...Rihanna and Brandon stood motionless for a long moment, the air between them charged like a brewing storm.

The ground beneath them cracked, unable to withstand the weight of their presence.

Brandon's blue elemental energy surged like crashing waves, twisting and bending the moisture in the air. Water whips coiled and lashed around him, waiting to strike.

Meanwhile, Rihanna's spiritual energy, a soft pink hue, radiated around her body like a gentle mist—but there was nothing gentle about her. She was a force of nature, a boar that had trampled through the most savage seas, a woman feared even among pirates.

Then—

They moved.

A single instant stretched into eternity as their figures blurred, and then—

BOOM!

The earth shattered beneath their feet as they clashed mid-air, the impact sending shockwaves rippling across the battlefield.

Brandon twisted his body, bending the water from the sea breeze into long, razor-sharp whips.

"You're too slow, beast!" he sneered as he lashed out, his attack cutting through the air like a blade.

Rihanna, unfazed, stamped her foot down, sending a shockwave through the ground as she charged forward.

With a powerful swipe of her arm, the very air around her exploded, repelling his attack.

"And you're too soft, noble brat," she growled, her tusks glinting in the light.

She swung her massive bronze-rank axe, a treasure of the Zodiac Families, its edge humming with a deep, resonant energy.

Brandon took note of the weapon on her hands. Any weapon used by a cultivstor was a threat ad one could potentially infuse their energy into it.

However, a Treasure weapon was even more dangerous, even though it was of bronze rank.

Brandon knew that he had to watch out for attacks that came from this axe.

Brandon dodged nimbly, twisting his body in ways unnatural to human flexibility, his Elemental Energy bending the moisture in the air, making his movements fluid as water itself.

He countered with a swift motion—his whips coiled around her arms, attempting to bind her.

Rihanna thought Brandon's fighting style to be very impressive, after all, he was not like most from the holy church. Finding a teacher that dealt in elemental energy willing to teach one of 'faith' like Brandon would definitely not have been easy or cheap.

Also, he was from the branch family. While many of their heirs got the best education, no doubt, Brandon's was like.

She could feel it clear as day in his fighting style.

But Rihanna only grinned.

With a mighty heave, she yanked him forward, dragging him like a ragdoll through the air.

"Got you."

With a single punch, she drove her fist into his gut.

BOOM!

Brandon was sent flying, his body crashing through two buildings before he twisted mid-air and landed gracefully on his feet, barely fazed.

But Rihanna's eyes narrowed.

Even though she had hit him cleanly, he had taken almost no damage.

And then—she understood.

The air was thick with moisture.

The environment was his ally. fɾeewebnoveℓ.co๓

Unlike Spiritual Energy, which drew power from the soul, Elemental Energy was borrowed from nature itself.

And right now, this was an island on the sea.

This was Brandon's battlefield.

"Tch… Annoying." Rihanna muttered, wiping blood from the corner of her lips.

Brandon smirked. "What's wrong, beast? You're stronger, aren't you? Why are you losing?"

Rihanna exhaled deeply.

She had fought countless pirates, warlords, and hunters, but this… This was different.

Brandon was not just a talent.

He was a cheat.

And worse—

"You're a coward."

Brandon's grin widened. "Coward? No, Trash... I just understand the battlefield. Something you

maggots never learned."

At that moment, a sharp cry pierced the air.

A young boy, no older than seven, stood frozen in the middle of the road, his tiny hands covering his ears, his body shaking in fear.

Rihanna's eyes widened.

Brandon's attack was rushing toward the boy.

And he was not stopping it.

"Damn it!"

She moved.

Faster than thought—

CRACK!

Brandon's whip of water struck her square in the side, sending her crashing through rubble, her armor dented, flesh searing from the force.

But—

The boy was safe.

And Brandon just… laughed.

"I see now," he said, his eyes gleaming with cruel amusement.

"You're soft."

Rihanna gritted her teeth, pulling herself out of the wreckage, blood dripping from her lips.

"Is the holy church so petty that it now attacks defenseless children?"

"How dare a disgusting boar maggot like you propose to know what the great holy church is all about."

Brandon raised his hands, water gathering into shimmering spears.

And then—

He attacked.

Not at her—

At the people.

A mother clutching her child.

An old man limping for safety.

A teenager trying to help his wounded friend.

Rihanna's eyes flashed with fury.

She rushed to stop the attacks, but—

Brandon was too fast, too relentless.

Each time she moved to save someone, he struck her.

Again. And again. And again.

His attacks were wild and merciless, but she could not retaliate.

Because she was protecting the weak.

And Brandon?

He was using them as shields.

A deep, growling voice suddenly rumbled through the battlefield, like stone grinding against stone.

"HERETIC! How dare you stain this island of the Bearded God?"

The moment those words echoed, the air itself seemed to tremble.

And then—

A shadow loomed overhead.

A massive structure descended from the heavens, falling like a divine judgment.

BOOM!

The ground shook violently as a colossal boulder-like statue crashed down, slamming directly onto Brandon.

Dust and debris erupted into the sky, the sheer force of the impact splitting the ground apart.

But this was no ordinary stone—

It was the very statue of Magnus that had been paraded through the streets only moments ago.

Except now, it was many times larger, as if it had grown to reflect the wrath of the Sea God himself.

And the one who had brought down this calamity upon Brandon—

Was none other than the Chief Priest who had led the procession...
