Infinite System Inheritor Return From The Abyss-Chapter 332 - 330: Unacceptable
The next day, the atmosphere in the dean's office was tense. Nathan's voice was the first to break the silence.
"What? No way!" he said, shaking his head in disbelief. Yoora stood beside him, her arms crossed tightly.
"Yeah, how can he be our homeroom teacher? He nearly got us killed yesterday!" she added, her eyes narrowing at Seojun, who stood calmly near the window, his expression unreadable.
Dean Kim sighed, adjusting his glasses as he looked at the group. "I understand your concerns, but the decision is final. Professor Jihoon will not only teach you practical lessons but also be your homeroom teacher."
Nathan's voice was loud and clear, filled with disbelief. "Are you serious? Dean."
Yoora crossed her arms tightly, clearly agreeing. "This has to be a joke. Look! Hannah didn't even come to school today, probably because of yesterday!"
Minseok, who had been mostly quiet, finally spoke up. He looked directly at Seojun, his expression concerned. "Hannah's mom said she had a high fever."
Seojun stood silently, his expression unchanged, watching the reactions unfold without a single word.
Nathan's fists were clenched. "And you expect us to be okay with him as our homeroom teacher after that?"
The dean clasped his hands together. "I understand your concerns, but you have to understand that Professor Han's methods are designed to bring out the best in you. He's not here just to teach—you're going to learn to survive, to grow stronger. This is not just about grades, it's about life and death."
Yoora shook her head stubbornly. "I don't accept it."
Nathan nodded, his face hard. "Me neither."
The dean sighed and looked at Seojun. "Would you like to say something to them, Professor Han?" Seojun didn't say anything.
The dean sighed, "I know what happened yesterday is scary but--"
Yoora clenched her fists. "Scared? Who said I was scared? I just think your teaching method is reckless!"
Nathan crossed his arms stubbornly. "I just don't think you're fit to be our homeroom teacher."
Dean Kim raised his hand to stop the argument. "Enough. This decision is not up for debate. I expect all of you to attend and participate fully."
Nathan looked at Elshienne and whispered, "Say something, Elshienne."
But Elshienne just shook her head. "If the dean's decision is final, we can't do anything," she said simply.
Minseok nodded in agreement. "Yeah, I mean… it's not like we can change it," he added, glancing nervously between Nathan and Yoora.
The dean cleared his throat, signaling the conversation was over. "Good. Now that it's settled, I expect everyone to respect the decision. Professor Jihoon will be your homeroom teacher starting today."
Yoora clicked her tongue, clearly annoyed, while Nathan's expression stayed hard.
The dean waved his hand. "Alright, you're all dismissed. We'll inform you once the schedule is finalized."
They stood up, and as they walked out of the office, Seojun followed behind them. "The new schedule is still being prepared. For now, just go to your first class according to your current schedule," he said calmly, then turned and walked away without another word.
Yoora watched him go, her hands clenched into fists. "I hate that guy! I'm older but he acts so cocky! Ugh! It's because of him that Hannah is sick!" she shouted, her voice filled with frustration.
Minseok frowned and shook his head. "Yoora. You know it wasn't his fault. Hannah just got sick, it happens. And... if I'm honest, I think what he did taught us a lot. We were unprepared."
Yoora glared at him. "Oh, so you're on his side now?"
Minseok sighed. "It's not about sides. It's about learning. Even Hannah said she needed to train more."
Yoora crossed her arms and huffed. "Whatever. I still think he's a jerk."
As they walked down the hallway, the tension hung heavy in the air. Nathan's silence was deafening, his expression hard and distant. Elshienne glanced at him nervously, her fingers fiddling with the strap of her bag. She opened her mouth, hesitating before finally speaking up. "Nathan… are you okay?"
Nathan didn't respond, his eyes fixed straight ahead. Elshienne's lips pressed together in worry, but before she could say anything else, Nathan suddenly picked up his pace, moving ahead of the group without another word.
Elshienne stopped in her tracks, watching his back get smaller as he walked away. She reached out a hand as if to stop him but then let it fall back to her side. A soft sigh escaped her lips.
"Looks like he needs some space," Minseok said gently, coming up beside her.
Elshienne nodded, her eyes still on Nathan's retreating figure. "Yeah... I guess so."
Minseok gave her a reassuring smile. "Don't worry too much. He'll cool off."
Elshienne tried to smile back, though it didn't quite reach her eyes. "I hope so."
They reached the hallway where their classes split, and Minseok gave her a small wave. "I'll see you later, Elshienne."
She waved back. "Yeah, see you later."
With that, they parted ways, Minseok heading down the left hall catching up with Yoora while Elshienne walked with Nathan.
"Nathan! Elshienne!"
Elshienne raised her head and saw Nayoung running toward them, slightly out of breath. "I thought you weren't coming," Elshienne said with a small smile.
Nayoung scratched her head, grinning sheepishly. "Sorry, I slept late last night." She looked around and blinked. "Anyway Goodmorning to you and Nat-- Hey! Nathan, where are you going?!" she called out, but Nathan just kept walking ahead, not even turning back.
Nayoung frowned and looked at Elshienne with confusion. "What happened to him?"
Elshienne sighed, putting her hands on her waist and began to explain.
Nayoung's eyes widened, and then she suddenly jumped up, practically bouncing in place. "Really?! So taming is our major subject now? Oh my gosh!" she squealed, her excitement bubbling over.
They started walking down the hallway, Elshienne shaking her head at Nayoung's energy. "You sure are excited," Elshienne said with a laugh.
Nayoung giggled. "Sorry, hehee... I just got excited! Yesterday was so intense! I don't blame Yoora and Nathan for getting worked up, but…" she leaned closer, lowering her voice, "why do I feel like there's something else going on between Nathan and Professor?"
