Infinite Paths: The Raging Phoenix-Chapter 1337: Junkyard
Chapter 1337: Junkyard
Rain could see that... he used more than one million mana points in a single moment after all, and his brain was the core of the whole operation. His High Human path had already reached the level max, and he didn’t unlock anything new, so he couldn’t expect any other help from the paths system.
"... I am better now," Rain said after sighing and healing himself a bunch of times. "Maybe I should try again the thing to make myself evolve... it has been a while, after all."
"The worst thing that you can do right now is to do anything that will harm or tire you," Sakaki said. "Relax and rest your body and mind to let the mana return to you faster."
Rain was terrible at relaxing, but there wasn’t much that he could do for the sake of the mission. In the end, he just looked for a quiet place to ponder about the future as he waited for his mana to recover.

"Portal Conjuration got fifteen levels, and Spatial Manipulation Mastery got thirty..." Rain thought. "This is quite something."
Spatial Manipulation Mastery improved the effectiveness of all spells of that path by five percent per level, so keeping that equipped was a must. That also was going to help Rain strain his brain a little less, so it was a win-win.
After a couple of hours, Rain had recovered all of his mana and then used Portal Conjuration again. At that point in time, he couldn’t help but look at his own power and be shocked at it. To recover a million mana points in a couple of hours... was more than enough power to conquer Earth one hundred years ago with ease. The only real issue would have been the dragon god.
With those thoughts in mind, Rain crossed the portal and then found himself in the first zone once again. Still, he soon realized that the place was falling apart and the sky was orange... it seemed that the planet was losing its life without being under the control of Arel.
"Even if it wasn’t her intention, I guess she did some good in keeping this place alive and kicking," Rain thought.
In any case, the strain on Rain’s mind had decreased a bit, so the headache was bearable. He soon went on to focus on using Meditation Mastery again since they didn’t have time to waste.
"Hmm, this might be better than I thought," Sakaki said. "It seems that at this pace, you won’t have to stop in space and recover your mana there. Equip your other mana regeneration skills, and they will become even better thanks to Meditation Mastery, and they will level up faster as well. To be honest, I am getting scared of your progress. At your current level, you probably could have soloed all of the first dragons that destroyed Earth at our time."
"It is a pity that I am one hundred thousand years too late for that," Rain said.
"Maybe not..." Sakaki said.
"Let’s not even think about messing with time magic, all right?" Rain asked. "Messing with time is the same as asking for the time to mess with us."
"Fair enough," Sakaki said. "This is too risky, in the end."
Attempting to manipulate space and time simultaneously, particularly with the intent to alter past events, posed significant dangers and complexities. Firstly, altering the past could lead to unpredictable and potentially catastrophic consequences, creating paradoxes and disrupting the fabric of reality. Time is a delicate continuum, and any interference could result in a chain reaction of events with unforeseeable consequences.
Moreover, the use of space and time magic amplifies the risk. Space manipulation involves altering the spatial dimensions and properties of objects and environments, while time magic pertains to the manipulation of temporal aspects such as past, present, and future. Combining these two powerful forces increases the potential for unintended side effects and instability.
Attempting to change historical events by manipulating space and time could lead to the creation of alternate timelines or paradoxical loops, where cause and effect become distorted. This could result in existential threats not only to the individuals involved but also to the entire universe.
Furthermore, the laws governing space-time manipulation may be inherently complex and difficult to comprehend fully. Any miscalculations or missteps in wielding these magics could lead to disastrous outcomes, including the destruction of the caster, the manipulation of memories, or the unraveling of reality itself. The relics wanted to avenge the end of the previous Earth, while Rain wanted to protect the current one... moreover, they didn’t know anything regarding time magic, and unveiling the knowledge that could fall on the enemies’ hands was too risky.
In the end, Rain changed the subject by focusing on casting the spell again. This time, the pain returned at full power since the distance crossed was larger... and this time, as well, they arrived in a place that they had never been before... The new planet was quite dark. Rain could see purple clouds in the sky, and they seemed pretty toxic as well... Rain felt his lungs getting hotter with every breath he took.
"We reached the border of their junkyard," The king in the shadows said.
"I can sense some life source readings close by..." Sakaki said. "They appear to be of giant monsters. It is better if you don’t fight them."
