Chapter 140: THE THREE GREAT SHAMANS

SOHEE LET out a gasp while watching the breaking news on the TV.

He wasn’t alone then.

Even Kim Heedo looked shocked by what they were watching.

"The cause of the fire remains unknown, but it has been confirmed that popular celebrity couple Lee Junsu-ssi and Sanha-ssi are both in critical condition..."

Sohee gulped hard.

Is this for real?

"Ahjussi, find out if what happened to Sanha and Lee Junsu is true."

When Sohee turned to Kim Heedo, his husband was already talking on the phone.

It’s probably Mr. Shin on the line.

"And investigate if it was really an accident or not."

Oh?

Heedo thinks it wasn’t an accident.

To be fair, Sohee had the same thoughts.

Thank goodness.

If it was only him, Kim Heedo would probably tease him for "watching too many dramas."

Not this time.

The timing is impeccable since we’re looking for a perfect time to confront Sanha-ssi and Lee Junsu. Then, suddenly, they’re in a critical condition?

"Hyung?"

Oh, Kim Heedo was already done talking on the phone.

"Let’s go, Hyung."

Ah, right.

They were headed to Shaman Jung’s temple.

However...

"Is it okay if we leave?" Sohee asked worriedly. "I feel like we should stay here..."

"Why, though?"

"At least until Mr. Shin is finished investigating the accident?"

"Hyung, Ahjussi will deliver his reporter wherever we are," Kim Heedo said, tilting his head to one side. "Plus, I feel like you’ll be safer in Shaman Jung’s temple. Although I don’t trust that man, I can tell that he won’t harm you."

Aww.

"You’re more worried about me than Lee Junsu."

Sohee didn’t mean to say that out loud.

Hence, he was surprised when he heard his own voice saying that.

"Of course, Hyung— you’re my husband," Kim Heedo said as if that was the most natural thing in the world to say. "And I can’t afford to worry about Lee Junsu when there’s a huge possibility that he wants to harm you. I don’t care if I’m being heartless towards the person I had a history with, but I can no longer see him the same way I did before. Just the thought of Lee Junsu targeting Hyung is enough for me to dislike him. If we prove that he’s indeed involved in Hyung’s unfortunate incidents in the past, then I don’t think I could ever forgive Lee Junsu."

Aww.

This makes it clearer to me that Heedo has really moved on from Lee Junsu.

And the best part?

It seems like I’m the reason.

Sohee smiled, and then he gave Kim Heedo a peck on the lips.

"I’m not complaining, but what’s the kiss for, Hyung?" Kim Heedo asked, obviously pleasantly surprised. "What did I do to deserve such a reward?"

"That’s for liking me."

"Hyung, do you think my feelings for you are just as light as a peck on the lips?"

Aigoo.

This brat is getting smarter and smarter— especially when it comes to asking for a "reward."

Of course, he didn’t hate it.

"Then tell me, Heedo-ya. How deep are your feelings for me?"

"If my feelings for Hyung would be converted to what type of a kiss, then they would definitely be a French kiss."

"You just want a deep kiss since the peck didn’t satisfy your horny ass."

Kim Heedo laughed. "I like it when you talk vulgar, Hyung."

"Pervert."

Again, his husband laughed.

This brat’s laugh really sounds expensive...

Sohee’s train of thought was interrupted when Kim Heedo gently grabbed his wrist, and then he guided his hand until it was near his lips.

Then his husband parted his lips before putting Sohee’s finger inside his mouth.

Ohh.

It felt strange because, usually, it was Kim Heedo’s finger in Sohee’s mouth.

The role was reversed this time, so he didn’t know how to react.

I like this, though.

Sohee shivered when Kim Heedo began licking his finger without breaking eye contact.

And, damn, his husband’s lustful gaze turned him on instantly.

"Heedo-ya, play with my tongue, too."

Kim Heedo chuckled, and in just the blink of an eye, his tongue was already playing with Sohee’s.

Yes, we were late to our schedule.

***

"HYUNG, do you want me to carry you?"

Sohee glared at Kim Heedo even though he could tell that his husband was genuinely worried about him (and his back).

However, he was still a bit upset.

"Kim Heedo, didn’t I tell you not to overdo it since we have an appointment after...?"

"I’m sorry, Hyung," Kim Heedo said, bowing his head. "I just couldn’t get enough of you."

Aigoo.

Sohee was also forced to wear a turtleneck shirt despite the warm weather because of Kim Heedo.

He left marks all over my neck!

Having said that, seeing Kim Heedo’s apologetic face melted Sohee’s anger instantly.

It sucks that I’m a sucker for my husband’s face.

Even so, he had to stay strong.

I can’t let him get away with it every time.

"Kim Heedo, sex ban," Sohee said sternly, making Kim Heedo gasp out loud. "For a week."

Now Kim Heedo looked relieved that the sex ban this time would only last a week.

Whew.

To be honest, Sohee needed a break, too.

Ever since I lifted the first sex ban, there hadn’t been a night that we only just slept. I love being intimate with Kim Heedo, but my back— my poor back and hips might break if I keep up with his sex drive nonstop.

"Okay, Hyung. I accept your punishment."

"Good boy."

Only then did they get out of the car.

Shin Kang— who opened the door for them— bowed his head. "Then I’ll go ahead, Young Master, Park Sohee-nim. I’ll personally look into the matter at hand. I’ll send Kang Sul to pick you up later."

Kim Heedo nodded. "Alright. I leave everything in your capable hands, Ahjussi."

"Take care, Mr. Shin," Sohee added. He was worried because Shin Kang would go on an undercover mission. "If it gets too dangerous, just forget your mission and come back safely. Your life is more important than your job."

Kim Heedo looked at Sohee in disbelief.

But Sohee didn’t take back his words.

On the other hand, Shin Kang smiled at Sohee as if he was grateful. "Thank you for saying that, Park Sohee-nim."

***

"HYUNG?"

Sohee was walking next to Kim Heedo while they were on their way to Shaman Jung’s private residence when his husband called him awkwardly. "What is it?"

"I understand that you’re worried about Ahjussi since you’re a kind person, but please don’t forget that Ahjussi is working as much as he is getting paid," Kim Heedo said carefully. "Ahjussi is a professional. Don’t you think he might get offended thinking that you said what you said because you didn’t trust him?"

"Of course, that thought crossed my mind. But I trust Mr. Shin’s judgment. I know he knows I said those words not because I didn’t think he was capable, but because I genuinely care about him."

In fact, Sohee could tell that Shin Kang was slightly touched by his concern.

Mr. Shin is probably used to the coldness of the Kims. Well, to be fair, I understand where Kim Heedo is coming from since he’s paying Mr. Shin handsomely. But I didn’t grow up in the same environment as my husband. So, I could relate more to an employee like Mr. Shin than a chaebol like Kim Heedo.

"Hyung, don’t get attached to Ahjussi too much," Kim Heedo said hesitantly. "Remember how Garam Hyung-nim was betrayed by the nanny he entrusted his son to?"

Oh, right.

That happened.

"In the end, it’s better to maintain a professional relationship with the people working for us," Kim Heedo added carefully. "But I learned something from Hyung today. I’ll be nicer to Ahjussi. Well, maybe not as nice as you because I’m not a good person like Hyung. But I’ll make sure I won’t let Ahjussi feel like I’m treating him like a robot."

"Good. And I’ll keep your advice in mind," Sohee said, nodding thoughtfully. "You’re right. I shouldn’t forget that Mr. Shin is working for us to maintain our professional relationship. That’s also one way of respecting his hard work."

Kim Heedo looked relieved.

On the other hand, Sohee felt good.

It’s a nice feeling when you know that you and your partner have a good influence on each other.

"You’re here, Young Master Heedo and Sohee-ssi."

Oh.

Sohee bowed his head politely. "Hello, Shaman Jung-nim."

Kim Heedo just slightly bowed his head as a greeting.

On the other hand, Shaman Jung looked up and observed Kim Heedo’s face with a serious look in his eyes. "This is bad, Young Master. Your "evolution" as a Hyper-Dominant Alpha is about to be completed."

Sohee and Kim Heedo, naturally, were surprised.

"You know that I’m a Hyper-Dominant Alpha, sir?" Kim Heedo asked, eyeing the shaman suspiciously. "Since when?"

"Since you manifested as one. I was locked in my temple at the time, so my divine powers were stronger than usual," Shaman Jung explained, and then he turned to Sohee. "Sohee-ssi, can you call Lim Garam-ssi? I would, but his husband is crazy— I mean, overprotective."

Ah, that made sense.

However...

"Shaman Jung-nim, you know that I’m close to Garam Hyung-nim?"

Yes, I’m claiming it now— Garam Hyung-nim and I have a close hyung-and-dongsaeng relationship.

"The shaman that guides the SG Group is a young person who likes technology a little too much," Shaman Jung said, chuckling. "She often sends text messages to keep me updated about the outside world. And she mentioned that Garam-ssi made a new friend."

Nice.

Garam Hyung-nim considers me as a friend and not just a dongsaeng.

Sohee couldn’t help but smile because he was, indeed, a successful fan.

My idol-slash-bias considers me as his friend!

"Hyung, I don’t like the smile on your face," Kim Heedo complained lightly, pouting like a jealous. "Do you like Garam Hyung-nim that much?"

"Yes, but I like you the most in the entire world— so stop sulking."

Kim Heedo immediately smiled.

How cute.

Sohee chuckled, gently patting Kim Heedo’s cheek before turning to Shaman Jung who was observing them with an amused look on his face. "I’ll call Garam Hyung-nim, sir."

***

"OPPA, you should pack your bags."

Lim Garam almost dropped the toy that he just picked up after hearing what Mija— the high schooler who served as SG Group’s shaman— said casually.

The two of them were in Gunwoo’s room.

His son fell asleep after his online class, so he was cleaning the playroom with Mija.

Then the high schooler just dropped those ominous words.

"Mija-ya, be careful," Lim Garam said, sighing while shaking his head. "Sihyuk Hyung isn’t home at the moment, but he has eyes and ears in every part of the mansion. You know my husband reacts negatively to the idea of me leaving him for whatever reason."

Mija clicked her tongue while shaking her head. "Oppa, you’re worse than those main characters in toxic "romance" webtoons who stay with their red flag partners because of "love"— despite the abuse they suffered from the person who was supposed to be in love with them. You know you developed Stockholm Syndrome, don’t you?"

It hurts because the truth hurts.

"Mija-ya, whatever you say won’t make me leave my family," Lim Garam said gently. "So, tell me. Why do you want me to pack my bags? Is there a reason why I should leave?"

Actually, Mija wasn’t the original shaman who worked for the SG Group.

She was the previous shaman’s disciple.

Sadly, the previous shaman died of old age when Mija was only in middle school.

When the SG Group discovered that the child had inherited her master’s abilities and divine power, they decided to take her in.

"Ah, I didn’t explain properly. I’m sorry about that, Oppa," Mija said, and then she turned serious. That was how she usually looked when giving oracles to Song Sihyuk and the other executives of SG Group. "Shaman Jung-ssi will need our help in protecting Kim Heedo and Park Sohee of the Ilsung Group. At any moment now, you’ll receive an S.O.S call from either of them."

Those are kids I care about.

As if on cue, Mija’s prophecy came true and Lim Garam received a call from Park Sohee.

"Garam Hyung-nim, please help us."

Lim Garam smiled after hearing Park Sohee’s plead. "I’ll listen to you, so please explain from the start, Sohee-ssi."

***

"THOSE BASTARDS have joined hands!"

To say that Lee Junsu was confused when he woke up in a private hospital room would be an understatement.

All the faces there were familiar.

Sanha.

His manager Sangwoo.

Shaman Crystal.

What’s happening here?

Lee Junsu closed his eyes when he noticed that no one saw him awake.

He pretended to still be asleep while listening to the conversation.

"Who joined hands?" Sanha asked in a bored tone. "And why are you angry?"

"Jung and that high schooler brat!" Shaman Crystal yelled angrily. "They’re working together to hunt us down!"

"That’s strange," Sangwoo commented as if he was already used to the shaman’s outburst. "Madam Crystal is already the weakest among the three Great Shamans of this generation, so why would Shaman Jung and Young Lady Mija need to join hands just to bring you down?"

"Yah!"

Shaman Crystal and Sangwoo continued to bicker.

Ah, so noisy...

"How long are you going to pretend to be asleep, babe?"

Tsk.

Lee Junsu opened his eyes and, as expected, he was greeted by Sanha’s handsome face hovering above him.

This bastard...

He thought Sanha was just a pushover boyfriend he could use to push Kim Heedo away temporarily.

But, clearly, he was wrong.

"Who the fuck are you?" Lee Junsu asked through gritted teeth. "And what did you do?"

Sanha smiled sweetly. "Guess."
