Chapter 279: Conversation with Mikael

Mikael and I just laid there for a few hours, recovering at least enough to walk and return to the world again. He didn’t react much, and neither did I.

We just laid there, patiently waiting as we regenerated, although I recovered first since my regeneration is far superior to his.

And even after I recovered enough, I still laid on top of him, waiting until he also recovered enough to get up and walk.

We must have been in that position for almost 7 hours, not saying anything during that time, letting the silence be comfortable.

And now that we’re well enough, it’s time for us to part ways for now, since we have things to do.

"It seems our time together has come to an end, but I really enjoyed it," I say to him with a big smile. I really liked our time together.

This reminds me that I should give a special memento to Delphina as well. I’ve already given a special memento to Zephyra and now to Mikael, so I think Delphina would also love to have something just for her that’s not sex.

"Yeah, I gotta walk the world while it’s still intact," Mikael says with sarcasm, as if I’m gonna devastate the entire planet, but I decide not to dwell on that.

"Is there someone you want to face?" I ask him with doubt, a question that will indirectly give me the answer I’m looking for.

"... Probably a dragon that can take on a full draconic form," Mikael says, grabbing the Mesumari as it disappears.

’Dragons, huh...’ My experiences with them haven’t been the best, and I gotta say I didn’t find them that strong, but I’ve never really encountered one that was the pinnacle of the race.

So maybe a dragon that’s at the top, being the strongest dragon, could be a real problem to deal with.

"Well, I wish you luck in your search, Mikael. Know that you’re free to come to my castle anytime you want, though I won’t be there for now," I say, giving him permission to go there.

"Your castle, huh? Could be interesting."

"And don’t mess with my wife, she’s mine and only mine. If I find out you messed with my stuff, you’ll have trouble! And no sex for you unless it’s with me, got it?"

"If you betray me, I’ll make you regret taking that decision," I say to him threateningly. The way he is, I wouldn’t doubt that he could look for someone to sleep with.

In the end, he’s a man, and if he wants to do that, it can only be with me and no one else.

"I won’t betray you, don’t worry. I’m not interested in your wife either, though it’s pretty ironic that you’re demanding monogamy when you have multiple partners," Mikael says with a laugh.

"But I can have multiple partners, while you can’t, since you’re mine!" I don’t say this in an objectifying way, but in a more literal and deeper sense.

"I’ll give you a tip since we’re now, so to speak, married," Mikael says, as if our fight was the marriage, which isn’t exactly a lie, just a very unique marriage.

’Well...I’m a goddess, I think I’m qualified to prove my own marriage.’ Normally, there’s all that symbolic sense of the divine at the time of marriage, but since I’m a goddess, I think my own blessing is enough for my marriage.

"Go ahead, Mikael," I’m curious about what kind of tip he could give me that would help me.

"The Mesumari told me you want to know about the church, and said that Violet mentioned you want to know the unique abilities of the heroes. I can tell you the most likely place to find that information."

"Now that’s really useful. Where can I find it?" I ask with interest.

"With the Pope," He says simply.

"..."

"Mikael, is this a joke? Obviously it would be with the Pope, don’t make such bad jokes," I say to his poor response.

"No, you don’t understand. The Pope wouldn’t leave such things written down and stored; he would keep it all to himself. In other words, the Pope is the only one who can give you the answer you’re looking for."

"No matter how much you search the church, you won’t find any papers or similar things that contain this information. The only one who will know about it is the Pope. I’ve seen him personally, and he’s an eccentric and strange guy."

"I wouldn’t call him strong; you could kill him with one blow. But he’s a complete fanatical lunatic who you could torture in every possible way, and he wouldn’t say anything, claiming it’s a trial from your goddess."

"Honestly, his fanaticism for religion is disgusting. He keeps himself quite paranoid about everything he does, so he usually memorizes everything and then destroys the evidence."

"That way, there are no proofs, records, or papers, since everything is stored in his head for future use or rewriting." Mikael says without much interest.

"That’s all I can say. Don’t waste time looking for things that don’t exist. If you want that information, you’ll have to convince the Pope that you’re special to the Goddess he so reveres."

"It’s similar to me. He calls me ’friend’ and tries to bring me into the church, since he has that nonsense about me being blessed by the Goddess of Humans, which is a lie."

"All my power came from pure natural talent, and talent is not something the Goddess of Humans just decides to add to someone. I just happened to be talented and used that to my advantage," Mikael finishes, opening a purple door for us to exit.

’Interesting...’ Mikael is a very unique individual, rough and even impolite, although he knows how to use etiquette, he just doesn’t bother. And yet, the Pope treats him as a friend, simply because he is considered blessed.

’The system...’ If I prove that I’m blessed by the divine, without specifying which divine, I might be able to use that information to my advantage in some way.

"Thank you, Mikael, this really helps," Saves time, I would have wasted time looking for something that doesn’t exist.

"But don’t forget, Pandora, he’s extremely paranoid. He won’t just trust you with a single proof. Use this information well," Mikael says as we pass through the portal.

"Yes, I’ll use this information very well, Mikael, don’t worry," I’m a genius, I can come up with some way to deceive him without problems, maybe using the system and his notifications.

However, I’m not sure if I have the authority to do that, so I need more stable plans for it.

As Mikael says that he memorizes everything and then gets rid of the evidence, he must have some ability that helps with that, and that explains why he asked me to wait before going to the church.

’Maybe use his fanaticism?’ If I show myself to be as fanatical about the divine as he is, I might earn some points. As Mikael said that torturing him won’t work, kidnapping the Pope is useless.

I should use his paranoia and fanaticism so that I’m seen as someone blessed or chosen by the Goddess of Humans.

And the best card to play for that is sacred magic. My affinity for the sacred element is greater even than the Saint’s, so I should use my cards intelligently.

’So I have a week to come up with the perfect plan before going to the church.’ Probably my routine will become teaching at the academy and, in my free time, going to the church, similar to the Saint’s routine.

"I should use this week to learn sacred magic from the books." Honestly, I don’t like the sacred element that much, not because it’s bad, but because I prefer more destructive elements.

And the sacred element is more for general support than actual attack, so it’s not really what I’d like to learn. But since I’m going to learn spells from books instead of creating them, I think I can learn a lot of them in this short time frame.

"Mikael, come here," I say as Mikael approaches. I jump on him, putting my hands behind his neck and giving him a kiss.

"My goodbye kiss, we’ll see each other again, alright, my love?" I say with a smile.

"...If you die, I’ll be disappointed," He says simply, putting me down on the ground.

"Don’t worry, I won’t die for anything," So my death wouldn’t make him sad, just disappointed, but I can change that in the future.

"Now I have to go, Mikael. I’ll be at the academy; I need to take care of my other beloved before she decides to really get mad at me," It’s hard to balance romance, revenge, and personal growth.

My romances end up taking third place practically, but in the future, when everything is over, this problem will be solved.

"Okay, good luck with what you want to do, and I look forward to our next fight," Mikael says, walking in a random direction in the desert.

"Our next fight will be in bed!" I say to him as I start using the shadows to go to my room at the academy.

Although I have a bad feeling, I have great instincts, I can even say my instincts are supernatural compared to mortals.

’I feel like Grimm is doing some shit...what is that maniac doing behind my back?’ I really feel like Grimm is doing something behind my back.

And this isn’t the first time. Maybe I should be careful with strange things, or maybe I’m just being too sensitive, since now I know she just watches my life as if it’s an entertaining series.

She probably watched my fight against Mikael, enjoying everything that happened.

Without further reason to think about it, I appear in my room at the academy. I should prepare for tomorrow’s classes and give some affection to my cute shark girl, who must be quite needy.
