Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s-Chapter 1307: Unhappy, It’s Against Heaven’s Will!
Chapter 1307: Chapter 1307: Unhappy, It’s Against Heaven’s Will!
Yan Huan, who had remained silent by the side, finally spoke, "Cheng Yue, let’s break up. No, that’s not right, we’re not breaking up because we never held hands in the first place."
Hearing this, Cheng Yue was stunned for a few seconds, his throat moved as if he was about to speak, but no words came out.
This was, in a way, a tacit admission.
Yan Huan looked at his reaction, her lips struggling to curl into a smile before she forced a casual tone, "I’ve thought it over, and actually, we’re not suitable for each other. I’m older than you, and there really is a generation gap between us! My liking for you was just because I had been single for so long, it was just an impulse."
"Yan Huan... I’m sorry..." Cheng Yue said with difficulty, "This isn’t the outcome I wanted."
Yan Huan managed a slight smile, "There’s nothing to apologize for! Let’s just leave it at that! Remember, it’s I, Yan Huan, who doesn’t like you anymore!"
After saying this, Yan Huan grabbed Feng Yuzhi’s hand and strode away.
"Yan Huan!!!" Cheng Yue called out loudly.
Yan Huan stopped in her tracks but did not look back.
For a long while, Cheng Yue didn’t know what to say.
Without further hesitation, Yan Huan resumed her steps.
The afternoon sun seemed a little too glaring, hurting Yan Huan’s eyes.
Fluid slowly began to trickle out, sliding down to the corner of her mouth.
Feng Yuzhi turned her head to glance at her daughter, struggling for breath from the pain in her heart, "If you want to cry, just cry! You don’t need to put on a facade for your mother!"
Yan Huan fiercely wiped the tears from her face, then wrapped her arm around Feng Yuzhi’s neck with a smile, "Cry? It was just the sunlight dazzling my eyes! Comrade Feng, I have decided I’m going to stick with you for life, and not go anywhere else."
"Nonsense. What girl doesn’t marry!" Feng Yuzhi’s voice trembled as she looked at Yan Huan forcing a cheerful expression, "Young ones are unreliable; wait until I find you someone as old as your brother! Older men are more caring."
"I know. I’ll listen to you, Mom."
Feng Yuzhi paused for a moment before embracing her daughter tightly, "My daughter is so wonderful. It’s outrageous if she’s not happy!"
When Yan Huan got home, both Yan Luquan and Yan Ye could tell the outcome of the situation just by looking at her face.
Both tacitly chose not to bring it up again.
After dinner, Yan Huan took a solitary walk around the military compound.
Then she knocked on the Ning Family’s door.
An Hao opened the door, and without saying another word, Yan Huan grabbed her and walked out.
When they reached a secluded place, Yan Huan hugged An Hao and buried her head in her shoulder, crying her heart out.
The sudden outburst left An Hao completely bewildered.
"What happened?" An Hao finally asked when the sobs had subsided.
"To commemorate my dead love!" Yan Huan choked out.
"Then should we set up a monument for you?"
An Hao’s remark brought a smile to Yan Huan, "It’s my love that died, not Cheng Yue, why would we set up a monument?"
"Don’t be sad." An Hao said softly, embracing Yan Huan, "Many things are predestined. If Cheng Yue is meant for you, he won’t be able to escape, no matter what. If he’s not meant for you, then there’s no use in forcing it."
"Yeah!" Yan Huan nodded, "No matter if he’s mine or not, I just hope he has a good life."
She did not want him to be caught in a dilemma, so she made the decision for him!
She did not want him to feel any guilt in the future, so she gave up on him first!
