Pokémon: Chronicles of Freedom-Chapter 568 - 567: What to Do If You Have No Money to Buy Food?
Chapter 568 - 567: What to Do If You Have No Money to Buy Food?
In the meadow outside the forest, Altaria was basking in the sun with her two offspring.
Surprised, Altaria glanced toward the Scolipede forest, where the sounds of battle could be heard from within.
There had just been a brief pause—how had the fighting started again?
...
By dusk, Cain emerged from the forest with his Drapion and the rest of his team, having concluded the battle.
In the end, Cain didn't completely wipe out the entire Scolipede tribe.
The remaining high-level Scolipede had banded together to defend themselves.
However, by then, most of the tribe had already been annihilated.
But thanks to the Scolipede's ability to reproduce, their numbers would recover in a year or two.
Although, the combat strength of the tribe as a whole would be nowhere near what it once was.
Regarding top-tier fighters, aside from the Scolipede leader defeated by Altaria, there weren't many losses.
Now, walking through the Scolipede forest, Cain felt as if he were strolling through his own backyard, with no pressure at all.
After losing their leader and their overwhelming numbers, Cain no longer had to worry about them.
It was like walking down a peaceful street at dawn, with no urgency whatsoever.
Cain wasn't in a hurry to cross the Scolipede's territory and continued to make his way slowly toward the interior of Mythical Island.
He had only traveled a short distance and had already encountered such powerful Pokémon, making him wonder what else lay ahead deeper inside.
The duration of this mission was fifteen days, and only two had passed, so there was no need to rush.
When he returned to Altaria's meadow, Cain began preparing dinner again.
By now, the two Swablu were very accustomed to playing with Cain's five little companions, and after playing, they enjoyed the delicious food he prepared.
Today, in addition to grilled meat, Cain also prepared some Pokéblocks for the Swablu. Although they were the most common type, both Swablu ate them with great delight.
As for Altaria, Cain left her a generous portion as well.
Today, Altaria wasn't as haughty as the day before. When Cain placed the food in front of her, she stopped pretending to be indifferent and started eating the grilled meat.
However, compared to the Swablu, Altaria ate in a much more elegant manner, without getting any grease on herself at all. But despite her refined demeanor, her eating speed was nothing to scoff at.
After the grilled meat, Cain placed a Pokéblock in front of Altaria.
Altaria hesitated for a moment but decided to give it a try. Once she did, she couldn't stop. freeweɓnovel.cøm
This time, Cain didn't walk away after placing the Pokéblocks. Instead, he sat quietly beside Altaria, watching her eat each of the Pokéblocks and then let out a small burp of satisfaction.
It could be said that, after living so many years on Mythical Island, since yesterday, Altaria had been trying things she had never eaten before.
Including today's Pokéblocks, which were not only delicious but also provided her with a bit of energy she could clearly feel.
So, when Cain sat beside her, she showed no sign of rejection.
Mostly because... now that Cain wasn't wearing his mask, well, yes, his appearance wasn't bad.
It just remained to be seen if Altaria's aesthetic standards were similar to those of humans.
After her little burp, Altaria felt unsatisfied and glanced at Cain.
Seeing Altaria's gaze, Cain smiled softly, shook his head, and reluctantly pulled out another bag of Pokéblocks, pouring the entire contents into the bowl in front of Altaria.
"He knows how to please me," Altaria nodded in satisfaction.
And she resumed enjoying the delicious meal.
Originally, Altaria thought about whether she should stop, wondering what would happen if the food ran out. But as she ate, without realizing it, she had finished again.
Feeling a bit frustrated, she glanced at Cain, thinking that he surely would have more next time.
She stretched lazily.
Today had been a good day. Aside from the noise in the forest during the day, everything else was perfect.
Seeing that Altaria had finished eating, Cain didn't say much more. He brushed off the grass from his clothes and slowly returned to his shelter.
Then, he began training with his Pokémon again.
Drapion had completed its evolution, and its strength had increased significantly.
Although the change wasn't as drastic as Gengar's, who had to familiarize himself with his new body after evolving, Drapion couldn't achieve the same level of control over his body as he had as a Skorupi.
Regaining that dexterity would take a considerable amount of training.
Training each joint of his body to move at will wouldn't be an easy or quick task.
Today, Altaria didn't take her two offspring to play as usual.
Instead, she silently observed as Cain trained Honchkrow and the others.
Midway through the training, Altaria suddenly flew straight toward Honchkrow.
Cain, surprised, didn't know what she intended.
Altaria flew toward Honchkrow without slowing down, even accelerating.
Honchkrow, seeing Altaria flying toward him as if to attack, prepared to defend himself.
Slowking and the others, seeing Altaria seemingly attacking Honchkrow, were about to counterattack.
But Cain raised his hand to stop them.
The fierce attack Cain had expected from Altaria never happened.
Instead, the two Pokémon intertwined in the air.
Cain, watching the interaction between Altaria and Honchkrow, gradually understood what was happening.
"Altaria is teaching Honchkrow how to use Flying-type moves and master aerial combat!"
Cain observed how, although it seemed like Altaria was attacking Honchkrow, she was actually correcting some of his habits and flaws.
Although Cain had trained Honchkrow quite well, there were certain things that couldn't be noticed just by watching. Only an expert in Flying-type energy like Altaria could point out those details.
Of course, even if Altaria didn't do this, Honchkrow would eventually realize them himself. But it would take a long time and might even require losing a battle to recognize his weaknesses.
Although Altaria didn't teach Honchkrow any new moves, she helped reinforce his fundamentals.
"These two meals didn't go to waste," Cain thought, nodding to himself.
This kind of direct guidance was already a big gain for Cain.
When Honchkrow, exhausted, finally landed, Altaria casually returned to her shelter.
Before leaving, she glanced at Cain, as if to say: "The food's paid for."
Honchkrow, on the other hand, was deep in thought, clearly reflecting on the lessons from the training.
