Chapter 51 - Sea Circle Calendar Year 1492

First half of the Grand Line. Tanley Island. Port.

Flames raged high into the sky as six pirate ships surrounded the harbor from different directions. The port was under siege.

On the docks, hundreds of pirates blocked every exit. Numerous civilian corpses lay scattered across the ground. Most of the other pirates were aboard merchant ships, each holding two blurry photos as they searched frantically.

"Doesn't look like her. Not her either. This one doesn't match. This one looks close. Kill her. Don't let any children escape, especially the ones with purple hair. Move faster."

"Yes!!!"

Cries and screams echoed from the ships.

The pirates would rather kill the innocent than risk letting their target slip away. Anyone who even remotely resembled the woman in the photo was slaughtered and dumped into the sea.

In the corner of a ship's cabin, a mother and her child huddled together, clutching a Den Den Mushi. When she heard the pirates mention purple hair, the mother's face froze in shock. She seemed to understand something. Her thoughts raced. Then she made a decision.

She opened a nearby wooden barrel and gently placed her child inside.

Her voice was firm as she gave a final command. "No matter what happens, don't make a sound. Don't come out."

She covered the barrel with anything she could find—cloth, crates, sacks—then pressed a hand to her mouth to muffle her sobs. Taking one final look at her hidden child, she turned and walked toward another room to draw attention away.

When the pirates reached the room and burst through the door, she opened a window and jumped out, landing on the deck below. Without stopping, she sprinted toward the railing and dove into the ocean, swimming down into the depths.

A few pirates cursed under their breath as they chased after her, jumping into the water one after another. Moments later, a streak of red spread through the sea.

Then one of the pirates emerged, dragging the woman's lifeless body by her hair. He shouted toward the ship.

"That woman tricked us! Which room did she jump from? Search it, now! Zephyr's brat must be hiding in that room! Find him!

"Kill him!"

Still gripping her corpse, the pirate swam for shore to dispose of the body.

Meanwhile, the others rushed into the room where she had leapt from. They tore the place apart, smashing everything in sight. Even after completely wrecking the room, they found no sign of anyone hiding.

The pirate in charge paused, then narrowed his eyes, lips curling into a wicked grin.

"Tear the whole floor down. Zephyr's little brat has to be on this level. Find him! I'm gonna torture him to death myself."

He let out a shrieking laugh.

The others joined in, their excitement rising. Just the thought of taking revenge on Admiral Zephyr by killing his child thrilled them.

Fueled by bloodlust, the pirates redoubled their efforts. Their eyes, bloodshot and wild, darted across every surface. Furniture splintered beneath their boots. Doors were ripped from their hinges.

"Brat! Where are you?!"

"Come out already! Zephyr's little brat!"

"Hahahahaha!"

At last, they reached a cluttered storage room tucked into the far corner.

Like rabid animals, the vicious pirates smashed through everything. It didn't take long before they found Zephyr's son.

A small boy, barely three years old, with a mop of purple hair. One pirate seized him by the neck and lifted him off the ground. The child's face turned red as he kicked and squirmed. The pirate's eyes gleamed with perverse satisfaction.

But he didn't kill the child. Not yet.

Instead, he loosened his grip just enough to keep the boy conscious and dragged him to the upper deck.

"Captain! We found him!"

The pirate captain on deck lit up with excitement. "Quick! Bring him to me!"

He snatched the purple-haired toddler into his hands and grinned savagely, gripping the child's neck. Like he was admiring a piece of art, he slowly scanned every inch of the boy's skin.

"Zephyr," he sneered, "bet you never thought this day would come!"

Then, with a smile he shouted, "Bring me that woman's corpse! Take a picture for me! Tomorrow, I want it on the front page of every damn newspaper!

"Hahahahahahaha!"

A while later, as the captain made a pose, a sharp click echoed through the air.

A photo captured the scene.

The pirate captain's face twisted into a cruel smirk, one foot on the mother's corpse, and the purple-haired child struggling in his grip.

As the toddler gasped and flailed, legs kicking wildly, the captain just kept laughing. After the photo was taken, he lifted the child by the neck again. A flicker of hatred passed through his eyes as he spoke coldly.

"Blame your father for being Zephyr."

As soon as the words left his mouth, he began to squeeze.

The boy thrashed as the pirates around them watched, grinning, eager to see him die.

Suddenly—

Crack!

A thunderclap tore through the sky. A deafening boom followed, shaking the air itself. For a moment, everything fell silent—then came a voice, young and furious, ringing across the port.

"Stop!!!"

A bolt of lightning crashed down on the deck in front of the captain.

In an instant, Enel appeared.

No longer the boy from Birka, he now stood proud and commanding, more than twice the height he once was. Dressed in a crisp Marine uniform, he radiated authority. In his hand, he held a long golden staff—crafted from the same golden suitcase Sakazuki got in the ruins.

His eyes burned with fury.

"El Thor."

The sky flashed again. Lightning streaked down like divine wrath, striking pirates across the deck. Screams filled the air for only a second before falling into silence. Within moments, every pirate aboard the merchant ship had collapsed.

The other pirates on nearby ships began steering toward the commotion, slowly surrounding the vessel.

Now, only three remained on the deck—Enel, the pirate captain, and the purple-haired child still dangling in his grip.

Everyone else on the ship had been slaughtered by the pirates. The rest of the attackers had just been wiped out by Enel's lightning.

The pirate captain gave a cruel grin and shook the boy in his hand.

"A Logia user, huh? I'm so scared. Come on, kid. Why don't you strike me?"

He sneered and shook the child again like a toy.

Enel's fury deepened. He raised his golden staff and pointed it directly at the captain.

In the next instant—

Swish!

He vanished in a blur of speed, propelled by his Devil Fruit powers.

He reappeared right in front of the pirate captain, staff already swinging down toward the man's wrist.

The captain's smile didn't fade. He stared straight at the incoming attack, not moving at all.
