Strange Worlds-Chapter 224: Relax?
Chapter 224: Relax?
The night passed by quietly.
Some people couldn’t rest while some others had no problem at all to sleep and rest for the night. This matter had a larger impact than what many people could think of. The assassination of the few descendants of the big family’s patriarchs directly made some people uneasy.
If even these people could be assassinated, how about theirs or their children?
This made some people wonder if the failure of some missions in the past was caused by this so called accident and some people called out to ask for investigation.
The result?
The door to the Fourth Head of the Wansu City’s office was broken and many people kept coming. Until the very end, the Fourth Head of the Wansu City didn’t have any time to rest at all. He wanted to scold these people for coming to see him in the middle of the night but facing their concern, he could only swallow the complaints and do his work properly.
After all, it was not an exaggeration to say that there were indeed some faults here and the Fourth Head of the Wansu City couldn’t escape.
In the morning, Aya woke up refreshed. She looked at her arm and then sensed her mana. Most of her mana had recovered, so Aya poured them into her system and let only part of it as usual. Her rank on the surface was still in between late stage of rank 1 to early rank 2 and no one would suspect her hiding her mana.
Because the methods of hiding one’s mana from the crystal eyes hadn’t been found during this time.
Aya came out and saw Evan was already waiting for her.
"If you’re hungry, you can eat first," Aya said to Evan as she sat down.
"No, I’m also waiting for you," Evan replied and said, "Father is going out for a while because there are many people coming to see the Fourth Head last night. It seems that the impact of our incident is bigger than expected."
Because Evan is the future heir of the White Family, his father often told him various things related to the White Family and Wansu City. He hoped that his son could understand the current situation of Wansu City and if it was necessary, he could be prepared if something bad were to happen.
Listening to this, Aya arched her eyebrows. "It seems that there are many people who feel uneasy."
Wansu City hadn’t been built for long and there were already people questioning this matter. But for these people who had never experienced that period of chaos, Aya guessed that they thought living in the city was unsafe.
But if they were to stay outside for a long time without any home to go back to...
It was also very lonely.
"Indeed it is." Evan sighed. "But I do hope they can figure out who leaked the information."
After all, being targeted like that made Evan felt really uncomfortable too. He didn’t really want to experience it again.
"Yes." Aya agreed.
"Let’s eat first. I’m going to train again. Do you want to train with me?" Evan asked. He still felt annoyed about his weakness, so he wanted to spend more time practicing.
"No." Aya shook her head.
"Is it because of your hand?" Evan frowned when he thought about Aya’s hand and felt really apologetic about it. He felt that his weakness was what caused Aya to be the one standing at the forefront to protect them all.
This made him feel really uncomfortable.
"Of course not." Aya was amused and shook her head. "I can still train my physical strength as long as I don’t use my mana as per what Elder Yusi said. But I want to go out and relax for a bit today."
It has been a while since Aya took a break.
Since she was too busy training in the forest, she had basically spent her time ’locking herself in her room.’
Aya wanted to take a break.
Besides, she also wanted to see Silas again.
Seeing him advancing to rank 7, she became a bit more curious. Would he be able to detect her real strength or not. She hadn’t had the chance to test him because of the previous mission.
"Relax?" Evan repeated and nodded. "Okay, you should take a break after such a fierce battle."
Aya was already so strong and with her being injured, there was nothing wrong with Aya taking an appropriate break. Evan would not comment on this matter.
It was up to Aya whether she wanted to train or rest.
After eating, Evan went straight to the training hall. He himself would spend his time training and didn’t go out for a long period of time until his strength showed some improvements.
’Time to go out.’
Aya walked out of the White Family Residence and the guards didn’t stop her. Even though she had just experienced such a ’thrilling battle’ and was injured, there was no problem for her to walk around Wansu City. Of course, she would not be allowed to go further out.
Looking at the few people who were discussing whether to take missions or not, Aya blinked her eyes.
It seems that the credibility of the mission hall will be questioned fiercely during this period of time. If the Fourth Head of the Wansu City didn’t do anything to fix this matter, the reputation of the mission hall will continue to go down.
Not that Aya cared, though.
After looking in the direction of the mission hall a few more times, Aya made her way towards the Black Family Residence’s area.
She could see that there were many people walking around and it seemed that these magic warriors were not willing to take any missions for the time being. They should be waiting for the matter in the mission hall to be rectified.
Though, Aya doubted that it would be useful.
