Starting from a Fake University-Chapter 115: Listing Speech (Must Watch) _1
Chapter 115: Listing Speech (Must Watch) _1
The book will be officially launched tomorrow around 12:30 noon. I’m very grateful for the support you’ve given me all along, and I hope you will continue to do so after the launch.
To be honest, the market situation this year has been quite unfavorable. For me, it’s been nothing but heartache.
Because in November last year, I used all the savings I had accumulated from several years of working and, together with some buddies, opened a hot pot shop. Initially, business was good and I thought I too would reach the pinnacle of success like many of you readers.
However, an unfortunate series of events occurred not long after we started the business. We lost so much it was as if we served in the National Army for 49 years only to lose everything. We couldn’t rent out the shop because of the sky-high rent, I felt suffocated under the pressure, and in the end, we went bankrupt, drowned in debt.
Even the girlfriend that I had been dating for three years broke up with me during this period.
Damn it!
When a man is down on his luck, does he even get his teeth stuck when trying to drink cold water?
I thought I had hit rock bottom in life.
But reality told me, you think that’s the end of it?
Not at all!
After the hot pot shop went under, I had to look for a job to survive. It was a tough time to find work, but opportunities always come around.
There was a period where street vending was very popular.
I always seize any opportunity that presents itself. As the weather got hotter, I joined the vending craze and started selling cold noodles, cold skin, mung bean jelly, chilled shrimp, and popsicles in the street. I worked from dawn to dusk, losing more than ten pounds from exhaustion.
The cold noodles and cold skin I sold were really tasty. It’s a pity I don’t sell them anymore; my handsome readers won’t be able to taste them.
I did make a bit of money from this venture and was starting to see light at the end of the tunnel.
But then a friend asked me for a loan. Being the kind-hearted soul that I am, I lent him the money without hesitation. Damn it, why are there such animals in the world who gamble away their borrowed money and then just disappear?!
I was truly dumbfounded at the time.
I felt like I couldn’t go on any longer, but I chose to stay strong. I told myself every day that there isn’t a hurdle I can’t get over. After adjusting for a while, I decided to go back to what I used to do – write novels (I had written for a couple of years before but didn’t do so well).
I have always enjoyed writing stories since middle school and high school. Back in high school, I would save my lunch money every week to go to internet cafes, where I clumsily typed away at the keyboard to create the stories I wanted to tell.
I was quite naïve during that period, not understanding the rules of online publishing. I found it hard to get my work contracted and couldn’t manage daily updates, so I usually spent my weekends at the internet café writing non-stop and then uploaded everything all at once.
I miss those days. I was so driven by passion and enthusiasm and didn’t care about the payback. I remember seeing a reader reward me with 100 Start Coins (unsigned work could still be rewarded at that time; I don’t know if you’ve experienced that). I got so excited I would jump up from my seat, and then the other patrons playing games in the cafe would look at me as if I were crazy.
I would use the money I saved to write more, and sometimes when I stepped out of the internet café and realized it was dark and I had run out of internet money, I would find it was raining heavily.
But I would happily walk back to school in the rain because the thought of my new updates keeping my readers entertained (how naïve of me, who would read the stuff I was writing then! And I only updated once a week! How stupid was that!) kept me going.
Let’s stop reminiscing for now; it only brings a bitter taste. Back to my story.
After my friend ran away with my money, I adjusted my state of mind and decided to go back to writing novels, which I truly enjoyed. I hoped I could also make a bit of money to cover my living expenses, and thus I started my first book under a pseudonym "Adorable Kid". When it came to publishing, the results were so poor that I received a major blow!
Finally.
I realized something. I’m just not good at anything, am I? Am I just the number one fool in the world?
No!
This isn’t me!
But one day, I happened to watch an old film called "College Entrance Examination" again. It’s a very inspiring movie, and I realized – the destiny of Nezha, no, my destiny, is to defy fate!
Then the movie "College Entrance Examination" gave me great inspiration!
Also, the college entrance examination was coming up when I was preparing to write the book, so this theme was very timely. Taking a cue from the film’s plotline of a failed college exam candidate starting a fake school, I decided to center my story on establishing a school, farming, fostering talent, developing technology, and glorifying our great Chinese civilization. I felt this story could work!
So, I started preparing actively, doing research. I remember one day I spent all night doing research until my eyes were sore.
Finally, I began writing "Fake University".
Luckily, heaven rewards the diligent!
Up until now, "Fake University" has done quite well, amassing over 40,000 collections. Even though there are reviewers who constantly nitpick and criticize as if they were operating a Gatling gun, when I check their profile, lo and behold, they’re reading pirated versions!
A lot of my author friends have noticed that these pirate readers not only read pirated versions, they also love to come to the legit platforms and stir up trouble. They wouldn’t stop until they make the authors explode with frustration. It’s infuriating!
Thanks to everything I’ve been through, I’ve grown a thick skin. Trolls, you can’t bring me down. Save your efforts!!!
Also, did you know, research shows...
For every freeloader who indulges in pirated books, the author suffers a bit more. Follow my mantra: No freeloaders, no harm!
Support legal copies! Starting with me!
When it comes to "Fake University", its journey to growth also has its share of bumps, just like my half a year’s ordeal.
Firstly, this book was initially submitted to Winnie, the super beautiful editor of the urban novels division, for contract signing.
But when I officially published this book, Winnie got promoted. I think she went from being a responsible editor to the chief editor. Congratulations to her.
But this meant I had to get a new editor for my book.
Indeed, the last editor to sign the book contract was Maple.
However, halfway through the book’s public period, Maple resigned!!!!!!!
I was shocked, my editor was gone again!
Luckily, Impostor University was ultimately not abandoned. It was welcome by its third girlfriend, my unbelievably beautiful, considerate, adorable and crush-worthy Little Miss Tiger Teeth!
Roar! Ferocious Tiger’s Roar!
After Little Miss Tiger Teeth took over the book, she got quite a few recommendations along the way, eventually landing it on Sanjiang and the best-seller list!
Impostor University is probably the only new book on Qidian that had the most editors before it got to the shelf, right????
I’d like to call it Qidian’s First Scumbag Book!!!!!!! Young (new book) and has already dated three Qidian editors!
But still, I’m very grateful to my editors, Vivi, Maple, and Tiger Teeth!

Okay, off to the bridal chamber!
Wait a moment, let’s not send Maple to the bridal chamber, throw her out, Erxiong does not swing that way~
Alright, back to the topic.
Let’s talk about our plan after the book gets on the shelves.
After VIP is open tomorrow at noon, I will drop 30,000 words at once!!!!!!! Every Chapter will have more words than before. The previous 2,000 words per Chapter was indeed too little. Two Chapters a day made only 4,000 words, even Erxiong thought it was too short and small! How could I satisfy you guys with that!!!!!!!
Therefore, after getting on the shelf, each Chapter will start at least with 3,000+ words!
So I beg you to please support the authentic work, support Principal Ding Yue in striving to build a world-renowned school!!!!!!!
Now do you understand the meaning of the protagonist’s name????(Insane foreshadowing!)
Also, I hope readers from QQ browser and QQ reading can come to Qidian to support the initial orders. The performance of the initial orders is really crucial, please, I beg you!!!!
After the book gets on the shelves, the base update will be 10,000 words per day. If the subscription is good, then it will be 15,000 words per day. If the subscription is explosive, then we will keep up with Laoying, updating 20,000+ words each day.
Next, let’s talk about the extra updates plan.
If we get a tip, each leader can add 10 more updates!!!
Yes!
You read it right!
Just one leader, and I, Erxiong will work tirelessly to churn out 10 more updates for you!!
I wouldn’t even dare to think about the Silver League, but according to the rule of 10 more updates per leader, that means the Silver League could add 100 more updates!!!
If there really is a Silver League, Erxiong will directly lock himself in a small dark room and won’t eat until he finishes coding!!!
The Golden League adds 1000 more updates!!!
Then there are extra updates for monthly tickets, for each additional 500 tickets we get, we will add 1 more update!
As for the average, 3,000 readers is the passing mark. For every additional 200 readers, we will add 1 more update!
With more than 40,000 people bookmarking, could it be that we don’t even have 3,000 subscribers?
If one out of every 14 people could support with a subscription, then we would reach our goal.
Is there not one person among 14 who is bigger and stronger than Erxiong? 0.0
So please, I beg you to support with a subscription, even if it’s just for the initial order. Anyone who supports with a subscription, starting from tomorrow will be prosperous, lucky, rich overnight, and able to stay up seven times at night!
If it doesn’t come true, come find me.
Last but not least, I beg you for subscriptions!!! I beg you for subscriptions!!! I beg you for subscriptions!!!
Almost forgot, I also have a reader group.
Erxiong once said that once the book gets on the shelf, he will create a VIP reader group.
The group number is —— 261348018
261348018, don’t lose it.
Since it’s a VIP group, we welcome all handsome authentic subscribers to come in and flirt with the girls. You might need to verify with a screenshot of your full subscription to enter the group...
[Before the shelves little story] ——
On a desolate night, the cold wind howled, and suddenly a heavy rain fell. Erxiong, dressed in rags, curled up in the corner of the street, his stomach grumbling non-stop. He knew that if he didn’t get food soon, he would die of starvation. Finally, he bit his pale lips and took out his battered little bowl for the last time, using his last bit of strength to yell, "My dear reader brothers and sisters, husbands and wives, dads and moms, grandpas and grandmas, I beg for initial orders!!! I beg for subscriptions!!!"
