Chapter 147: BLESSING

AFTER Sohee and Kim Heedo made the biggest decision of their lives yet, the next thing they did was inform their parents.

Well, Kim Heedo’s parents, to be precise.

President Kang Nari and Vice Chairman Kim Dohan listened intently while they were having dinner in the dining hall of Shaman Jung’s residence.

They invited the shaman to join them, but the shaman refused politely.

And so did Lim Garam and Mija.

Yes, Garam Hyung-nim and Mija are still here with us. Apparently, Mija and Shaman Jung aren’t done with the ritual that they’re preparing.

On the other hand, Sohee thought Lim Garam stayed because he wanted to stay away from Song Sihyuk for a few days. Hence, he let the older Omega stay there because, honestly, Lim Garam deserved it. His idol looked at peace there with Baby Gunwoo.

Garam Hyung-nim probably feels suffocated in their house.

"First of all, thank you for telling us about your decision."

Sohee’s idle thoughts were interrupted when his mother-in-law, President Kang Nari, broke the silence.

"I understand that you have to conceive a child to protect Sohee’s position in our family," President Kim Nari said. "Both of you are adults who are capable of making sane decisions. But let me remind you that having a child isn’t a game. After all, you’ll be responsible for another life. Are you really ready for that kind of responsibility?"

Sohee thought he should answer first because he was older than Kim Heedo.

However, his husband held his hand under the table and spoke first.

"Eomma, Sohee Hyung and I didn’t decide to have a child on a whim," Kim Heedo said in a calm but firm voice. He looked confident, too. "I don’t know if you already noticed, but Sohee Hyung and I have developed genuine feelings for each other. So, we’re not just married on paper— we’re a real couple now."

Aww.

Sohee felt so giddy at the moment that it took him all the self-restraint he had to stop himself from giggling like a teenage girl that he wasn’t.

Heedo’s making me feel like this is my first time falling in love.

"Sohee Hyung and I actually talked about having a baby in the future. We’ve always wanted to have a child, so it’s like we’re just doing it in advance," Kim Heedo continued. "Eomma, Appa, Sohee Hyung and I will do our best to be loving and responsible parents."

"Having said that, we still need your guidance," Sohee added politely. That was actually one of the reasons why they decided to inform their parents about their decision. "We need your blessing and support."

There, I said it.

President Kang Nari and Vice Chairman Kim Dohan looked at each other as if they were talking with their eyes.

In the end, their parents turned to Sohee and Kim Heedo with a soft look on their faces.

Aww.

"Of course, we will support you," President Kang Nari said with a smile on her face. "If you need us, we’re always here for you. Call us anytime."

Aww.

"Thank you, Eomma."

"Thank you, Mother-in-law."

Vice Chairman Kim Dohan cleared his throat as if getting their attention, and then he asked: "What are you going to do about school once you get pregnant, Sohee-ya? Will you drop out?"

Sohee knew why his father-in-law asked that.

Omegas get pregnant easily if their partner is the Alpha that they’re bonded with.

Very easily.

That was why Omegas were very, very careful when having sex with an Alpha.

I could get pregnant in just five days after getting knotted by Heedo.

Yes, that fast.

"I still plan to finish this semester after getting pregnant, Father-in-law," Sohee answered politely. He had already discussed that with Kim Heedo earlier. "Then I’ll take a leave of absence after the sem."

Schools, even the government and private offices, were lenient to pregnant Omegas.

Male Omegas also carry their babies in their wombs for nine months, like women do. But, unlike most women, male Omegas don’t really develop a huge baby bump.

Yes, male Omegas would often give birth to babies smaller than average.

Male Omegas are rare, but a male Omega who actually gives birth to a baby is rarer.

"I understand. Thank you for telling us," Vice Chairman Kim Dohan said while nodding. "Then I’ll start looking for a villa for you, Sohee-ya."

Sohee almost choked on his saliva. "F-Father-in-law?"

"I heard most male Omegas have sensitive pregnancies, so I want you to spend your pregnancy in a beautiful villa— away from the noisy and stressful city," Vice Chairman Kim Dohan said, the excitement in his voice loud and clear. "Of course, that villa comes with an elite team of household staff members. We’ll also bring a doctor that we can trust and have them live near you."

"Abeoji, please stop," Kim Heedo complained to his father lightly. "I should be the one providing all those things for my husband. And I have my own villa."

"The villa where you used to bring your friends to party? Do you think that’s an appropriate place for my son-in-law to spend his pregnancy, huh?"

"..."

Pfft.

Sohee had to bite his lips to stop himself from laughing when Kim Heedo’s face turned red.

"And all the things you have were from us anyway," President Kang Nari said teasingly, the smile in her voice evident. "You haven’t earned your own money yet, son. So, you can’t stop from spoiling our son-in-law."

"Eomma and Abeoji are being annoying," Kim Heedo whined half-heartedly, and then he turned to Sohee— looking at him with sad puppy eyes. "Hyung, should I get a part-time job? I want to provide for you using my own money."

Sohee smiled, and then he teased his husband: "Heedo-ya, what kind of part-time job would give the money to match the lifestyle that Mother-in-law and Father-in-law are willing to provide for me?"

Kim Heedo looked shocked by Sohee’s response, and then he acted like he was hurt for real. "You’re all bullying me!"

Sohee and his parents-in-law laughed at Kim Heedo’s whining.

This is the kind of family that my baby will be born into.

And this was the other reason why Sohee didn’t want to lose to Lee Junsu.

I can’t give up on Kim Heedo and my new family.

***

"MOTHER-IN-LAW, Father-in-law, I have a favor to ask."

Sohee took that opportunity to have a serious conversation with his parents-in-law when Kim Heedo stepped out of the dining hall to answer a phone call.

He got a persistent call from Sihyuk-ssi.

"What is it, dear?" President Kang Nari asked gently. "Tell us."

"Can you keep this a secret from Chairman Kim?" Sohee asked hesitantly. He was talking about Kim Heedo’s grandfather, of course. "I don’t want Chairman Kim to have some weird expectations of our future child. But it’s not only the chairman. Heedo and I decided to also keep this a secret from our friends."

It wasn’t like they didn’t trust their friends.

But sometimes, the more precious a thing is, the more you have to hide it from other people— it doesn’t matter whether it’s from your friends or family.

"I understand, dear," President Kang Nari said. "We promise to keep this a secret from Father-in-law. We won’t tell anyone about this— not even the twins."

"Thank you, Mother-in-law."

"Is there anything else we can help you with?" Vice Chairman Kim Dohan asked carefully. "We know what’s going on since our legal representatives report everything to us. And we can tell that you’re handling your cases well. But if you need an extra hand, don’t hesitate to reach out to us. In fact, even if you don’t have a problem, you’re welcome to come to us."

Oh, right.

Sohee could read between the lines, so he understood what his father-in-law really meant by what he said.

Come to think of it, Heedo and I had been too busy recently to visit them.

"Thank you for saying that, Father-in-law," Sohee said, smiling at his parents-in-law. "I’ll make sure Heedo and I will visit you more often."

It seemed like Sohee said the right thing because his parents-in-law smiled back.

I’m really a part of this family now.

***

"YOU CAN’T do this to me, you damn brat! You’ll regret this! I’ll curse you to death!"

Lee Junsu clenched his hands tight while watching Sanha’s men drag Shaman Crystal out of his bedroom.

When the shaman and the guards were gone, he glared at Sanha.

"Are you really going to isolate me from everyone?"

"That’s kinda the point of keeping you locked up here, babe," Sanha said casually, shrugging. "Plus, Shaman Crystal is starting to become a bad influence on you."

Lee Junsu smirked bitterly. "Aren’t you the one who introduced that shaman to me?"

"Shaman Crystal wasn’t that bad back then. But the more she loses her divine power, the worse she becomes."

"So, you’re cutting her off now that you don’t need her anymore?"

"Yes, just like how you planned to throw me away once you were done using me."

Lee Junsu flinched, but he didn’t cave in. "You know I was just using you, so why did you stay? What do you want from me?"

"You’re already where I want you to be, Lee Junsu."

"You can’t keep me here forever. I have a career—"

"For now," Sanha said, smiling. But that smile looked threateningly. "Junsu-ya, I’m still debating whether to fake your death or not since I know you love being an idol. So, don’t force me to "kill" you."

Now Lee Junsu couldn’t talk back.

If I provoke this crazy bastard, he might really fake my death.

"At least tell me who you really are, Sanha."

"Dropping the honorifics now, huh? That’s fine. I’ll just think of it as you acting cute for me," Sanha commented, amused. "My real name is Jin Taewook."

It was a common name.

However...

"Are you related to Jin Taejoon?" Lee Junsu asked carefully. "Shaman Crystal was the one who introduced me to Jin Taejoon when I was looking for miracle pills."

If Shaman Crystal was working for Sanha, then...

"Jin Taejoon is my older brother," Sanha said, smiling. This time, the bastard’s smile looked a little sad. "He’s actually my half-brother. I was able to live as a civilian because my mother was one."

Lee Junsu was surprised to know that Jin Taewook was actually Jin Taejoon’s brother.

That the idol Sanha actually came from a family of thugs.

Is Sanha Hyung’s mafia family that influential that they were able to hide his real identity all this time?

"Speaking of miracle pills, don’t forget to take one." Sanha then pointed at the drawer. "There’s a bottle of miracle pills there."

Obviously, Sanha would know that Lee Junsu was taking miracle pills.

After all, he knows I buy them from his older brother. And Shaman Crystal definitely told him I needed to be pregnant with Kim Heedo’s baby.

However, the fact that Sanha wanted him to continue taking those miracle pills...

"You bastard," Lee Junsu said, stepping away from Sanha. "If you touch me—"

"I won’t force myself on you, Junsu-ya," Sanha assured him, laughing softly. "I’m confident that I can seduce you anyway. You may not love me— but I know you love my body and my bedroom skills."

Bastard.

***

"I WILL CURSE you all!"

Crystal yelled at the top of her lungs, cursing Jin Taewook’s men who had thrown her at the side of the road mercilessly.

The men just ignored her, went back to the car, and then drove off.

So, now, she stood alone in a dark and suspicious alleyway near where she lived.

Haaah.

"I’m such a good actress," Crystal praised herself when the van was out of sight. And then she pulled out the folded paper in the pocket of her skirt. It was what Lee Junsu handed to her before Sanha kicked her out of the villa. "So, this is where I’ll find Park Sohee’s biological father."

"I ran a background check on Park Sohee before when I was looking for a weakness that I could use against him. And the weakness I found was his biological father. That person is currently working in one of Ilsung Group’s affiliate companies. Do you think you can help Park Sohee’s father escape from there?"

"It won’t be easy, but it’s possible," Crystal whispered to herself. "Lee Junsu has to steal Park Sohee’s luck as soon as possible."

Only then would my divine power return to me completely.
