Chapter 389: Chapter 183 Little Mage, You Can’t Protect Anyone_2
Crack!
Just like a light going out, the energy storm vanished in an instant.
Humming———
Air friction resonated, and amid the grating sound waves, above the Magic Department, the overturned semi-circular light screen rippled.
Renata’s eyes burst with golden light, the holy lance held high above her head, releasing all the accumulated energy.
Boom!!!
A loud explosion could be heard throughout half of Lundan.
The semi-circular light screen cracked on one side, the shockwave swept backward, the rising gales rolled over oppressively, blowing Renata away, uprooting large trees along with the turf, and whirling them into the distance.
Gunther was scared half to death; these two "women" were reckless in their actions, and as the only rational person on the scene, he hurriedly cast Polarizing Magic to cover the commotion around them.
While the visual effects were covered, the sound wasn’t blocked at all; that deafening boom was so clear, not just to the Queen next door, but millions heard it.
One could imagine the Forestry Resources Planning Bureau was going to be very busy providing a reasonable explanation.
And foreign spies would definitely follow the trail of a weapon of mass destruction.
Gunther was utterly bewildered, realizing in the end, he was the only one sincerely helping the Magic Department.
As the turbulent winds receded, Megan draped a Black Robe over herself, vacuum inside, the Ancient Silver Coin hidden somewhere out of sight.
Renata hadn’t succeeded in shattering the magical barrier, but it was enough; with the inside and outside spaces connected, as long as the Legendary Mages weren’t dead, they could crawl out.
She looked down from above, her eyes twinkling with golden light as she searched for suspicious targets.
Soon, several flickering figures leaped out of the Spatial Fissure.
The Legendary Mages didn’t thank the Angel, but bowed slightly to show respect for a higher form of life.
Planck, chained up, continued to grumble in protest, although all the evidence pointed to him, but he knew he was a good person.
After rescuing the sealed Legendary Mages, Megan didn’t want to stay; she turned to leave.
Two figures blocked her way.
Borne.
Austin.
The former eyed Megan hungrily, rubbing his hands like a lecher, while the latter snorted coldly, and commanded, "Megan, you’ve done well. Do you have Planck’s Ancient Silver Coin with you?" ƒreewebηoveℓ.com
"Lord Austin, I haven’t obtained any Ancient Silver Coin," Megan replied respectfully with one hand over her chest.
"Is that so?"
Austin’s eyes gleamed as he glanced at Megan’s chest: "You’ve been with Lord Austin for so long, you’ve become quite good at lying, don’t force me, hand over the Ancient Silver Coin."
"Austin, calm down, whatever you say, Megan saved us,"
Borne interjected, smiling cheerily at Megan, "Don’t mind him; he’s upset about Planck. Speaking of which, we haven’t chatted in a while, fancy sitting in my office for a bit?"
Megan remained expressionless: "Lord Austin is waiting for me to report back. The Moonlight Church’s stronghold is suspected to have been attacked by the Devil, I won’t disturb you gentlemen."
With that, she turned and left.
Borne pouted, dissatisfied, "Damn Austin, he really has a way with women. If I had his charm, Megan would be completely devoted to me."
"Borne, stay here and watch Planck," Austin interrupted directly, issuing orders as the Deputy Minister, "I’ll go take a look at the Moonlight Church’s stronghold first; the Devil’s conspiracies are certainly not simple."
"Austin, our house arrest hasn’t ended yet; we can’t leave now."
Ivette, also a Deputy Minister, blocked his path, "Don’t worry about the Devil; the Angels have already gone there."
Austin closed his eyes and shook his head, "Ivette, the Angels aren’t to be trusted. Worrying about the house arrest order in this situation will only endanger Lundan, only we can protect it."
"You’ve got a point."
Ivette nodded, taking the opportunity to say, "But you’re still under suspicion, it doesn’t suit you to appear at the Moonlight Church. I’m ordered by the Minister to receive the High Priest of the Moonlight Church; it’s best that I go."
Austin furrowed his brows deeply, pondering for a moment before saying, "If you insist, I accept your reasoning."
With that, he moved towards the Magic Department, no longer insistent on heading to the Moonlight Church library.
Ivette didn’t hurry over either. With the situation unclear, it was better to let the Angels scout ahead, chatting with the other Legendary Mages to discuss what to do with Planck.
"You old fogeys, I’ve said I’m innocent!"
Planck refused to confess, bringing up numerous possibilities, but when everyone asked where his Ancient Silver Coin was, he hemmed and hawed, unable to speak clearly.
He claims not to have brought it today.
Full of holes, not to be trusted.

In the Dark Domain.
A twisted white humanoid figure contorted forward, its shape reconstituting after the initial discomfort.
Wayne looked at himself, barely covered, and lamented the difficult life of a mortal.
He did have a Holy Shroud suit that not only defended against Elemental Magic but was also bulletproof; yet, at crucial moments, for one reason or another, he wasn’t wearing it.
"If I’m naked, so be it. Anyhow, Kris is no stranger; might as well give her an early glimpse so she doesn’t get the shock of her life later on," he reasoned.
Wayne ignored the Book of Greed’s complaints and hastened through the Dark Domain.
Amid the eeriness of the Dark Domain, where concepts of up, down, left, and right didn’t exist and without any points of reference, it was difficult to walk in a straight line. Knowledge floating in the air was scarce, much to the Book of Greed’s dissatisfaction, complaining non-stop since entering.
Unfamiliar with such a situation, Wayne compared the Dark Domain to a poverty-stricken version of The Great Void Cosmos, striving to extend his senses to find the ritual site.
