Chapter 166: THREADING ON THIN ICE

"OPPA, don’t worry— I’ll make sure Lee Junsu won’t be able to go near you and Kim Heedo."

Sohee was relieved to hear that from Hong Sera.

I can trust this kid.

Anyway, after talking to Sanha, that idol hyung was escorted by Kwon Gaon and Yang Jaewon outside.

Now only Sohee, Hong Sera, and Cho Euntak were in the room.

The Crybabies have been reunited at last.

"Thank you, Sera-ya," Sohee said, smiling. "But, just to be clear... your family won’t kill Lee Junsu, right? No offense meant."

"None taken, Oppa," Hong Sera said, smiling back at him. "Don’t worry. We won’t kill Lee Junsu. But we won’t let him get away with what he did without getting even. I’ll convince my brothers to let Lee Junsu pay with his career."

That gotta hurt for Lee Junsu.

I may not like the guy, but losing his career as an idol got to hurt since he worked hard for it.

Having said that, Sohee wouldn’t stop Hong Sera from her revenge.

She almost died— Lee Junsu should be locked up for it. Losing his career is a small price to pay for almost killing someone.

"Oppa, do you feel bad for Lee Junsu?"

"No, not really," Sohee said while shaking his head. "I don’t have the luxury to worry about other people." He then placed his hands on his tummy. "I want to focus on my baby."

"Hyung, are you going to take a break from school?" Cho Euntak asked worriedly. "Male Omegas are at a higher risk than the others when they are pregnant..."

Right?

"Thank you for worrying about me, Euntakie. But I’m fine," Sohee assured his younger friend. "I want to finish this semester before I take a leave of absence."

"Then I’ll take extra care of you, Hyung," Cho Euntak said determinedly. "We’re classmates in all the subjects we both take, so I’ll make sure nothing bad will happen to you."

Aww.

That was sweet.

Sohee was just about to praise Cho Euntak, but...

"Why would you take care of someone else’s Omega, kid?"

Aigoo.

It was Kim Heedo, of course, who asked that ridiculous question.

I don’t like how this Heedo refers to me as his Omega. It’s true, but I don’t like how he says it. But I’ll be patient since I’m dealing with the nineteen-year-old amnesiac Kim Heedo. Alpha kids his age really tend to act edgy by calling their partners their Omegas.

"Kid, I don’t care if you’re Sohee Hyung’s friend— you’re still an Alpha," Kim Heedo scolded Cho Euntak while standing next to him. "Don’t act like you’re close to Sohee Hyung."

"I’m not acting close to Sohee Hyung, Sunbae-nim," Cho Euntak said meekly. "We’re really close..."

Kim Heedo glared at Cho Euntak.

Cho Euntak then hid behind Hong Sera.

"Don’t bully our Euntakie," Hong Sera scolded Kim Heedo. "He’s harmless, okay? This kid isn’t going to steal Sohee Hyung from you, Heedo-ya."

"You can’t trust Alphas," Kim Heedo said defensively. "Moreover, Sohee Hyung is pretty. How can I trust an Alpha..."

Kim Heedo trailed off as if he just realized what he said, and then he blushed.

"Heedo-ya, I’m happy that you’re still down bad for Sohee Oppa," Hong Sera said, smiling teasingly. "We’ll leave the two of you alone now. Have fun."

Then Hong Sera and Cho Euntak really left the room.

Good kids.

"Hyung is pretty," Kim Heedo said defensively. "I was just stating a fact. It wasn’t like I was trying to impress you or something."

"Riiight," Sohee said teasingly. "Thank you for the compliment."

His husband just cleared his throat while avoiding Sohee’s gaze.

How cute.

At least, I can tell that Heedo is still attracted to me.

"Heedo-ya, what did you talk about with Lee Junsu?" Sohee asked carefully. "He didn’t say anything weird, did he?"

Kim Heedo still didn’t meet his gaze. "How about Hyung? What did you talk about with that idol?"

"He asked me to listen to his story, but I refused."

Kim Heedo turned to Sohee with a shocked look on his face.

Did he not expect me to answer his question properly?

"We’re open to communication like this," Sohee explained since Kim Heedo looked confused. "As much as possible, we refrain from keeping secrets from each other."

"But we don’t have to tell everything to each other, do we?"

Oh.

So, Lee Junsu really said something.

"It’s okay if you don’t tell me what Lee Junsu told you," Sohee said, sighing while shaking his head. "Just make sure that you won’t end up hurting me and our baby."

And Kim Heedo just remained quiet.

I should really try the method that Garam Hyung-nim taught me.

***

"SOHEE-SSI, always keep this with you."

Oh.

Sohee accepted the red talisman that Shaman Jung handed to him.

He was standing in front of the car with Kim Heedo when the shaman approached them.

Lee Junsu and Sanha had already left with Hong Sera.

Hong Sera brought Cho Euntak with her, as well as Kwon Gaon and Yang Jaewon.

On the other hand, President Kang Nari and Vice Chairman Kim Dohan already left. His parents-in-law had already been informed that they would be staying at their house. Hence, they left with Dr. Seong Kyungmin in order to prepare stuff for Sohee’s pregnancy.

"Thank you, sir," Sohee said politely. He may not be that superstitious, but there was no harm in accepting a shaman’s protection. "Do I just need to keep this talisman with me all the time?"

"Yes," Shaman Jung said while nodding. "It will be ideal if you keep it near your body. That talisman will protect you and your baby from any kind of bad energy that may come your way."

Oh.

I guess it’s not over yet since Shaman Crystal is still at large.

Moreover, Sohee still needed to take care of his biological father.

I still have a lot of things to do.

***

OH, HYUNG fell asleep.

Kim Heedo found it cute that Park Sohee tried to keep himself awake by talking to him.

But, in the end, he still fell asleep just ten minutes after the car drove off.

Cute.

No, not Park Sohee.

He has my baby, so he kind of looks cute in my eyes.

Heedo cleared his throat in hopes of clearing his thoughts, and then he carefully carried Park Sohee in his arms.

Kang Sul, who opened the door, looked surprised.

Yes, he remembered Kang Sul because he had been working with their family since Heedo was in middle school.

Of course, the Kang Sul in my memories is younger than he is now.

"Young Master, I’ll carry Park Sohee-nim."

"Are you crazy?" Heedo growled at Kang Sul lowly. He didn’t raise his voice because he didn’t want Kim Heedo to wake up. "You’re an Alpha, so stay away from my husband."

Kang Sul looked like he was already used to it, so he just bowed his head politely.

Hah.

Alphas are wolves, indeed.

And when Heedo finally arrived inside his parents’ mansion...

"Oppa!"

"Hyung."

Heedo frowned when his twin siblings greeted him.

These two brats are also Alphas...

He was starting to regret the fact that he suggested they live with his parents in the meantime.

Even Eomma is a Recessive Alpha.

"Oh. Sohee Hyung is asleep," Kim Hanhae commented. "Hyung must be tired."

"Yeah, so get out of my way," Heedo said. He didn’t want to be grumpy around his siblings. But as an Alpha, he couldn’t help it. "Have they finished preparing Sohee Hyung’s room?"

"Eomma said Sohee Hyung should use your room since it’s the best room here, Oppa," Kim Haewon said. "Eomma said you could use the guest room if you don’t want to share the room with Sohee Oppa."

Wow.

My own mother kicked me out of my own bedroom...

Not that Heedo would complain.

My room is really the best room in this house.

"Fine," Heedo said, sighing. "I’ll lend my room to Sohee Hyung."

And then he walked past his twin siblings.

He hadn’t walked that far yet when they heard the two talking about nonsense.

"I guess we should just talk about it with Sohee Hyung tomorrow," Kim Hanhae "whispered" to Kim Haewon. "Go Gunjoon got home safely anyway."

Did they forget that I have sharp hearing since I’m a Dominant Alpha?

Whispering was useless around him.

"But it’s really a small world, isn’t it?" Kim Haewon whispered back to Kim Hanhae. "What are the chances that the person who saved Sohee Oppa’s half-brother is his ex-boyfriend?"

Ex-boyfriend?

Heedo froze in his tracks.

Sohee Hyung has an ex-boyfriend...?

Well, it should be normal since Park Sohee was even older than him.

However...

This is pissing me off.

***

LIM GARAM didn’t mean to.

But when he went to Song Sihyuk’s study, he accidentally saw things that he shouldn’t have seen.

"Garam-ah, you’re here?"

Lim Garam turned around and faced Song Sihyuk who had just entered the study wearing a set of fresh clothes. "Hyung, you’re stalking Hong Sera?"

There were pictures of Hong Sera on Song Sihyuk’s table.

Those pictures were obviously taken in secret.

"Are you picking a fight with Daesung Group this time?"

"It’s not Hong Sera I’m keeping an eye on," Song Sihyuk explained. "I’m keeping an eye on the thing that she took home with her."

"What thing?"

"Lee Junsu."

Lim Garam knitted his eyebrows, confused. "Lee Junsu? Kim Heedo’s ex-boyfriend? Why would you keep an eye on that kid?"

"I’ll tell you later," Song Sihyuk said, and then he quickly changed the topic. "Do you need something from me, honey?"

Lim Garam couldn’t answer right away since he saw it in Song Sihyuk’s eyes earlier— he caught a glimpse of lunacy in his husband’s eyes.

It was only for a moment, but it was very clear.

Lee Junsu, what did you do?

Lim Garam gulped when he recognized that look on Song Sihyuk’s face earlier.

Sihyuk Hyung is going to kill that kid.

"Honey?"

"Oh," Lim Garam snapped out of his idle thoughts when Song Sihyuk gently held his shoulders while calling him affectionately. "Hyung, I want to visit Sohee."

Song Sihyuk frowned. "Again?"

"Please?" Lim Garam asked while giving Song Sihyuk his best puppy dog eyes. "I just want to check on him."

It was ridiculous that he had to beg his husband just to step foot outside.

However, this was easier than arguing.

It’s a bit tiring, but this is the life I chose.

"Fuck. You’re using those eyes on me again," Song Sihyuk complained lightly, and then he sighed. "Alright. I’ll let you meet that kid. But on one condition." He then cupped Lim Garam’s face between his hands. "Honey, could you play detective in my little scheme?"

I knew it— this psycho is out for blood.
