Perfect Avatar-Chapter 312: The Last Avatar
Chapter 312: The Last Avatar
Giudecca and Lucca froze on spot. They looked at Rhea like a mad woman, the cold sensation in their legs spread above.
"Rhea... What the fuck?"
"Sister Rhea, what the hell?"
Rhea took her sword, still in its scabbard and it the ground with the tip.
"Enough already with the chitchat and crying. We have already talked about it together, the true Origin knows the world better than any of us, he said that he will not sacrifice, but find a solution. You don’t need more to stop whining, same for you, Ambrosia’s warriors."
The Pseudo-avatars flinched at her words, it was like an invisible aura spread around her, worrying them and causing some PTSD to Dora.
"Are you that blind and weak-minded? Everyone who had died was in the same place, why don’t you believe that he will indeed rebuild the world for you? I’m getting tired of waiting, Sloth, Dora, let’s finish this now."
She took off her sword from her scabbard, examining the lame, with everyone’s gaze on her.
Candace, troubled looked at her then at Dora, the boy answering with a nervous laugh.
"... Well... Feel better now? But she’s right, it’s only temporary, we’ll be back soon."
Candace’s hands lost their strength, her lips danced, then she gave him a headbutt to his cracked head
"Ouch... M...my good half..."
"You idiot! Stupid! Stupid! Stupid!"
She gave him a beating to the shoulders, but she laughed, she laughed with joy and relief.
Everyone was watching the scene of the 3 last Avatars planning their end, it was both dramatic and surreal.
Candace sat on the ground, at long last, her latest desire was about to be granted.
"Ah... Well... Now I’m invested in your plan. I believe in you for the rest."
"... You really are the Sloth Avatar."
"Oh, come on, I did a lot, and you’re not better."
She smiled at him, then her gaze fell on the Pseudo-avatars broken on the spot.
To her, it was an escape, to them, it was hell.
"I would have liked to do things differently, but... Can I be selfish just this time? I’m really tired of all of this."
She laughed lightly, it was a genuine warm laugh, something that had become rare for her.
They watched her happiness, Rhea’s annoyed face, Lucca’s and Giudecca’s complaints, and Dora’s patience.
"... Sin Avatars are really something else." Iris, through her tears, smiled.
She sat down in front of Candace, rubbing her arm, the dean smiling back at her.
"Well, I’m glad to see you smile like that... I haven’t seen you so relaxed since... In ages."
"Woah, I had my moments of joy, it’s just that sometimes, you need a real break."
"A break huh?... Hm... Well... Enjoy it then... After all... Dora, you will create a world where... Where we’ll be..."
She brought a hand to her mouth, unable to contain her explosion of tears.
Barely covering her sobs, her head lowered. Candace kneeled to hug her, rubbing her back.
"It’s ok, everything will be ok. I’m sorry for being such a coward, but I’m glad to have met you."
She opened her eyes, staring with melancholy at her blue hair.
"I’ve never suffered more than when I had to accept Ely’s death, so, thank you for staying alive, until my death. I’m honored to have been your mentor."
They remained like that for seconds, then, a spark illuminated Candace’s eyes.
"... One left... Of course... Iris..."
She grabbed her by the shoulders, looking at her face.
"I just realized, there was something the other Dora asked me to do. I couldn’t understand before but... Now, I think I know."
She turned to Dora for his approval, and when he smiled at her, she understood that she perfectly nailed it.
"You’re just like Elizabeth, your soul is so pure, you shine with no color, like her... Maybe you’re perfect to take a part of my soul, and maybe with you the result will be different."
She brought a hand to her chest, eyes closed.
Her energy channeled from her heart converged into a warm ball of energy, compressing, releasing warmth.
She opened her hands, displaying a white soul stone.
"When I look at you, I remember Ely. You shine just as much as she did, so I feel like you’re compatible. I don’t know if it’s a compliment to receive Sloth’s blessing, but I know that you need to stop being human to survive. I am a useless coward who did nothing with my blessing, but I trust you, you will surpass me easily."
Iris held the stone of wonder. She looked at the dean’s smile again, with her eyes filling with tears.
"... Dean."
"I’m leaving everything on you, ok? Maybe I’m our next world I’ll be the Avatar of diligence?"
"As you wish." Dora nodded firmly.
"Joke, I was joking! I deserve a true heaven now!"
She stood up, patting the dust from her knees. Crossing her arms, she turned her back to her students.
"Everyone, I’ve lost faith in my kind, but you showed that even a Sin could make a good decision. Freya, I admire you. I’ve never considered you as a student, but as someone I’m trying to reach. Keep being such a great leader."
Freya’s eyes let go of some tears, she forced a smile and nodded.
"Mercy, you are strong, your strength was something different than anyone else. You are so beautiful and powerful. Don’t let your anger destroy everything you are."
Mercy sobbed, she tried her best to not make more noise, and like Freya did, she nodded.
"Solaria, I really don’t deserve it, but... Sorry. I was such an idiot. You shouldn’t need my approval for anything, I should turn around the world to be as strong as you. I’ll see your mother, father, and, brother, and I’ll tell your mother how you cried for her. But whatever happens, you have friends, and they won’t leave you alone. Please, forgive them."
Solaria lowered her head, with a small noise, she answered.
"And now... The others... Meh, imagine something, I hate most of you, you hear, Agharita? I want to sleep now."
She laughed proudly, Agharita farther behind watched her master and couldn’t help but smile a bit.
She stood in front of Dora, hands on her hips.
"Ok, I’m ready. Send me to that world now, she thinks she can forget me and get away with it?"
Dora, smiling at her, scratched his head.
"You know I can’t kill you."
"You hate me that much? Hmph, just give me a weapon, I’ll help you."
She smiled, satisfied, so happy to finally die that it was almost unbearable to witness.
There was no turning back, they knew it, they felt it.
At the end of that day, if they could stay alive, a new world would birth, a world without Sin Avatars.
Rhea put the blade of her sword against her neck, her people trembled, teary eyes, trying to reach her with an unmoving hand.
"I told you it’s temporary, quit whining. If you want to cry, cry for yourself, the hardest part is coming, and you won’t be able to hide behind us. The creation of a new world is on you."
"I trust them, I’ll be there too, they’ll have some form of support."
"Oh, and how do you want them to learn to fight? Stop babysitting them."
"I’ve fought you, I know what your power is capable of, I will help them."
They exchanged a gaze, smiling at each other.
"Now at least we know who should be the eldest. Keep that in mind for the next world."
She turned her gaze to Lucca and Giudecca.
"I trust you as much as my sword, without Eva and I, there’s no leader. I want you to be my hands and will and keep ruling our land with an iron heart. Don’t disappoint me. Until our return, make sure that Fenrir doesn’t fall."
The two girls’ tears dropped, holding their sobs, they nodded.
"Good, you are my pride. Good luck to the rest of you all."
Her sword shone and slipped in the air.
Everyone’s eyes were wide, some hiding their faces.
Rhea’s sword stopped in the air, with the blade covered in her blood.
Her blood ran down, spreading on the ground, forming a small pool of blood.
She had sectioned her artery, but the blood spilled gently, following the curves of her body.
Lucca fell on her knees, Giudecca was petrified, Freya’s mind filled with void.
"... Here, your turn."
She hopped her sword to Candace swiftly. She stood on her feet as if she wasn’t suffering a fatal injury.
She looked around the room and when she located the corridor Zury came through, she began her walk.
"What are you all looking at? Don’t you have better things to do? If you’re not concerned by the sequel, leave already."
She passed through the Nymphs, Ambrosia’s warriors, the knights. When she passed next to Freya, she murmured words.
"... You have won a part of me, don’t make a joke of that power."
She walked, through the ruins toward the corridor.
Not once did she slow down or look behind, behind her, no one phrased a word, all were speechless in front of the phenomenon, a dragon looking for a place to rest, far from the eyes.
She was Pride and no one should watch her fall.
"Whenever you’re ready, brother, I’ll be done soon."
She entered the dark corridor, disappearing in its shadow.
The moment the general disappeared, Lucca screamed her name.
Dora observed the corridor, raising his eyebrows, a smile on his lips, he lowered his head.
"Ah, if none of us kill each other, it should be a draw. I guess we’ll just be the same age... In that new world."
"I’ll assert dominance either way!" Rhea’s voice made him jump.
"... What the hell is that hearing?! I murmured..."
They stared at the corridor for seconds, in silence in respect for the impact of the General on them.
Rhea had no regeneration, nor healing, her skin was unpenetrable, except for her.
She died because she decided to die.
Some almost felt the urge to go and heal her, just because, but they knew that even asleep she could destroy anyone and it would be their fate.
Candace looked at the bloody sword, it was that easy to die.
She looked at her students, all focused at first on the corridor, then, as they noticed her gaze, they gave her a defeated face.
She smiled at them, then held Dora by the hand.
"Let’s do that somewhere else too, I’m not strong enough to die alone, but I don’t want them to see you do it."
She led the way, Dora following her steps.
They passed by her students, each downing their head on her path.
No word was spoken, no gaze met her eyes. She had already made her decision, and no one would stop her.
They looked for a last chance to see those eyes, but when they got a glimpse of her face they bowed their head to cry.
She smiled, she was relieved. Holding the sword like her most precious gift, she walked so fast that the boy behind her had to speed up.
Only her closest students kept their heads high to see her while she was at her peak.
She looked like a young girl heading to her first date, with the knowledge that it would be her last.
In the shadow of the corridor, she disappeared with Dora.
Left in the room, they finally let their voice run free, crying loudly, dropping to the ground.
It was a moment shared by everyone, a mourning from two countries.
Fenrir and Ambrosia, all shared the song of the tears.
Iris absorbed the stone, her body enveloped with Candace’s light for the last time, a light bringing peace to everyone.
In a room behind, Gloria’s body was lying down, farther away, on a throne in the same room, Rhea’s was sitting, head down.
In the middle of the place, Candace lay on her back.
Next to her, Dora was crouching. Candace held the sword, against her chest, her hand on Dora’s.
"It’s been a long ride, huh?"
"Yep, but you could really have said goodbye, who’s so happy to die?"
She laughed and stuck her tongue out.
"You should have said that there was nothing after, I would have been emotional... Hm... Hey, say..."
"Yep?"
"You’re so confident about the sequel, I’ve never seen you with such determination, are you sure everything is going to be alright?"
"Ah, you wonder if they can win? Don’t worry, you know I would never hurt you. If I’m willing to do it now, it’s because I’ve found something that will not only save our world but literally create a new one. And I’ll decide the world I want, so be prepared for an eternity of fun."
He winked at her, and she laughed at him.
She pushed the ground to raise her head, then rested against his chest.
"An eternity? It’s so long... But if you can decide, then can I make some decisions too?"
"Yes, but not something like dying. We will enjoy every second."
"... I know, that’s exactly what I want. Dora, if you succeed, I want to stay with you and the others, like these days when we were training."
Her eyes filled with tears, and slowly, the pressure of her hand increased, pushing the sword against her.
"I want a world where I won’t say goodbye again, a world where I won’t stay alone to not see my loved ones die... Elizabeth, I don’t want to ever see my students die."
"You won’t be alone, in fact, you will be so fed up with us that you will hide yourself for a moment of peace."
The blade pierced through her clothes, the tip of the sword opened a red spot on her chest.
"I want to see everyone happy, to see Malia, I want to be her friend. I want to see Wendy growing, I want to teach her to annoy you, to see her toy with you like a puppet."
"They’ve already accepted you, this time you’ll have more opportunities. But be careful Wendy doesn’t decide to bully you instead."
The sword penetrated her chest, piercing through her chest and lodged in her heart.
She felt no pain, not a single spike.
It was as if the sword was only a dream, but her blood spilled on the ground.
She brought her hand to his face, caressing the broken side of his face.
"I want to see you happy... I want to exist where you will exist... I want to be there... To see all your... moment of... joy... And to create them when... you’ll be sad... I want to stay... by your side... For...ev...er..."
Her eyes closed slowly, her hand descended.
Her head dived on his chest, and finally, her body stopped breathing.
Dora lowered his head against hers.
"My honor... If you still want to stick with a monster like me, then I’ll gladly sacrifice this world to make it happen."
A wind enveloped the room, swiping the dust everywhere, converging at two spots above. ƒrēewebnoѵёl.cσm
Above Candace and Rhea, a white orb and an orb of purple and blue hovered gracefully.
Dora gently let Candace’s back on the ground, on his knees, his gaze observed the face of the dean, then he closed his eyes and looked above.
"Let’s end this."
