Chapter 138: Castle Heart?!

The Angels’ innate ability is Resurrection!

Yeah, that’s right—the kind where they can come back to life after dying. And not just once, but multiple times! It’s basically a game-breaking skill.

Think about it—if you have a reliable resurrection ability, it’s like having extra lives compared to everyone else. How the hell is an enemy supposed to fight that? They can’t! It’s a total steamroll.

That’s exactly why, even though Angels don’t have the highest base stats, their actual combat power is insanely terrifying!

Punching Devils! Kicking Dragons!

That’s the Angel race for you!

In a 1v1 fight, among all the major factions’ Legendary Units, Angels are ranked number one! Devils and Black Dragons tie for second place. This ranking is universally recognized, which just goes to show how terrifying the Angels of the Castle faction really are...

And because of that, if given the choice, Ethan would love to get his hands on an Angel unit. But that’s just wishful thinking—completely unrealistic.

Why?

Simple.

Whether it’s a Legendary Unit’s Creature Dwelling or a Mythic Unit’s Creature Dwelling, these places are the lifeblood of their respective factions.

Every faction guards their Legendary and Mythic Creature Dwellings with their lives. No one else is allowed to touch them. If someone tries? It’s an all-out war—no negotiations, no mercy.

If a Portal of Glory—the dwelling of Legendary Angels—were to be discovered anywhere, whether it’s deep in Inferno, buried in the undead Necropolis, or hidden on the hundredth floor of a Dungeon...

The entire Castle faction would mobilize immediately to reclaim it!

And it’s the same for every other faction.

No matter where they are, Legendary and Mythic Creature Dwellings are sacred ground—they cannot fall into enemy hands. That’s the bottom line.

So if Ethan were to actually stumble upon an unclaimed Portal of Glory...

As long as no one finds out, he’s fine.

But the moment someone does?

He’s dead.

This isn’t just a ticking time bomb—it’s a ticking nuclear warhead!

But if he did find one... would he take it?

Hell yes!

Fortune favors the bold. Cowards starve, but the daring thrive.

If he wants to rise to power, he needs guts. He needs ambition.

Besides, the Castle faction may be strong, but they’re not invincible.

"Vwoom!"

Just as Ethan was lost in thought, a blinding light erupted inside the Hall of Radiance—pure, holy, and dazzling beyond belief! Ethan immediately turned to look.

A Radiant Spirit, its entire body surrounded by shimmering particles of light energy, slowly descended, bathed in divine radiance.

"Big bro!"

The moment the figure saw Ethan, they called out excitedly.

Clearly, this Radiant Spirit was none other than—

"You did it?" Ethan smiled, lowering his voice as he spoke to Emily.

"Mm..." Emily nodded, then followed Ethan as they left the Hall of Radiance.

But neither of them noticed—

The moment they stepped out, deep within the Hall of Radiance, a Legendary Angel suddenly lifted its head.

Gazing at Ethan’s retreating figure, it murmured softly—

"This aura... Could it be the Crimson Ultimate Hero of the Green Dragon clan from the Forest faction?"

...

"So? How did it go? Did what we predicted actually happen?!"

As they walked, Emily shifted back into her human form, and Ethan wasted no time asking.

"Yeah." Emily nodded and replied, "Right before my hero advancement ceremony, someone calling himself Wisdom Angel Cain tried to recruit me. I turned him down."

"And the price for that?"

Emily sighed. "Originally, when I advanced to a Radiant Spirit hero, my rank should have been S-tier, a purple Epic hero. But now... it’s only B-tier."

"On top of that, my level got reset after the advancement. Looks like I have to start over from scratch."

"What about your hero soul?" Ethan asked.

"Still with me." Emily reassured him.

"Good..."

Ethan let out a breath of relief and smiled. "B-tier Epic hero isn’t a big deal. This is just a stepping stone anyway."

"I know." Emily nodded, then looked at him seriously. "Ethan, what do you think I should do next?"

"Simple. Find a Castle Heart and become a lord, just like me!" Ethan answered without hesitation. "In Glory Lords X, you have to be a lord to have true autonomy and independence! It’s a tough road, but I can help you."

At that, Ethan paused, falling into thought.

He was considering whether to give Emily the Castle Heart of Blackmire Castle...

Or maybe wait until Emerald Castle reached level three, then give her one of its Sub-Castle Hearts.

After all, no kingdom could thrive with just one castle.

Once a castle reached level three, it could generate Sub-Castle Hearts, which could then be handed off to trusted subordinates to expand outward. The higher the castle’s level, the more Sub-Castle Hearts it could produce.

But there was a catch—Main Castle Hearts and Sub-Castle Hearts had a master-servant relationship. Whoever owned the Main Castle Heart had absolute control over all Sub-Castle Hearts.

Life or death, all decided with a single thought.

In other words, taking a Sub-Castle Heart was basically working under someone else—and not just any job, but one where your boss could strangle you at any moment.

For Emily, though, that wasn’t really a problem. Ethan was her brother—he’d never screw her over.

But still... a Sub-Castle Heart wasn’t the same as a true Castle Heart. It had built-in limitations and a lower growth ceiling...

Ethan was just about to lay everything out for Emily, let her decide for herself—

When she suddenly gasped in surprise.

"Castle Heart?!"

"Yeah, Castle Heart. What about it?" Ethan blinked, confused.

"You remember Aeliana, right? My Blazing Griffin Knight hero? She might know where to find one!"

Emily’s voice was filled with excitement.

"Wait, seriously?!"

Ethan froze for a second, then his eyes widened in shock.

A Castle Heart was insanely rare!

In some ways, its value was on par with—or even greater than—a Legendary Unit’s Creature Dwelling, or even a Mythic Unit’s Creature Dwelling!

If this intel was legit, then there was no question about it—

They had to get their hands on that Castle Heart.

No matter what.
