Infinite Paths: The Raging Phoenix-Chapter 1336: Human limits
Chapter 1336: Human limits
"How are things inside?" Rain asked.
"It is a bit clustered, but Iori is also using a part of the mana to improve his skill, so it is only a matter of time before we are ready," Esmeralda said. "Still, it isn’t something that we can use indefinitely; everyone only has a couple of meters to use. There are many matters that will become a trouble thanks to this. Privacy, resting, physiologic needs..."
"Yeah, we still need to improve this..." Rain said. "Still, they should keep their minds busy unlocking the new paths. That being said, even that is something that we can only do for so long."
Seal Master Path: The Seal Master Path teaches you the ancient art of seal magic, empowering practitioners to wield the forces of binding and restriction against their adversaries. Those who follow this path become adept at crafting powerful seals to contain, control, and manipulate various energies and entities while also harnessing the allure of greed to enhance their abilities.
Level 1: Arcane Warding - Creates a protective barrier around the user, shielding them from magical attacks and negating a portion of the incoming spell’s effects. Reduces magical damage and effects by one hundred points per level.
Level 5: Glyph of Binding - Inscribes a potent glyph that binds the target, immobilizing them and restricting their movements. The effectiveness of the seal increases by five percent per level with the level of intelligence, wisdom, and skill.
Level 10: Sealing Ritual - Performs a complex ritual to seal away the target’s powers or abilities temporarily. The duration and potency of the seal depend on the user’s mastery of seal magic.
Speaking of new paths, Rain finished analyzing the sealed ones’ cores... he wondered how the others defeated that group when they fought with those kinds of weird skills. Regardless, Rain still had a bunch of the captured lords that Esmeralda and Branden’s group defeated over the years... he could learn their skills as well, but time pressed them for other goals.
"I believe that we can take the next step," Sakaki suddenly said. "The number of bases that the enemies have is almost impossible to count, but at least we have enough knowledge to check the place where the vessel is supposed to be. There is also a chance that we will find some things more useful there."
"I wonder how they stock something like a star vessel... it isn’t exactly something that you can park anywhere," Rain furrowed his eyebrows.
"According to the king in the shadows, it is a graveyard of dead planets that they use to throw away things that they don’t need and store things of low importance," Sakaki explained. "It is a pretty massive place since they don’t truly destroy things that can be useful unless they absolutely have to."
"That is kind of interesting when they destroyed a bunch of planets already and also took all of the resources of the places they head invade," Rain said. "Regardless, I will alert the others."
Rain surveyed the quiet castle town and the empty streets, noting the absence of any visible activity. Everyone was fully engrossed in their tasks within the pocket dimension, either instructing others in new paths or endeavoring to unlock new abilities themselves. While there was bustling activity within the confined space, the external world was serene and undisturbed.
Although the individuals within the pocket dimension could observe the external surroundings, they were isolated from the ambient sounds of the outside world. This peculiar dynamic made Rain utilize Telepathy to communicate with them, bridging the divide between the two realms. As he reached out with his mind, he felt the familiar connection forming, enabling him to convey messages and receive responses without the need for physical proximity or audible speech.
"We are ready to move out," Rain declared.
"We are in the middle of a training session here," Sealyn said. "We won’t be able to focus if we have to worry about fighting as soon as we change locations."
"The location that we are heading is pretty far away, so we will stop at many places along the way," Rain said. "We will also stop in the void while I recover mana, so nothing will happen for a while... possibly."
"You should at least try to make us feel reassured, Dad," Sealyn sighed.
"I can’t do that by lying," Rain shrugged.
In any case, Sakaki showed a magic map regarding the area where they were in, and it seemed pretty weird... there were a bunch of stars around, but Rain knew that the distance between them was multiplied by billions of times if compared to the map.
"With your current level, you can reach the second zone by using the portal," Sakaki said. "That will consume a fair amount of your mana, but in two hours, you will be able to recover to move out again."
"Are we heading to the first layers of the prison?" Rain asked.
"That is right," Sakaki said.
They were advancing by going backward... that was funny if anything. Regardless, Rain tried to relax a bit more in order to make everyone in the pocket dimension relax as well... they could see him tense, after all. While he wasn’t being a leader like before, he could do that much for them... at the same time, he was the only person who could use some paths like the Esper path and the Space Manipulator path, so whether he liked it or not, Rain had to do his best in being reassuring.
Once that was done, Rain opened the portal. He couldn’t see the other side, but he didn’t hesitate in crossing it... it didn’t take long before he arrived in the middle of the city where he met Orslan... the place was completely empty.
"Ugh... my head," Rain thought while holding his head.
"This isn’t the first time it has happened..." Elisabetha said. "It seems that you are using mana beyond human limits, and that is starting to affect you."
