Leveling Technology To Save Humanity-Chapter 82: Extraction Time
Chapter 82: Extraction Time
The Butcher has been annoyed these days.
—Damn those bastards from the Boseman and Kavian countries.
It’s all because of them that he had to start sooner than he expected for his mission.
He was on a beach enjoying his life when they called. It was vacation time. But now he, the Butcher, was in a sour mood since his vacation time was cut short.
There was also some hatred towards Gort as well. Wasn’t it all because of him that he was forced into his current mission?
His face was so stern and cold that one would be able to sense death if they stepped closer to him.
"Boss, you need to calm down. We’ll have an accident at this rate!" The one driving the vehicle had no tears but wanted to cry.
In the truck with the Butcher, were 3 others. He knew them, having worked with them occasionally on some missions. They were part of the Extraction team, having sub-missions of their own to ensure Gort was taken away safely.
Each of them were strong in their own rights, lazily leaving back in the truck. One was some playing a video game on a console, and another was carefully admiring her dagger. The last one was the chatty driver, who was keeping them all entertained.
"Alright, we should be approximately 33 miles away from the road that branches to Geldhan village from the highway." the driver announced.
It was pitch black. The vehicle rode off the highway, parking on the side. Then, the truck’s boot opened, and out stormed 3 people on Motorcycles: the Butcher and 2 others.
As for the last person, of course he had to stay in the truck that looked normal from the outside, but was incredibly fortified on the inside.
Vrmmmmmm~
The 3 bikers ride into the forest.
—What else can they use to drive in through the dense forest path?
Everyone understood it was time to get down to business. The night owls Who’d, the frogs croaked, the wild animals roared, and mother nature herself refused to keep still.
However, the trespassers didn’t care, pulling incredible stunts across the dense terrain.
Thup! Thup!
They took out a few wolves with their silent pistols. That’s right, there were wolves up the path they chose to use. But only through this way, can they arrive undetected.
Who would be silly enough to use the main roads?
...
Vrmmm~
As they drove, they also released a special drone that flew above them, following the blinking connection with one of their wristwatches. To the current world, such technology was high-end spy technology.
The drone was extremely ’fast,’ scanning the perimeter with a 360 degree heat and night vision abilities.
Take a look at their bikes. One of the homes had a screen display that showcased everything the drone could see. How do you think they were able to quickly handle those wolves from earlier?
"We stop here." The butcher announced, his voice dripping with authority.
They had been travelling for quite a long time now in utter silence.
It was only after clearing their tracks, camouflaging and hiding their bikes, that everyone stood in a circle.
1, 2, 3!
They popped specially crafted pills in their mouth, everyone felt a boost of energy plague their bodies. This was the last super Pill created by their Otto country.
The pill acted like an adrenaline energy booster, making them feel overly powerful for the next 12 hours straight. Despite being strong on their own, they had been given orders to take the pills.
On this mission, there must not be any setbacks, especially since strong men from the other 2 powerful countries were also involved. Clicking a button on the side of their watchers, they began their timer.
"Alright," the Butcher Began. "Remember your roles.
"Right!"
With that, the trio leaped forth like ninjas, running, jumping from tree to tree, and front flipping when the need arises. They wore all black from head to toe.
The black bird-like drone still continued to follow them, realistically flapping its wings as it stormed the skies.
Then, they finally stopped dead in their tracks. They were tree branches, watching the enemy’s territory ahead.
’According to the news, Geldhan village doesn’t have any high-tech technologies.’ the Butcher inwardly reminded.
How do they know? Because they contacted various suppliers of these technologies and confirmed that no one dared to sell anything to these people.
Heck! Who in their right minds would think of going against the BIG 3?
Everyone felt that the only things Geldhan village might have are normal security cameras. No heat vision or night vision ones... just normal ordinary, everyday cameras in workplaces.
Sure enough, the drone flew by and got a closer look of the cameras around—very ordinary looking to say the least.
Hey, the cameras didn’t even have brand logos on them, and looked very old and ancient. They looked more like the first few versions of security cameras in human history.
Tsk.
"What barbaric systems are these? Too ugly."
"Pfft, it looks like caveman technology. With just this, they dare to claim to have security around their territory?"
The Butcher listened to the 2 and agreed with the 2. With such disgusting security systems, you dare to turn down the BIG 3 and expect to survive the storm?
—NAIVE.
....
15 minutes later, they came to a more secured entry point that was east of the Toll gate roads.
There, a peculiar cliff stood tall, with only a single guard patrolling the place. But that’s not all.
There was a large empty field, as wide and clear as an Olympic Football field. The vast open field departed the trees from the cliffside. And just below the cliffside, was a single guard patrolling the place... But so what?
Everyone knows the skills of their Otto country, as well as that of the other Big 3 countries, far surpass any in today’s world.
Everyone’s pupils narrowed.
"I just feel something isn’t right. It could be a trap?"
"Could be, but I don’t think so.... Zoom in on the Cliff’s walls."
"On it."
The bird flew closer, and everyone looked at the images fed to their watches. Don’t think these watches were small everyday watches.
These peculiar watches now had interfaces that expanded to the size of a cell phone. The extended surfaces were flat and thin as paper, but looked incredibly sleek too.
These watches had a variety of functions that kept their agents safe and successful. They were waterproof and incredibly useful when swimming underwater too.
One can never imagine that the lower part of the watch can also act as a small oxygen tank in times of need. This was a real spy gadget their country poured their heart into making.
The feed appeared on the watch. To see better, they pressed another button that projected the displayed image on their wrists.
"Its Purple Slip. They must be confident because they lined the cliff’s walls with that purple slippery moss."
"Yeah. No matter the season, it produces slippery gel that prevents anyone from climbing high. It is incredibly difficult to maneuver across."
The Butcher chuckled. Difficult, yes. But they definitely underestimated what sort of enemies they’ll be up against. Take it to the sky."
"Roger that boss!"
Soon, the bird ascended higher until it reached the very top of the cliff.
—No Purple Slip there.
"Our main priority is to get past the Purple Slip. To the rest of the world, it’s a difficult situation. Luckily, our Otto country was prepared."
It’s no secret that the walls of all GF WorldTech Companies were lined with Purple Slip. So they had already come prepared, knowing they’ll have to maneuver through such difficulties.
"It seems it’s time to put our Otto country’s latest invention to work."
Looking at the especially made gloves and shoes they wore, it only took a touch of a button to activate its abilities.
According to the report, it has already been tested and proven effective against Purple Slip. The world didn’t know of this invention, and they were the first few to have access to them now.
It says that with one touch of a button, they’ll be climbing various terrains and moving up the walls like geckos.
After arriving in Gwintia country and leaving the airport, The Butcher had also tested it out last night, going to the woods and doing a few experiments of his own. Some of the gadgets given to him were new, so it’s best to familiarize oneself with them before any mission.
Hmph!
"How cocky," another said arrogantly. "They must think Purple Slip is something unconquerable."
"Hmm..." The Butcher nodded. But just to be sure, "fly around the open fields again."
Who knows if there are landmines around?
The other guys did as told, but there was nothing! The open field was clear, with hidden triggers around.
It was funny. They thought these Geldhan people had no brains if they only trusted the purple slip moss and a lone soldier to keep this area safe.
’It seems the Organization was thinking too much when they decided to send me here to do the work a baby can do...’ Hah! The Butcher’s lips raised high in a snarl. ’What a waste of my Fucking TIME!’ freewebnøvel.coɱ
