Chapter 380: Chapter 180: The Winner Holds the Ultimate Interpretation Right_2

"What did I say, it’s not too late to learn now."

Wayne acted as if it were all a matter of course. Being an angel, he learned quickly and could blend in anywhere as an undercover agent, always thriving no matter the circumstances.

Mona felt nothing amiss and wholeheartedly accepted the explanation. Angels couldn’t be measured by ordinary standards; if there was a problem, it was with the person raising the question.

In short, the master could not be wrong.

She stepped through the teleportation gate first, and the scene before her eyes changed dramatically.

A dark sky dome, a full moon overhead, and two sharply pointed mountains rose from the ground.

Between the mountains, a waterfall cascaded like a Milky Way falling to earth, forming a silver-white water curtain under the moonlight, flickering with a calming glow that soothed the heart and spirit.

Above the waterfall, a full moon enveloped the twin peaks, mirroring the Dark Pool below, with their lunar reflections besetting each other, creating an exquisitely beautiful poetic painting.

On the left and right of the twin peaks stood over a dozen churches of varying sizes, standing like the most loyal guards, encircling the Goddess like stars around the moon.

The waterfall pounding into the pool below produced thunderous roars.

The air was filled with misty vapors mixed with the fresh scent of grass and trees, blocking out all noise and disturbance. Here, one could only feel holiness and serenity, as if their soul was being bathed in the moon’s water, purified and sublimated.

Mona coolly observed, untouched by the heretic’s temptations, while Wayne silently nodded in approval; these faith-based shearing operations sure knew how to put up a front.

"Boss, this space has been enclosed by the Moonlight Church’s Faith Barrier; my abilities are suppressed, and I can’t give it my all." Mona glanced at the Stigmata on the back of her hand. The suppression was excessive; without the Stigmata, she was no different from an ordinary person.

Wayne closed his eyes to sense the surroundings. Aside from the strongest elements like Death and Nature, the rest were so weakened that they were almost nonexistent.

He thought for a moment, took out the Heaven Holy Spear Pendant from his chest, and placed it before Mona: "This is an angel’s weapon. Use it well and don’t let me down."

"Please rest assured, even if I die in battle, I will uphold your glory." Mona took the Holy Spear on one knee, her eyes shimmering with golden light, her tone exceptionally solemn.

"Forget about dying; don’t take that risk for real. This is the Moonlight Church, not our Holy See. Prioritize your own safety; there’s no need to sacrifice yourself." Wayne felt it necessary to remind her. Unlike him, Mona, caught up in her fervor, was truly prepared to risk her life.

Thinking of this, he added another line: "Don’t keep talking about death. If you die, I’ll just have to find another servant. You wouldn’t want me to play those embarrassing games with other nuns, would you?"

The effect was immediate, and just the thought made Mona’s anger surge.

With the power of the Heaven Holy Spear enhancing her, Mona’s abilities buffed to the max, recovering to about eighty percent of her peak strength. White wings unfurled behind her as she took Wayne and flew towards the twin peaks.

Entering the Lundan Headquarters of the Moonlight Church, Wayne’s sense of smell was no longer sharp. Philomena had cloaked her presence, rendering him unable to pick up any scent.

Without a red name to guide him, Wayne could only explore passively, choosing the nearest church to land on, swiftly positioning Mona in front of him.

A routine operation, Mona was already used to it. With the Holy Spear partially unleashed, a white column of light burst forth, shattering the doors of the church ahead.

It wasn’t their own door, so destroying it came without any guilt.

Wayne followed behind Mona, flipping over four or five churches without seeing a single ghost.

The Moonlight Church had previously not been allowed to expand, so there weren’t many members within Lundan. The scarcity of people was understandable, but not a single person to be found was excessive.

Boom!

A loud explosion came from afar, and the white church roof burst open, with flames and black smoke billowing.

Mona, embracing Wayne, shot into the sky and, taking advantage of their high position, arrived at the scene of the explosion. Looking down, they saw two opposing groups.

More than a dozen mages of the Moonlight Church, armed with gunblades, fought against twin mages, also from the Church. The twins struggled valiantly but were visibly restrained in every move.

Conversely, the enemies showed no mercy, clearly having no intention of taking prisoners.

"What’s happening, a rebellion?"

From above, Wayne attempted to summon Fire and Wind Elements, but to no avail, not even with a waterfall nearby, as the Water Element was incredibly scarce.

He resigned himself to his fate, eyes glowing green as he tried to call forth vines for a clean sweep.

Still suppressed.

Wayne was at his wit’s end.

Belonging to the same alliance, and yet the Moonlight Church’s stronghold prevented the use of natural magic, guarding against their own like they were guarding against thieves. With such vermin, how could they ever defeat the alliance of Death and Darkness?

"Mona, go ahead, but be gentle. Don’t kill anyone," he instructed.

"Boss, who’s the target?"

"The ones with more people," Wayne replied, squinting his eyes. His vision was excellent, and he spotted that the group of mages from the Moonlight Church were all present at the airport. They should have been Philomena’s confidantes, yet for some reason, they had turned traitor.

They were fighting amongst themselves...

It must be the work of the devil!

Mona obeyed the command, attacking whoever Wayne pointed out. Her white wings spanned out, Holy Light extending, while countless white feathers materialized and rained down as sword-like projectiles, barraging the area in a saturated attack that left the people below in complete disarray.

The white light struck the earth, and the roars persisted.

Each of these mages had their unique skills and were battle elites trained by the Headquarters. Together, they conjured up a barrier, barely withstanding the barrage.

Wayne landed on the ground and came by the twin mages’ side.

The two had always given the young man cold stares, but as disinterested observers, they considered Wayne untrustworthy—a sentiment only reinforced as the High Priest became infatuated with his sweet nothings, making irrational decisions no matter how much they reasoned otherwise.

"Vernar, Deit, why are comrades fighting each other, and where is the High Priest?"
