Married First, Loved Later : A Flash Marriage with My Ex's 'Uncle'-Chapter 339: Caught Red-Handed
Chapter 339: Caught Red-Handed
Finally, under Luke’s enthusiastic insistence, all ten or so men stayed, and Selina didn’t dare say a word.
"Drink... come on, drink up! What, are you disrespecting me or something?!"
Three rounds in, just as expected, Luke was completely drunk, clutching Selina’s sleeve with tears welling up in his eyes.
"They’ve had it so hard... sob... way too hard..."
Selina: "..."
Luke clung to the guys, making them tell him stories about their time working at the bar. He listened wide-eyed, completely absorbed.
Selina couldn’t help it. "You should slow down on the drinks."
"Why slow down? The drinks are bought, the money’s spent, why not drink?!"
Luke crooked a finger, and one of the men leaned in flirtatiously. But as soon as he got close, he looked at Luke, then Selina, then back again—completely unsure who he was supposed to serve. "Um..."
Before he could finish, a surprised shout came from the door.
The noisy bar instantly fell silent like someone had hit mute.
Selina got a bad feeling. She turned and spotted a tall, all-too-familiar figure—and swallowed hard, voice already trembling.
"Luke! Stop drinking! Logan’s here!"
Oh god. She’d just been caught by Logan, hanging out late at night in a bar with his little brother. No matter how you sliced it, this was headline-level drama. Was she going to survive this?
"...Logan?" Luke burped, waving her off. "Logan would never come to a place like this. I handpicked this spot myself!"
Logan stood silently behind them.
Selina felt a shadow cast over her. Her scalp tingled. "Luke, uh..."
"Don’t be such a wimp!" Luke was fired up. "A woman with money should live it up! Focusing on just one man? That’s a dead end. Selina, I stole some of my brother’s cash for you. Whatever kind of pretty boy or toy boy you want—"
She heard a low chuckle behind her.
She almost passed out. "Luke!"
Logan leaned in, his face shadowed.
He smiled faintly and said in a light tone,
"Oh? Go on, I’m listening."
Luke, thinking someone was cheering him on, got even more hyped—like he’d found a kindred spirit. Slurring, he went on:
"Yeah... try dating one! Selina, seriously, being with an old guy is no fun at all. Before marrying Logan, you only dated that jerk, right? You’ve never even tasted real love!"
Selina: "..." Real love, huh? Yeah, she wouldn’t know. But she did know one thing—she and Luke might not survive the night.
Logan nodded slowly and asked, "But as far as I remember, you’ve never actually been in a relationship. How would you know?"
"Who said I haven’t?!" Luke was indignant. "At least I’ve played it out in my head! What about Logan? Twenty-six, twenty-seven, and not a single woman around. He was a virgin before marriage! How’s he supposed to, uh... I mean, take care of Selina? His skills? Man, even I’m worried for him!"
...
...
The entire VIP room went dead silent.
The men hired to entertain were all staring at Logan in disbelief. Then, their gazes slowly dropped to a very specific area.
Well... who would’ve thought? Logan looked tall and intimidating, but... seemed like the equipment didn’t match the packaging.
Logan smiled slowly, voice unreadable. "Oh, really."
"Totally! I mean, Logan—" Luke was still ready to rant, until something clicked.
The young master finally noticed how quiet the room was. He set down his drink, looked up at the man who had spoken, and said,
"You’re just some escort. Who the hell do you think you are to—"
The rest of the sentence died in his throat.
Luke looked like he’d just seen a ghost. He froze for three seconds before suddenly shooting up from his seat.
"Lo–Lo–Lo—"
Logan said coolly, "Straighten your tongue before you speak."
Young Master Luke instantly deflated like a balloon, all his swagger gone. He shrank behind Selina like a kid caught sneaking out past curfew, his trembling voice betraying his panic:
"Logan, no, wait—listen, I can explain..."
Logan’s tone stayed calm. "You brought Mrs. Reid to a bar?"
Luke felt his death sentence incoming. "No, no! We weren’t drinking—"
Logan: "And tried to get Mrs. Reid to keep a few toy boys and pretty boys on the side?"
Luke knew he was doomed. "No! No, I meant I’m the dog! The puppy—I was talking about myself, you know what I mean?"
Logan’s gaze swept over the private room, landing briefly on each of the differently styled men still loitering nearby. He chuckled faintly.
"Quite the party. You really called up every man in the bar, huh?"
That quiet "huh" felt like the guillotine coming down.
Luke suddenly felt a noble kind of courage rising in him. If someone had to go down for this, it might as well be him.
It was all his fault! He was the one who dragged Selina here! If someone had to take the blame, it should be him!
Luke shoved Selina aside and dramatically declared, "It was me! I wanted to come to the bar! All these guys—I called them to serve me!"
Logan raised a brow. "So you needed that many men to serve you?"
Right. A guy calling in a dozen other guys to drink with him? It didn’t exactly help his case.
Luke’s brain scrambled. Then, a lightbulb went off.
"That’s because—I like men! Yep, that’s it. That’s the truth. Logan, I’ve never told you before, but I’m into men. That’s why I came to the bar—to get a thrill!"
Logan: "..."
Selina: "..."
Seriously? This guy had to be blackout drunk.
Logan pinched the bridge of his nose. "You’re drunk. I’m taking you home."
Luke really was out of it—he could barely stand. Honestly, the reason he brought Selina out tonight in the first place was because of the news about Angelica being pregnant with Logan’s child. He got angry.
But now that he’d sobered up a little, he realized how absurd it all sounded.
"Jack," Logan called calmly, "Get him in the car. He’s coming back to Sapphire Valley Villa tonight."
Amelia would tear Luke apart if he went home like this. Better to keep him out of sight.
Jack nodded and helped the stumbling Luke out to the car. Jaxon went to settle the bill, and the hired companions quickly disappeared.
In no time, only Selina and Logan were left in the private room.
Selina had a bad feeling.
Dead. She was so dead. It felt like the calm before the storm, like he was about to start grilling her.
She tried to sneak away quietly—only for someone to grab the back of her collar.
Logan’s voice was relaxed. "Mrs. Reid, where are you going?"
Selina’s eyes darted around nervously. "Uh, I—I was just heading to the car! Gonna go home and sleep!"
"I see..." Logan nodded slowly, voice smooth and unreadable.
"Before we go home, though... would Mrs. Reid like to explain why she was out at a bar in the middle of the night?"
