Mythology Rebooted-Chapter 418 - 193 Heavenly Father’s Court Welcomes Epic Level Weakening
Chapter 418: Chapter 193 Heavenly Father’s Court Welcomes Epic Level Weakening
Liverpool wasn’t far from Lundan, and the luxury train was not a sightseeing tour vehicle. Departing in the morning, one could arrive by the afternoon.
With the train clanging and clattering forward, the scenery outside the window moved slowly by.
In the luxurious carriage, Mona looked gloomily at Verity sitting opposite her. Originally, she was supposed to share a compartment with Wayne, but now, she was stuck with Verity while Wayne shared with Hawk Hound.
Bored out of her mind, Verity lay on the bed looking first at the scenery outside the window and then at the business books on Mona’s bed. With a serious face, she pushed open the door and decided to look for Wayne to play a game of cards.
Inside the compartment, there were cats and dogs, but no people.
"Where have they all gone?"
Wayne left the six compartments booked by the Magic Department, searching for Veronica’s whereabouts. He was sure the Dragon Blood haughty girl was on the train, her thin-skinned nature meaning she wouldn’t show herself until the right moment came.
After wandering the train corridor, Wayne sniffed, unable to detect any familiar fragrance, muttered to himself about how well she hid, and turned back to his own compartment.
One could hide on the train, but definitely not on the ship; sooner or later, she would be caught by him, heh heh heh.
In the blink of an eye, evening arrived, and everyone tackled dinner in the restaurant next to the station. Then they joined the motorcade headed for the port, boarding the cruise ship bound for the Republic of Ireland.
Spending the night on the cruise, they would land in the morning and head directly for the Snow Family’s abode in Northern Ireland.
The story was quite interesting.
It was almost twenty years ago that Ireland, in pursuit of freedom, fought for independence, resulting in the formation of the Irish Free Federation. A year ago, the federation transformed into a republic, breaking away from the Windsor Federation.
Though still nominally a part of the Windsor Federation, enjoying independence without being completely independent, the momentum had been building, and Windsor could not stop it.
The underlying reasons were complex and not easily articulated, but it boiled down to the Republic of Ireland’s faith in the Heavenly Father’s Court.
The Windsor Royal Family suppressed the Heavenly Father’s Court within their territory and almost covertly set up a small Holy See, which the Heavenly Father’s Court could not swallow. In response, they countered by undermining Windsor’s position.

Amusing as it was, looking beyond appearances revealed Windsor’s decline and the strong biceps of the Heavenly Father’s Court.
It’s hard for an arm to twist a thigh, and the court’s counterattacks on Windsor grew fiercer.
The use of the term ’counterattack’ was because Windsor once held an overwhelming advantage, battering the Heavenly Father’s Court into a retreat; not just Windsor but other nations of the God-chosen Continent had also launched a fierce offensive against the court.
They even won!
The Heavenly Father suffered a loss of face.
Wayne didn’t quite understand; in his view, the Heavenly Father’s Court had once unified the God-chosen Continent, routing the Five Goddess Church and causing many gods who left no record to perish.
So the question was, with the Heavenly Father’s Court having the upper hand and sweeping away all opposition, why did it start losing ground halfway, to the point where even the Papal State was almost lost?
If the battle was unwinnable, they could’ve called upon the Angels; it’s not like they didn’t have backers.
The Pope could tolerate countries disrespecting the Heavenly Father, but the moody temper of the Angels could hardly bear such annoyance; they’d eliminate you one by one.
This was the court that Wayne remembered, and the faith wars as he understood them.
Yet in reality...
Cars roamed the land, airplanes and cannons filled the skies, and even those old theologians who studied theology started pondering the truths of science and the world.
Wayne thought this over as he walked. He had previously researched this topic with the artistic girl, Odelia, but because the documentation was unclear and several churches tacitly erased the true history, they defined the Reformation as adapting to the times.
Wayne didn’t believe it; the Magic Realm had never reformed, and the God-chosen Continent, ruled by the Heavenly Father’s Court, would not have revolutionized without cause; there surely existed a hidden secret history.
In that era, the Heavenly Father’s Court experienced an epic level weakening!
"Wayne, where did you go?"
Verity found her target in the cruise corridor, bouncing and hugging his arm while dragging him: "It’s already dark, let’s go play cards in your room!"
Who would have thought, you’re quite the cardshark!
Wayne mentally retorted that this was no mere card game, but a clear dispensing of benefits.
After thinking for a moment, he slipped out of her grasp, putting an arm around Verity’s shoulder: "Cards are boring, let’s go to the deck and watch the moon instead."
Verity blinked, pondered for a moment, but insisted on playing cards.
"Fine, if you want to play cards, we’ll play. But just playing cards is dull, so whoever loses has to drink a glass of wine, okay?"
"No problem."
Verity readily agreed.
Wayne led her back to his own cruise compartment, knocked on the next room’s door, asking Mona to bring two bottles of red wine, and the three of them set up a card table.
Half an hour later, Verity lay dizzily on the bed, her eyes blurry and her cheeks tinged with crimson, claiming she couldn’t eat any more.
Wayne closed his eyes and his alcohol scent vanished in a moment. He then said to Mona beside him, "I’m going to take a stroll outside. If she wakes up, keep plying her with wine."
Mona nodded, sympathetically casting a glance at Verity.
So pitiful not to be devoured despite being served up like this.
Putting herself in Verity’s shoes, she felt bleak about her own prospects.
As for ’being served,’ Verity was much more proactive, young and pretty with a great figure, yet she had not managed to ’serve’ herself successfully.
If Verity didn’t succeed, it was highly doubtful she would either.
"Eh, where did Wayne go? Isn’t he playing cards anymore?"
Half-asleep, Verity sat up, and Mona kept her little head down, coaxing her to keep drinking from the bottle—gulping it down, she flopped back utterly motionless.
Meanwhile, Wayne took out the Sealing Book using Shadowmare, sensing the direction of the Obelisk and confirming that the unfortunate Obelisk had fallen into the Irish Sea Strait.
"It’s off the shipping route; I’ll need to work something out."
Wayne was determined to take a roundabout way, not out of fear of the Snow Family’s ambush. It was laughable; the big boss Ob had died, and the rest of those good-for-nothings couldn’t come up with any tricks.
