Strange Worlds-Chapter 207: Mission
Chapter 207: Mission
These patriarchs were already told about the children’s mission.
Even if they were not very happy with this arrangement, but they still listened to the Fourth Head. Anyway, it was not like rank C was far above the children’s strength either.
Drap! Drap! Drap!
They soon gathered at the gate and saw Silas was already there. He smiled when he saw the children and showed a storage magic scroll in his hand. "This is our mission today. Are you ready?"
"Yes!"
"Let’s go. The carriage is there."
"We’re traveling with this slow carriage again," Leon complained but still entered the carriage obediently. In any case, they didn’t really have any other transportation.
"Have Josh and the others taken their missions?" Dean asked.
"I saw them leaving a few minutes ago," Aya replied. She came to the gate the earliest because she didn’t have to make any other adjustment. She had packed everything with her in her magic storage scrolls, so she went here directly.
While waiting, she saw Josh and his team departed.
"What’s their mission?" Dean asked again.
"I don’t know."
"It should be fighting, I asked him about that." Leon snorted. He met with Josh on his way back and the two quarrel a bit. "Don’t worry, I’m sure we’ll finish earlier than him."
"Yes."
Evan nodded.
Silas saw this and shook his head.
The missions that should have been a serious matter turned into nothing more than a competition between the children. Thankfully, their missions in the past years have been smooth sailing and they didn’t really meet any enemies far above their ranks. freēwēbηovel.c૦m
Their rank 3 magic spells have been practiced more, but they couldn’t really cast more than once in a battle without running out of mana.
So it would only be used as an emergency.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
The journey was not very smooth. They encountered a few magic beasts on their way that attacked them, so they had to fight back.
Thankfully, these were all only lower ranked magic beasts.
"Why did they attack us?" Evan asked in confusion.
He felt that they should have exuded some kind of strong aura?
Well, he was thinking too much.
"We should be considered a weak target," Yun replied. "Besides, we also entered their territory, so they didn’t want any outsiders to be here."
"Ah..." Evan nodded.
Leon panted on the side. He kept on using his shadow magic to restrain these magic beasts before they reached the team, making him the one with the highest consumption. Because of the side effect of using too much mana potion was not very good, Leon has been restraining himself and tried not to use it.
But he still felt really uncomfortable right now.
"Leon, use the mana potion," Silas said.
"But..."
"You’ve overdrawn in mana and if this continues, it might consume your lifeforce. You’re risking your life just to reduce the amount of mana potion you consume," SIlas said sternly.
Leon trembled and could only take out mana potion to drink it.
His father told him that he shouldn’t use his magic so much because of his limited mana. But without using his magic, it would be impossible for Leon to advance or improve.
This made him feel rather depressed.
In the past few weeks, the battle with Evan has always ended in Evan’s victory. Leon couldn’t accept this, so he trained even harder than before.
He will get even better than Evan!
"Don’t be too harsh on yourself. We can also use physical strength to stop these magic beasts," Dean said. He and Aya wanted to step forward a few times, but Leon’s stubborn expression made them halt in their footsteps.
They could see that Leon wanted to do it.
So they stayed in the back.
But now that Leon was reaching his limit, the two of them would have to take over this task.
"I know..." Leon pursed his lips.
"You’re better at control because of your magic, so you don’t have to be so fixated on one matter," Evan reminded.
Leon rolled his eyes and didn’t answer.
Silas shook his head and didn’t interfere. The children have their own conflicts and he didn’t want to interfere in it. After all, he was nothing more than their teacher who will guide them and would not be beside them for the rest of their lives.
It was up to them to fix their relationship with each other.
"Hmm?"
As they continued to travel in the carriage, they sensed faint magic fluctuation in the distance.
Magic would only fluctuate when it was casted in the form of magic spells or like what Aya used before, to use it along with one’s physical strength.
For them to sense magic fluctuation here, it could only mean that there’s a battle nearby.
Silas frowned.
"What is it, Teacher?"
"My friend is here," Silas said and was tempted to go and check. Because the mana fluctuation he felt belonged to Nisa and Nathan.
These two people were his former team members who had a good relationship with Silas and he couldn’t let them face danger on their own.
But at the same time, he’s doing a mission with his team members and couldn’t really leave these children.
Silas felt conflicted.
He could sense the battle was getting fiercer and the mana fluctuation belonging to Nathan was getting weaker. He might be in danger.
"Teacher, we’re not that weak." Dean saw Silas’s conflicted expression and took the initiative to say this. He knew that his teacher wanted to go and if he was worried about them, Silas might not make this decision.
"Yes, we can take care of ourselves!" Leon said stubbornly.
Yun’s lips twitched but said nothing.
She trusted her teammates and if they all decided to let Silas leave, then there was nothing that she could do either. She’s more of a support mage.
It was kind of helpless, but Yun didn’t have good battle instinct or anything like that.
She would rather stay at the back and help her teammates.
"Teacher, you can check quickly and then come back," Evan also said that.
