Rewriting My Fate in the Apocalypse-Chapter 62: Lu Tao’s Decision
Chapter 62: Chapter 62: Lu Tao’s Decision
"Mmm...let them be. Before we have absolute power and the ability to protect ourselves, it’s better not to expose our superpowers.
No one can predict the future and it’s obvious that this is not some virus that can be eliminated or controlled.
Soon, the government will also cease to exist as a central power. We have to learn to protect ourselves." Lu Zhen replied as he took his wife’s hand and caressed it.
He said this for the benefit of his family. Leng Pan already knew about this but his family was unaware. Therefore, he had to raise their vigilance so that they don’t make the mistake of exposing themselves or be tempted to brag about his and Leng Pan’s abilities to others.
"The two of you are right. It’s better to keep a low-profile and not attract unnecessary attention. Lu Tao, listen to your brother and sister-in-law. Don’t go around telling people about your super hearing or super vision.
It might not only bring danger to you, but also to your brother and sister-in-law." Li Yunjia advised her younger son after hearing what her eldest son and daughter-in-law said.
She had not thought much about their abilities before, but now, she became worried about potentially getting targeted for their abilities.
She wouldn’t know what to do if that happened.
"I know Mom, I am not a child and can understand that what is happening is not an ordinary situation. So, I won’t be careless." Lu Tao promised his mother so as to alleviate her worries.
He had already realized that the situation is not as simple as a virus outbreak. The world is ending and the saying ’every man for himself’ is what will be implemented from now on.
So, after talking to his brother yesterday, he had decided to also work hard so that he had the ability to protect his family. Or at least, he didn’t want to drag his brother and sister-in-law down.
Last night’s hard work was not entirely because his brother had provoked him, but also because he wanted to become stronger.
Even though his superpower wasn’t as awesome as his brother who could unleash an inferno out of nothing, or his sister-in-law’s who could create a tsunami, he could at least assist them.
Having the ability to surveille the enemy without their knowledge can be an advantage. He wanted to be that advantage for his family. Thus, he wouldn’t want anyone outside of their family to know about his ability.
After watching the news for another thirty minutes, Lu Zhen and Leng Pan left and went back to their apartment. fгeewёbnoѵel.cσm
They still had to practice controlling and using their superpowers. Lu Zhen wanted to immediately do something to his wife after finding out that his brother could no longer hear their activities, but he also knew that some other important things needed priority right now.
Becoming stronger would ensure that he could be with his wife for a long time without the threat of someone separating them. Thus, he held back his urges and just kissed her before going to the bathroom like yesterday.
At the end of yesterday’s practice, he could create a bigger fire ball and had started to change its shape and create a dagger, but it was still challenging and used too much energy.
He wanted to practice more and understand his superpower. That way, he could limit the energy used with every action to the minimum and also create anything he wanted with a simple thought without too much strain.
Leng Pan had told him about his superpower before and how he could create a sea of fire effortlessly and burn thousands of zombies in one go.
Therefore, he knew that his potential was much higher and could be explored further.
He thought that creating a sea of fire was impressive, but it used excessive energy. That was probably the reason he had died while protecting Leng Pan. There were too many zombies and he managed to kill most of them with such a method but after a few uses, he couldn’t sustain the consumption of superpower and ended up exposing himself.
Now, he was thinking that he could come up with a different way of using his ability to kill thousands of zombies in one go without using too much spiritual energy.
If instead of a sea of fire, he could make fire needles that have the ability to penetrate the skull of zombies and burn their brain, then he wouldn’t need to burn their entire body.
The energy used for one needle would be negligible. Creating thousands of needles might take some energy, but with practice, it would be manageable while preserving a significant amount of energy.
In this way, when his strength increases and his level advances, he could fight more zombies or even humans without fear and also protect his family.
He had vowed to himself that in this life, he won’t lose his family because of incompetence and Leng Pan won’t have to watch him die because he didn’t have enough power to resist. Therefore, he took practicing the use of his ability very seriously.
Just like yesterday, Leng Pan walked into the bathroom with two bottles of spiritual spring water and placed them on the table next to the sink before leaving. She didn’t want to disturb her husband.
After leaving the master bedroom, she headed to the guestroom like before to practice her water ability. The previous evening she had absorbed a bathtub of water and hadn’t tested what changes it might have on her superpower.
Now that there was a chance, she wanted to know if her bold idea had any effect.
Hence, as soon as she walked into the bathroom, she went to the bathtub and started to produce water from her palms, letting it trickle into the bathtub.
She hoped that with the ability to absorb water, it would allow her to produce more when needed as the use of her ability in any way required a sufficient amount of water energy.
Thus, if absorbing water, even though painful, could help in making more when in need, she would not hesitate to absorb several bathtubs of water every day.
As water poured into the bathtub, she noticed that it had passed the three liters she had been producing yesterday and her hands were still going on.
Moreover, she wasn’t tired yet.
