization’s men.
However, he was not yet finished. Not only was he furious at Princess Noreen, but his anger was also aroused by Duke Merphen’s presence.
"You old bastard still have the guts to return to the capital? A traitor like you will be hung in the gutter sooner or later. No, Laurent, I will kill him myself!" the Empress stated with his gritted teeth.
Duke Merphen only looked at the Empress but didn’t answer, although some obvious disdain flickered in his eyes.
Princess Noreen’s smile didn’t disappear because of the Empress’ words but instead widened. Her eyelids fluttered as she softened her gaze and spoke sweetly.
"Now, dear brother-in-law, it’s wrong to say right in my face that you will kill my husband, right?"
Liviera’s eyes went red. "How did you get in here without alerting the guards?" It was amazing that despite the seething anger, the empress really could force himself to calm down and ask a question normally.
Princess Noreen laughed and chuckled. "I’m a princess of the royal family, I once lived here." It was a simple answer, but enough. In fact, it was also the most obvious answer.
"You’re a traitor. You’re a disgrace to the royal family, Noreen," Liviera calmly said, but with how heavy his words were, it only showed his whole disgust.
This time, the smile on Princess Noreen’s twitched slightly, and that conflicted emotion quickly flashed in her eyes, but it soon disappeared as if it were never there.
Instead of answering Liviera, the princess’s gaze soon shifted to Arren’s location, who was already pale and silent in his seat.
Her eyes sparkled. "You’re truly lovely, Arren. Spade is surely lucky to have you." She said it sweetly, with even a hint of proudness as she mentioned Spade’s name.
However, considering her purpose for coming here secretly, it was truly ironic.
Arren was not happy with this compliment in the slightest. His heart continued to throb, and almost all the worst-case scenarios played in his head, At some point a wave of fear crept within him, which made him particularly dizzy.
It seemed that after Princess Noreen mentioned Arren again, the empress remembered that he was also there. Instantly, as he shifted his gaze at Arren, a realization struck him that he had instantly rushed without thinking, not towards Noreen but in front of Arren. His body, though it looked extremely weak, stood before Arren, seemingly protecting him.
His hands were now trembling; it was different from the kind of self-destroying anger he usually felt earlier, but from a new fear that even surpassed his former emotions.
"What do you want?" He solemnly asked.
Arren couldn’t see the Empress’ expression, but even if the Empress was standing in front of him, it didn’t obstruct most of his vision to see the expression of the Princess.
The princess laughed. "By protecting him, don’t you already know my dear brother-in-law?"
This time, even without looking at the empress’ expression, Arren could feel his distraught emotions. The Empress’s body shuddered, and he firmly stood in front of Arren. He even stepped back and moved closer to Arren’s seat.
"Is it not enough?" Empress lIviera’s voice was now also trembling, low before his voice became louder. "Is killing my husband not enough for you? You made my life miserable by taking him from me! And now... You also want to ruin my son’s? Noreen! I won’t let you. My son won’t feel what I suffered for years."
Arren’s eyes heated up; he could feel the firm resolve the empress had as he protected him.
"Your Majesty!" his attendant called him and was about to attend to him but was also blocked by the men inside.
Princess Noreen stared at the empress. She didn’t say anything for a moment, and the smile on her lips had already disappeared. It was unknown what was on her mind.
However, the stalemate was broken by Duke Mephen.
"Your Highness, we need to leave as soon as possible. The palace is too heavily guarded this time. Sooner or later, the guards will start patrolling inside," Duke Merphen reminded the Princess.
The battle in the Ford Domain was starting, and everyone knew that it would be their defeat. Fighting the empire within its turf when its preparations were not complete could only lead to failure.
In the first place, the Marquis didn’t plan to keep the territory for long either. Although he planned to delay the empire’s use of the war in the territory for a few more weeks or, if lucky, a few months, a situation more desirable to him had arrived.
The decisive battle was a conspiracy they made to lure the tiger out of the palace. Between sacrificing the Ford Domain and getting his hands on Arren, there was no need to think about what the Marquis would choose.
This opportunity was too rare; they had to succeed. If they fail again, don’t ever think of succeeding in the future.
The princess seemed to wake up from her daze; she stared deeply at Duke Merphen and then nodded.
"I’m aware. My husband’s plan, I’ll surely accomplish it. There’s no need to remind me." Although her voice was still sweet and gentle, there was now a touch of indifference to it.
Arren clenched his teeth. What should he do? They need to alert the guards outside! How to do that? This was the deepest part of the palace, and screaming wouldn’t help either.
She then looked at the men and signaled. Soon, they complied and moved towards Arren. Their action immediately angered the empress.
"Don’t come near us! Don’t!" he screamed, but there was no way this would really stop the men.
Arren’s mind spun on what to do. He needed to alert the guards. And so, he also needed chaos. But how to do that? Despite the men that were already almost at his face, they were being delayed by the empress, but it was only a small delay after all.
He was nervous. More than that, he was scared. The memories of what he saw from that session replayed in his mind. Could it be that it was indeed his fate?
Spade... He muttered inside.
But he didn’t only hope for a miracle; he had to do something. Arren looked at the empress, who was desperately using his body to shield Arren. This annoyed the men, but they seemed ordered not to hurt the empress, but they were being pressed for time.
Arren stood, and as he did that, the men were already there. The princess and Duke Merphen looked at him, as though waiting to see what he would do. In fact, he also had no clue; he didn’t stare at them for long; his eyes roamed until they landed on the table.
The amount of sound that shattering a small glass produced was almost negligible, even in a closed space. But as he looked at the windows and the glass on them, An idea struck him.
No, he didn’t even think too much; there was no time for it, and he decidedly did what was on his mind. The men didn’t manage to stop him in time.
Arren picked up a glass and then threw it in the balcony window. The glass hitting the window resounded. Fortunately, the balcony window wasn’t open, and the part he hit was the most fragile part.
With several alarmed curses from the men and the Duke’s angry shout, Arren was seized, but the sounds of the window shattering reverberated throughout the room, and it was also so eye-catchingly loud.
In a matter of time, the guards would arrive; until then, they had to persist.
